JUNWON was sitting beside MUN, just looking at the students play soccer ( or football to non-american peeps ).

MUN smiled as he watched UNGMIN play with other students, his smile not going unnoticed to the girl beside him.

suddenly, both of their phones rang, making both of them look at each other.

they took out their earbuds, put it in their ear, and answered the call.

" yes MRS. CHU? "

" JUNWON-ah, MUN-ah, we got a case. come to the front gate now "

" got it! "

as the two were getting ready to leave, UNGMIN called out to MUN.

" SO MUN-ah! can you throw the ball over? "

MUN smiles before running towards the ball and kicking it. hard.

" ooh...you might have kicked that wayyy too hard MUN... "

JUNWON says, but the said boy doesn't say anything, instead grabbing her arm and running away while the other students were distracted.

" geez- okay- dang, i thought i was the fastest one here- "

the two continued to run to the gate, their hands linked together.

a familiar cyan jeep enters their view and it stops right in front of the two teenagers.

MUN opens the door, letting JUNWON go inside first.

" another evil spirit? "

" calm down and hop in "

" okay! "

after MUN closed the door, they began to drive away to their destination.

" this one's quite heavy. he's probably eaten at least three souls "

HANA informs the counters, putting on her earbud while doing so.

" what's his level? "

MRS. CHU worriedly asks.

" i'm hoping for two, but it could be three "

everyone in the car tenses at her words, the last time they thought they were facing a level two spirit, it resulted in one of them dying and one almost dying.

" we have to get there before he does anything "

MOTAK comments, ending all the talk in the car as the counters mentally prepare themselves to face the possible level three spirit.

it was now night time, the counters were near the location where the evil spirit was last spotted.

" MUN, don't try to do anything on your own. you may end up getting hurt and losing the host. brace yourself. it's totally different from that kid's dad "

MRS. CHU warns the new counter.

" today is your field training "

" don't do anything. what did i tell you? "

HANA questions MUN, who was sitting on the other side of JUNWON.

the girl in between them however, was deep in her thoughts, tuning out the conversation in the vehicle.

" don't worry about it too much JUNWON-ah, it won't turn out like last time, i won't let that happen "

JEONGHAN spoke to his counter partner through their connection.

" i'm just worried HANNIE, what if something bad happens again? MUN is so new to this, i don't want to lose him or anyone else after what happened to CHEOLJUNG-ahjussi... "

JUNWON responds, her anxiety increasing alongside the painful feeling in her chest.

she could sense the panic attack that was coming to take over her, but she felt someone embracing her tightly.

it was JEONGHAN, though the other counters couldn't see him, he was there, hugging her with the intent of comforting her.

now, all the counters and their yung partners ( except for MUN ) already knew about the uncanny events that happened ever since JEONGHAN and JUNWON linked.

one of those uncanny events are JEONGHAN's ability to appear wherever JUNWON was, the other counters couldn't see, hear, nor feel him, but JUNWON could do all of those things.

so far, these two are the only ones who are able to do such a thing, which is truly an unbelievable sight.

JUNWON returned the tight embrace, wrapping her arms around JEONGHAN's slim but toned figure.

her yung partner caresses her head carefully, whispering comforting words into her ear.

during this interaction, the counters halted their conversation, the more experienced ones ( basically everyone except for MUN ) already knew what was happening and let the two be.

meanwhile, a confused MUN stares at his classmate beside him, who wrapped her arms around seemingly nothing.

he looked at the other counters, hoping to receive an answer, but he was met by their shushing gestures.

he figured that since the others weren't saying anything about it, he shouldn't interfere in whatever is happening with the girl.

after JUNWON had calmed down ( and JEONGHAN asking her for the millionth time ), the counters exited the jeep, ready to deal with the evil spirit.

" this is it. he tread upon this territory "

HANA spoke before walking around, trying to see where the evil spirit could be.

" that means he's out of our territory now. how do we find him? "

MOTAK says, basically repeating what HANA was doing.

" we have to, even if that means going through every house "

" of course, we should. he ran after a kid with a weapon "

MRS. CHU responds, worriedly looking around.

" i'm sure they were acquainted "

" MR. HAN, what do you think is for dinner? take a guess! "

" and a close one at that. she wanted to eat dinner with him. she wasn't wary of him "

HANA added, recalling the vision she had received earlier.

" the man looks about 18O cm tall, wearing a checkered shirt. the girl, a gyeongjin junior high uniform. "

JUNWON breaks her silence, making MUN look at her with a little surprised pikachu face.

" any other leads? "

" no, we just know they went this way "

" wahh...this is a huge area. we won't find them until tomorrow "

MOTAK says in disbelief ( and a little bit of complaining ).

" what's the weapon that the evil spirit had? "

" a chisel "

" a chisel? what's a chisel? "

" it's used to break stones "

MUN quickly pulls out his phone from his pocket, searching up something, while the other counters looked around the area.

" sinwang stonemasonry. there's a stonemasonry company "

at his words, the counters approached the boy to confirm, and there it was.
