2—tell me about you

"S—So, you're telling me that, you can teleport?!"
Silence.
Mirae knew he would freak out.
Again, anyone would.
Mirae sighs.
Another hater for me.
Great going.
"Hey, are you okay ?" he asks in a soft voice. He senses that something isn't right.
Her sad expressions can tell her story.
The girl, who has her head down, sighs again.
Both of them are sitting on the sidewalk.
Mirae, then lifts her head, looking straight into the eyes of the boy.
"Are scared of me too?" She asks, her voice was strong, an expressionless mask on her face.
The boy tries to study her expressions, but he couldn't seem to get anything, it is like she has built this extremely strong, impenetrable wall around herself.
It's impossible to look through it, even though it is transparent.
"What?" was the only thing he could let out.
He senses the atmosphere around her, she isn't joking, she's serious.
"I asked you something. Are you afraid of me, too?" Her voice turns shaky as she ends her sentence.
"Wait, what do you mean by 'too', I mean, people are scared of you ? You?" He asks her, confused, pointing a finger at her.
"Just answer the damn question! Are you scared of me?" She demands a straight answer from him.
She is on the verge of tears.
She hates people running away from her, scared.
The boy seems to be taken aback after the girl's outburst.
But quickly regains himself.
"No." He states firmly.
"No?" She repeats, her voice, a mere whisper.
"No, of course not. Why would I be? You seem pretty harmless to me." He shrugs, his voice, soft.
She stays silent.
After Eunbin, he's the only person, her heart and mind found worthy of her trust.
She did know why though. Intuitions? Maybe.
"I find you pretty amazing actually. I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to teleport to places, whenever, wherever. That's so cool. Seriously, I wouldn't wanna pass." He said.
The girl stays mum.
Somehow, he understands that the girl needs consolation and the need to be assured that she is a human too.
He understands that she thought he would be scared, given her unique powers.
But, he isn't.
After all, she has saved him. And he owes to her, his life.
"Mirae." The girl finally breaks the silence.
"What?"
"My name, is Mirae." She elaborates.
"Oh, Mirae..."
"No, I am just Mirae." She states.
"Oh, well, Jungguk here, nice (and lucky) to meet you." He informs her, a warm smile on his face. He puts his hand out for her to shake.
Mirae looks at it for a contemplating moment, before gently shaking it, returning his smile.
"You don't have a surname too?" She asks.
The boy pauses. Then replies.
"No."
"Do you wanna hear my story?" he asks, the smile never leaving his face.
Mirae's smile grows, indicating she was interested, totally.
"Haha, but...it's kinda sad. So, still wanna hear it?" He asks again.
And, she nods, yet again, enthusiastically.
He sighs.
"Okay. Well, you must've figured out that I don't have a home. Actually, the truth is that... I am, an orphan. I mean, that's what I believe, you know. I know it might sound stupid, idiotic plus lame, but I was like, around 7, I guess, when woke up in some abandoned, ruins of a factory, and I don't remember a thing before that." He says.
"So, what happened after that. Are you on your own since then?" She asks, feeling sympathetic.
"No, actually, I had no where to go, I did not even remember my name, but I came to know because of this bracelet I had on me. It had my name on it." He shows the bracelet that rightfully rests on his wrist.
It is stunning.
Somehow it kind of feels familiar.
Suddenly, in her mind, she sees unclear glimpse of someone.
A child, his wrist, a beautiful smile on his face.
And then, as soon as it had come, it all vanishes.
"Are you okay, Mirae?" he asks, concern lacing his voice.
It is then, that she realises that she had her eyes wide open, and was mumbling incoherent words.
"Huh, y-yeah, I am fine, you continue."
Time and again, she keeps stealing glances at the bracelet.
Why does it seem so familiar?
"Oh, yeah, so...where was I? Yeah, I had nowhere to go, so... I was wandering around the place, when an old women noticed me, and she took me in...into her house, and she started raising me. Her son did not like me, and tried to kick me out several times, but Aunty did not let him." He narrates, releasing a sigh before continuing.
"Recently, she died. And, grabbing the opportunity, her son, he...kicked me out. So...I found a new place, and started living there." He tells her.
"A place...as in, a house?" She asks.
"No, actually it is the ruins of a post office. But the building's still in a decent shape, so, yeah. The man's wife helps me by bringing food, sneakily. It has been a month since all of that happened." He replied.
The girl stays quiet for a while, thinking.
"I know how it is to feel like that." She says, looking down, playing with her fingers.
"What?" He asks, trying to take a look at her face.
Mirae finally lifts her head, tears at the edge of her eyes, threatening to fall.
"I am an orphan too. I got kicked out of the house by my foster parents, today." She confesses, a sad smile dancing on her lips.
Jungguk is surprised. Looking at her, he never did think of her being an orphan.
He does not know how to react to this.
"They had called for the asylum to take me. So, I ran away."
She pauses, then looking down at her fingers, she continues.
"It was all because of this."
She says, pointing at her head, still looking down at her free hand.
Tears finally, are let out, tracing their way down her cheek leisurely.
"I am sorry, but I won't let you do this." He says, still looking at her, calmly.
She lifts her head to meet his eyes.
"Won't let me do what?" She asks, confused, and sniffing.
"This. You are blaming yourself. Don't. You should love yourself. And if you've got gifts like you have, then you definitely should love yourself." He explains.
Mirae is stunned. She has never thought of it like that. She never did thinks of her abilities as gift.
"Thanks." She says, after she calms down, a cute smile adorning her face.
It was then that she knew that she could maybe trust him.
"Ha, ha." He chuckles.
"No need, I am just stating the truth."
She smiles in return.
He stands up and brushes his pants with his hands.
"Alright, lets go." He says.
"Go, where?" She asks, utterly confused.
"To my place." He replies.
"Why would I do that?" Mirae asks, narrowing her eyes.
"Because I think someone told me, like a minute ago, that they have nowhere to go." He replies, sarcastically.
She glares at him, before looking away.
"Well, I definitely don't think you would like to live on the streets, nor do you deserve it, and I owe you, so...I was thinking if you would come with me?"
