# 00. AN OVERVIEW !

Sadie and Dustin Henderson's lives took a turn when their mother and father announced their separation. It didn't necessarily come as a surprise per se, but being told outright that the marriage between Claudia and Bobby Henderson had fallen apart due to the nature of Bobby's work stung.

At least it wasn't about either of them; Dustin being nine and Sadie at thirteen it would have been devastating to hear that something they had done drove their parents apart. But alas, Bobby was a trucker who crossed over states and the entirety of the USA when necessarily, worked too long hours and the relationship had fallen apart.

Claudia took a job in their hometown of Hawkins, Indiana, and so Sadie and Dustin followed her there from Cincinnati, Ohio. It wasn't that Bobby wasn't a good father - in fact he was rather good and almost always brought back his children presents and spent as much time as he could with them - but it was considerably harder to raise two kids when he was travelling for hours on end.

And even if Bobby hadn't been a trucker, Sadie and Dustin would have ended up with their mother anyway; in an unfortunate car accident between the old Henderson home and the fairly nearby Walmart, Bobby had died.

So, without much of a choice, Sadie and Dustin settled into their lives at Hawkins. The warm and cosy house on Sycamore, Claudia adopted a cat named Mews and the two kids began to make friends.

Dustin became close with Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair and Will Byers, and Sadie having been particularly close to Dustin she often dropped him off, meaning that she ended up friends with Mike's older sister, Nancy, and Will's older brother, Jonathan. Not only was it Nancy, but her friend Barbara as well as Ally and others in their grade.

They were living the usual small town life, and nothing seemed to be able to change that. Until Will Byers became the first person to be reported as missing in Hawkins since 1923.

❛ IT FEELS LIKE HEAVEN ON THE INSIDE ━━ i don't own any of the stranger things, plot or characters, but i do own sadie and her plot line, as well as any accompanying characters to that. for trigger warnings, there of course is everything in stranger things, and there is going to be smoking, physical and emotional abuse, bad parenting, sexual content and jokes/references, explicit language, underage drinking and drinking in general and that's just what i can think of, of course if you've watched the show then you know it's content.

❛ SHE'S CALLING MY NAME, OH IT SOUNDS NICE ━━ this plot is a little over done but i love it and i love what i've made sadie's character to be so idc. i am aiming for the chapters of this book to be a little longer, each chapter varying in length and so i'll be updating when i get that chance. that could mean once a week, every two weeks and so on, so please be patient! and feedback is appreciated :)

❛ THE WAY THAT YOU'RE DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT ━━ the playlist is a little on the longer side i admit, and to be honest i cut it down because otherwise the entirety of chase atlantic's music would be in there but i very much suggest you listen to the ones i have put but if not don't worry

❛ I THINK I'M FALLING IN LOVE WITH ALL THESE BIG SIGNS ━━ i recommended reading this book in light mode, with gill sans as the ( normal sized ) font.
