❛ 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥𝘴, 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 ❜

From the beginning, Moon Eunseong's life had been unconventional. She would never know her true parents, her earliest memories consisting of neon lighting, distressed wood and ink drawings pinned up on painted walls.

Only a few months after her birth, Eunseong would be left on the doorstep of a tattoo parlour in Daegu. Such tattoo parlour was owned and run by a group of friends, several away in the military, some in college and the rest making their own way of life in that area.

And who else to find her on that doorstep than the young couple who were opening up the shop that day. Lee Eunha and Moon Baekho had met years before in middle school, and their relationship had developed from there.

They were briefly split apart at the end of high school, when Baekho had decided that in order to be the best that he could for Eunha later in life, he would complete his military service frshly graduated.

A year and half later and he and Taehoon would return to the military to find that Eunha and their other friends had done exactly what they hoped they would. They begun a tattoo parlour.

Despite the general consensus that those with tattoos weren't exactly upholding the usual social standards. Those who had them were deliquents, anti-social individuals or criminals, the tattoo parlour was successful, especially amongst younger people.

A few months later after Baekho's return, he and Eunha would walk down from the apartment they shared with a few other of their friends - Taehoon as well as his girlfriend Yua, and then Yua's sister Yuhime - who was also the girlfriend of Eunha's best friend Choa.

And there they would find a small backpack, sat with the zipper open and a childish array of soft material spinning out. Inside - a small child.

Instantly they woke their friends inside the apartment, proceeding to call those who lived away from the shop and didn't open for the day, instead trying to figure out what they could do with this child.

Ultimately, after calling several of their parents and the rather motherly-figure owner of the convenience store just down the road from them, Eunha and Baekho decided that they would take care of the young girl.

At least until the authorities found a conclusion to their case. They would either find her parents or wouldn't.

It would be the latter.

And so, the group were now raising a child together, Eunha and Baekho named her legal parents through matters of adoption, but the group of friends were her family, those who she would learn from and those who would nuture her.

They named her Moon Eunseong, taking Baekho's name and then the given name of one of Choa's old friends who passed away young.

She grew up loved, even if it her life hadn't begun that way. Eunseong spent her time in the tattoo parlour when she wasn't attending school, copying her mother's drawings or creating her own. She would sing along with the songs that played on the radio besides the leather chair on which Taehoon's clients sat, dance with Yua when they were cleaning up the shop.

By the time she was twelve, Eunseong had begun to write her own songs on the backs of drawings that her parents asked her to do for tattoos. In any spare moment when she wasn't working or helping in the tattoo shop, she was writing lyrics or singing herself, helping down at the convenience store to the woman who became like her grandmother.

At fifteen, she was working at the tattoo shop, mostly working at reception and closing up before going upstairs to the apartment. And one night, after Yua and Choa had left and she was sure that another one of their friends - Daehwan - wasn't planning on returning for a late night appointment that night, she turned on the lights in one of the private rooms.

A blue and pink neon light flickered above her as her eyes scraped over the designs pasted to the wall. She settled on one she had drawn - a whispy, mostly line drawing of two koi fish that was designed to fill the entirely of someone's upper arm.

The sound of buzzing filled the room, Eunseong sat on the leather chair, one knew bent and tilted to the side. And so, she gave herself her first tattoo, the design made much smaller than it should be and positioned on the junction between her thigh and her torso rather than her arm. It was easy to hide that way.

But in the excitement of giving herself her very own first tattoo, Eunseong had forgotten a couple of things. To tell her mom that she would be locking up that night, and that nobody else had to do it. Eunha wasn't mad, in fact she asked to see the tattoo, and upon doing so instantly told everyone else.

Eunseong was doing tattoos for their more regular customers within the month. The ones who had seen her grow up in the shop and would trust her to do so, those who wouldn't report the shop for having an underage tattoo artists.

And later that year, when she went to high school, she met Min Yoongi.

They were incredibly alike. Music and song writing was what they did well, and they became friends in no time. She would go to his basketball games, he would come to the tattoo parlour and watch her in action.

And eventually allow her to give him a tattoo. It was small, well hidden and in a place that anyone would rarely see. But it was there.

It was clear that Eunha and Baekho only wanted the best for their daughter, as did the rest of the people who had become her guardians and family. They didn't protest when it became clear that she wasn't planning on going to college.

Yoongi's situation was a little different. His parents weren't as supportive of his musical aspirations and just wanted him to have a good life.

And for a short while, when both Yoongi and Eunseong ventured into rapping and that progressed into them becoming underground rappers in the same crew for a short while - D-Town in 2010. They stayed together in the apartment above the shop, and spent most of their time together, writing or rapping or singing, or sometimes both.

Then one day, Yoongi came home to Eunseong with a poster, placing it in front of him. It was an advertisement for a competition hosted by an entertainment company in Seoul - BigHit Entertainment - called 'Hit On'.

She encouraged him to go for it, and so he did. He placed second, and when he returned home he told her that he had been offered a job as a producer and trainee there. And then, Eunseong would encourage him to do that.

Yoongi left for Seoul in 2010, leaving Eunseong to work in the tattoo shop and continue working on her music. She did that for a while, becoming the most popular worker at the shop due to her personality and tendency to sing along to whatever song was playing.

And whilst she was doing that, in Seoul Yoongi was training amongst several other boys and aiming for debuting. One day, whilst in the practise room, he was playing one of the finished songs that Eunseong had made and sent him, and it just so happened that one of the other boys heard it.

A couple days later and Eunseong recieved an invitation up to Seoul by the agency. She went, after discussing it with her parents and extended family of course, hoping to surprise Yoongi after so much time. At the train station, she stepped off the transport to be greeted by Bang PD, who had quite the preposition for her.

He offered her a position of trainee, and perhaps a spot in a group. He didn't specify which, but considering the difference in gender Eunseong knew it wouldn't be Yoongi's.

But when he lead her into a practise room after dropping her stuff off at a very small apartment, Eunseong would be greeted by the sight of her best friend doing what he did best - rapping.

He didn't even notice her at first, too focused on the group around him as they went over lyrics. But when Bang PD interrupted and he looked up, it sort of became clear to why she had been invited up there.

A joint visit back to Daegu to explain everything to Eunseong's family later, and it seemed the group training to become BTS had another member.

A female member.
