KAHLIA MORGAN WAS NOT A SLUT. She merely had the aspects and effects to allow herself to exploit the beauty she had inherited and the confidence she had grown up with. Sex was not yet as openly discussed in the society that had formed her, but amongst herself and her classmates at Hartley High, it had become normal, and something of a right of passage.

To reiterate, Kahlia was by no means a slut. She was sixteen, for crying out loud, and was just trying to enjoy herself in whatever ways she could. In this case, it included shopping, spending time with her friends and exploring certain connections with people past the once-simple levels of friendship. She was not a slut, she just enjoyed sex and the encounters that came from it, and that was all.

It empowered her, added to the confidence that had come with age and curated the image that she wanted to show the world; beautiful, friendly, calculated and (often to a fault) honest. Kahlia had control over everything about her life and the reputation that preceded her, but when it came to the beginning of Year 12, that all crumbled.

All because Amerie Wadia decided that it was a good idea to curate a freakin' sex map that documented every single interaction between a select few people in their year. Including Kahlia, who was by no means embarrassed by her choices, but rather wished for them to be kept a secret in the face of others - because that sort of thing could ruin everything she had worked for.

The stupid 'Incest Map' of Hartley High was ruining her life. It was creating arguments and fights and forcing her out of her free time so that she could spend time amongst others named on the map being educated on many things they already know, enduring teasing and taunting that could have been avoided.

But Kahlia Morgan was not a slut, and she would stand by that no matter what adversity faced her. Because, unlike some people, she could hold her own, and was not afraid of what could come.

❛  AUTHOR'S NOTE ━━ I don't own any rights to Heartbreak High (obviously), however, I do own Kahlia's character and all the characters created to help her storyline progress. Obviously, all warnings for this book are according to the events of the show, with additional mentions of sex, strong language, eating disorders, mental health issues in accordance to Kahlia and other characters as well as some mature content.

Also, like a few of the other characters featured in the show, Kahlia has indigenous roots. I have done my best to research aspects of this, however, the internet can only do so much and I will not claim to be entirely knowledgeable on the subject.
