( CHAPTER IV. 𝒅𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 )

𝑩𝑹𝑬 𝑴𝑪𝑨𝑫𝑨𝑴𝑺 𝑾𝑨𝑺 𝑨 𝑮𝑶𝑶𝑫 𝑭𝑹𝑰𝑬𝑵𝑫━━ there was no doubt about that ! After a long hectic day at Grand Army where just a few blocks away, a terroristic bombing had occurred, according to the rumors it marked the biggest attack since 9/11, the girl only wanted a fun, no drama-filled night at the party she had heard everyone raving about for the past week. Yes, perhaps it was considered juvenile to be excited about a party like the typical lower classmen but the Filipino girl quite frankly, did not give a single fuck. It would be a time to let loose and party with the people she considered friends, drowning out her best friend's non-stop talking about a certain boy who was deemed missing on all social media platforms by smoking out of the pre-rolled joints she had stuffed away into the deep pocket of her green army jacket. Plus, she had the privilege of scoring many hundreds of dollars from stoner rich kids who had no concept of money due to the many little baggies of white powder she would be supplying them, Bre being most of their area's plug.

Most of the teenagers she was surrounded with weren't really used to the idea of a run of the mill, friendly neighborhood female dealer. Most of the teenage, borderline drug addicts at the party were used to dealing with stupid males who would spend their well earned cash on something they didn't need in the slightest. That or they would give them a free pass on money, as long as they agreed to get on their knees on their messy cold floors and blow them. This tactic did not work on the Filipino girl, trust that many guys had asked if they could finger her for a free line. Bre McAdams was a stereotype, a raging, man-hating lesbian that had better things to do then let a random white boy fuck her because he apparently "caught a bad case of yellow fever." Yes, some guy had used that horrid line on her before, claiming that he could turn her straight if she would let him hit.

Back to the subject, Bre was supposed to let loose and out-smoke random partygoers, all while scoring cash━━ It was expected to be a good night but unfortunately, her plans were ruined after a good hour. It was none other than a girl she spent her time avoiding due to her undeniably fake ass performative activism, Joey Del Marco who had approached her around sixty minutes in the party. She that the friend they both shared, Evie Perez drank a little━━ Okay, a lot too much and according to her, she had been stumbling like a klutz for a good fifteen minutes.

Usually, Bre McAdams would not have been caught dead talking to the Del Marco girl as she could not stand a thing about her. You could say the two girls were complete opposites. Joey was popular, a girl who seemed only to pretend to care about the horrible issues surrounding her privileged life as she tolerated her friends micro aggressions and borderline offensive jokes. Perhaps it was a tad hypocritical of her to remain friends with Evie as she too was apart of that certain group but in her defense, the Perez girl hardly ever understood nor payed attention to the awful jokes, plus, it did not help that the two had known each other for thirteen years.

On the other side, there was Bre, a girl who was only popular when bombarded with questions about whether or not she would bring a stash to a party. Unlike a certain girl, Bre truly did care about world issues, this being shown as she attended countless of protests, when not being able to participate, she held fundraisers to help many charitable causes. If it wasn't for her harden personality and dark exterior━━ The kind that made parents weary, Bre McAdams would be considered a saint ! It didn't help that she had a drug dealing side hustle but the parents surely would not need to know about that.

Bre cared deeply for the drunken girl as the duo had been friends for over a decade. This made the Filipino girl hand the lit up spliff over to another one of her mere acquaintances, the two sharing their love for weed and hatred of Cool Mint pods. It would not be easy to find her friend in the upper class home, Bre knew that for a fact the moment she started her search for the girl who seemed to have vanish into the crowd of rowdy, irresponsible adolescences. The teens were dancing to the beat of the music, too under the influence to care about how stupid they looked as they swayed upon each other. The house was noisy and crowded, drinks spilling out of the red solo cups left and right, every few seconds due to their carefree attitudes abs movements. She was puzzled as to why Evie's typical friend group wasn't searching for her but then again, they were all douches. Bre truly wondered why Evie chose such friends, the only one she could actually stand was Joshua Lawrence, the boyfriend she forever neglected and who was also nowhere to be found.

