JYP Entertainment announces that Stray Kids's Zaniel will go on a hiatus due to health reasons.

2024 has been a great year for Stray Kids! With their successful releases such as "Chk Chk Boom", "SLASH" and "Come Play", it seems like the group's fire couldn't be extinguished. Along with their on-going world tour and new full album, "HOP", Stray Kids has been booked and busy!

With just a few days left in 2024, unfortunate news has been shared to STAYS (Stray Kids fandom name). On December 19, JYP Entertainment announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Stray Kids's only female member, ZANIEL, will be going on hiatus due to health issues. Below is the English translation of the announcement.

THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

We would like to make announcement regarding Stray Kids member Zaniel's health.

Stray Kids member Zaniel recently injured her ankle during a recent schedule.

Zaniel immediately visited a medical center to receive a detailed examination, in which medical professionals determined that she must avoid any movements that may cause more pain or damage to her injured ankle. Zaniel will be avoiding any strenuous activities and will be doing her best to recover for the time being.

This also means that Zaniel will not perform during Stray Kids' on-going world tour, "DominATE", until further notice. She will be returning to South Korea in a few days and continue her recovery there. However, Zaniel will still appear in a few interviews online, as some videos were filmed prior to her injury. We ask you to send positive messages to the artist during this time.

According to the artist's wish to minimize STAY [Stray Kids' fandom]'s concern, we have made the announcement after the release of the group's newest album, "HOP" and Stray Kids' 2024 BBMA [Billboard Music Awards] performance. We would like to ask for STAY's kind understanding.