Some people were leaned onto the many walls inside of the lovely abode, sucking faces as if their lives depended on it while others surrounded the living room table, their credit cards clinging from two fingers as they made small lines of the addictive white powder situated upon the fancy hard surface. This made Bre McAdams role her eyes at how desperate the teens seemed to lower their noses, inhaling the cocaine with a harsh sniff. She was not necessarily a judgmental person, she simply cringed at what they chose to spend their trust fund money on. Many would think that she would spend her time doing hard drugs due to the sole reason that she sold them for a fair price but that was not the case at all. Bre McAdams had never gotten her hands on anything heavier than a little marijuana. The harder stuff was not for her as she felt she didn't need to drown her sorrows by shooting up or snorting down━━ Even if she witnessed a traumatic event, losing her mother at a young age to a deep dark depression.

Bre McAdams wondered hopelessly upon the walls of the messy house, bumping non-stop into the many people surrounding her as the girl felt she couldn't get a moment to breathe. Parties were a once a month thing for Bre, sure she loved them but they could get a little much. It was far more barrable while wasted on cheap liquor supplied by the host but she hadn't had the time to wreck herself completely yet and it was not like she could do that right now as she had a friend to find and drive home.

Moments had passed, the girl's worry increasing faster as she hoped that a sleezy guy wasn't taking advantage of the poor drunk girl. Her fear began to die down once she spotted the Perez girl after she had been looking for her for a mere fifteen minutes. She out of the bathroom with mascara streaming down her tan cheeks, eyes watery as she attempted to wipe the tears away with her right palm. Evie Perez was not the type of person to show sadness, the girl choosing to suck it up and cry herself a river on her warm bed as she rewatched The Pursuit of Happiness for the hundredth time, something she did every time something went remotely wrong. Unhealthy ? maybe, but it worked for her and she stood by it.

" Evie ! " the girl shouted through the loud noises as she attempted to approach her, many people being in the way of her destination.

Evie Perez thought she heard a familiar voice shout her name through the rowdiness for a split second. A part of her thought her ears were simply playing tricks on her as the last time she saw the people she attended the party with, they were several rooms away, drinking the liquor of their choice without a care in their hazy minds. Nonetheless, it didn't take time for Bre McAdams to get her friend home after she finally got to the drunken girl.

( CHAPTER IV P.2. 𝒅𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 )

𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑻𝑨𝑿𝑰 𝑫𝑹𝑰𝑽𝑬 𝑯𝑶𝑴𝑬 𝑾𝑨𝑺 𝑸𝑼𝑰𝑬𝑻, 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑶𝑵𝑳𝒀  𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑯𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑫 𝑾𝑨𝑺 𝑩𝑹𝑬 𝑻𝑨𝑷𝑷𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑨𝑾𝑨𝒀 𝑶𝑵 𝑯𝑬𝑹 𝑶𝑳𝑫 𝑷𝑯𝑶𝑵𝑬, watching numerous Snapchat stories of her many acquaintances partying away, calming their nerves due to the eventful day. You could hear the blaring music as the colourful lights shined upon the boring walls. She wasn't quite interested as it ressembled every other high school party she had attended that year. Nothing really caught the attention of the gloomy girl before a very specific video popped up on her feed, this video containing John Ellis, the boy reported missing upon Brooklyn grounds screaming through his lungs in an excited tone as he jumped across the room, telling the crowd what had happened to him in a dramatic manner. The party attendees shouted along with him, hyping the boy up as he bro-hugged a good amount of people before settling down and grabbing himself a well needed drink. Her hazel eyes focused away from the loud couple of clips once she felt a head shuffled upon her right should. It was none other than Evie Perez, the drunken girl waking up to the feeling the familiar road she drove through countless of times━━ it was the road leading to she and her good friend's home. Though they were neighbours, Evie knew she would be sleeping at Bre's house instead of one her two homes.

See, her parents had gone through a fairly messy divorce when she was in her Freshman year. She had caught her shitty dad with the women he claimed was only an assistant pursuing the deed of adultery at a late night at his office on her way home from George's. It was scarring for the teenage girl to see but it did not stop her from spilling her guts to her unknowing mother as the two used to share a bond like no-other. Luckily, since she and her dad's relationship was strained as he was too busy working instead of spending time with her━━ a cliché really, it was fairly easy choosing who she would live with after the divorce. To make a long story short, Carmen and Evie Perez remained in their home in Brooklyn, While he bought a new and bigger home. It was little cozier than Evie expected but it worked for the two. Carmen got a job as she was no longer a house wife and she needed to pay rent.

Their once unbreakable mother-daughter relationship got strained after that, Carmen working more and now having to actually discipline her child instead of letting her now ex-husband pay their daughter to behave━━ odd parenting, she knew. As any responsible parent, her now middle-class mother hated that she spent her weekends drinking underage at parties. Being a self-proclaimed genius, Evie decided to lie and claim that she was spending her time studying at a certain Wright household. Her mom actually did not hate George since he and her daughter has known each other for years so telling her she would be sleeping over would be perfect. To say she would be a dead woman walking if caught sneaking in, reeking of cheap booze and weed as she tripped onto her own two feet would be an understatement.

Breanna McAdams carried the intoxicated girl out of the cab, paying the driver the good amount of money before entering the lightless household. The Filipino's dad was a pretty chill person, trusting the girl completely to drink and stay out late since she had to mature pretty quickly after her mother's tragic death therefor he did not care one bit once the smell of beer arose his home.

" For such a short girl, you're pretty fucking heavy..." mumbled the sober girl under her breath as she struggled to bring her friend to her room without a bruise from the decors. A groan was heard from the sloppy drunk, her head pounding as the hangover had already appeared to start due to the twenty minute nap she had just took in the taxi.

Finally she had reached her small bedroom, containing a bed shoved at the side. She put Evie on the comfort of her own bed in the most gentle way she could. She took the softest nearby blanket before placing upon her cold body due to the freezing New York City weather. Bre heard her close friend slur incoherent words out of breath, eyes half closed as she rested on her side. A random small trash can that doubled as a puking basket was placed onto the wooden floor just in case Evie would need to puke her guts out upon her awaken━━ which let's face it, she would need to.

" I'm such a fucking idiot... " Evie's soft voice whispered, this not going unnoticed by a slightly irritated Bre. A confused expression was apparent on her tan face, questioning what the Latina was going on about now. A drunk Evie was an annoying one and that was a fact, the girl being a the sloppiest drunk after drinking way too much.

" Like I have Josh and he's so sweet and kind to me and I don't even know. Like I'm cheating on him and I don't even know why... because he's not fucking me as much as he used to ? Because he doesn't treat me like shit ? Everything's bullshit ! "

A deadpanned silence washed over the dark room, her bloodshot eyes were stained with small tears━━ A drunk Evie was also an emotional one and they both found out that night. She was the kind a person to hide her sadness with sarcasm and it was becoming very evident the longer she spoke about her self-made dilemmas. Bre wanted to tell her so badly that even if she cheated on him on a daily, which she was in no way justifying, that Joshua wouldn't really care as he had come to her with a secret he had buried inside for most of his adolescence but Bre wasn't a person to speak about business that had nothing to do with her. Gossip was more of an Evie thing than hers.

" George ditched me for a Freshie and I'm here crying about a stupid boy to you ? Like I love you Bre but you hate him already..."  Evie chirped away with her soft voice, a hint of sarcasm plain in her tone. A sigh was heard from the both of them coherently, hers being a more 'desperate for help' kind of sigh while the McAdam's girl was more of a pitiful one as she watched her drunken friend ramble about things she would forget about it come morning. Her makeup was smeared, the foundation slightly spotting the white fabric of the blankets, mascara running down along with her small tears and her hair's usual loose curl pattern now laying messily on the pillow.

It was now so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Bre didn't know what to respond to her friend's boy troubles as she had never experienced them. The girl had came out as a raging Lesbian before even reaching Grand Army High School. Straight boys wasn't exactly a factor she knew much about, knowing that they ruined everything they touched was enough knowledge for her. It took a few minutes for her to think of a good response. At this point, the vaguest advice was probably the best one therefor that's what Bre gave out : " You'll figure it out, you're Evie Perez, you always do ! Just don't let a shitty boy ruin your mood ever again ! "

She was sorta saved by the bell as the drunken girl was lying peacefully upon the bed, eyes plain shut as she slept without a snore in sight. Bre took the time to place a few pillow on the floor beside the occupied bed, checking her phone a few times before repeating Evie's steps and falling asleep.
