'This is crazy! What's up with him?!'

These were the thoughts of 22 year old Rae, the new employee at 'The CS Enterprise'.

Well, apparently, she was working on a project she'd to ready by the end of this week. But she'd lost her concentration, mainly because of one of her coworkers, the one she liked to call 'the jerkster', Kim Taehyung.

Why, you'd ask.

Well this was due to the sudden interest he'd started showing in Rae, which wasn't very surprising, given the fact that he was known for his flirty antics, which was one of the main reasons which lead to her naming him, 'the jerkster'.

The second reason was his looks.
The first time she'd seen him, she was like,

'What?! Is he for real?!'

Yeah. And she was attracted to him since then.

But that's no reason for the weird name, you may say.

Oh, but it is. You see, being attracted to him lead her to involuntarily react to his flirtatious winks and smirks.

Which is what was happening right now.

Sitting in his cubicle, Taehyung sipped on his tea, while staring at her, nonstop. Sensing a pair of eyes on her, she tore her gaze from the computer, only to get trapped into an eye contact with Kim Taehyung.

Taehyung pulled the teacup away from his lips and licked the latter, only to bite on them to hide his satisfied smirk that was starting to grow on his face. Of course he failed to hide it miserably. He placed the cup on the table, and stretched his arms above him, still smirking, and then winked her way.

Red started rushing up her cheeks, but stubbornly wanting to hide it, she rolled her eyes, and tried to concentrate on her work.
A few moments of silence later, someone clearing their throat caught her attention, and she lifted her head.

There he was, again, smirking at her suggestively, winking right after.

Not being able to control herself anymore, she was about to open her mouth to slap his face with a sassy remark, when she heard behind her,

"Rae-ah, the boss's calling for you!"

She stood up, still glaring at the annoying young man, and then turned her back at him to walk the opposite direction.

Upon reaching the door to the Boss's office, a sense of uneasiness washed over her. This happened everytime she had to go near him.

Clenching her clammy hands, she knocked twice on the door. A faint 'come in' was heard from the other side, followed by her, entering the office.

There he sat, behind the mahogany desk, smirking at her, waiting for her arrival.

"Rae-ah, my favourite employee! What took you so long?"

"Uh, I uh-"

"Don't worry darling, I'm not going to scold you, you know that."

Rae, not wanting to get into an uncomfortable eye contact with him, looked down at her feet. She heard him getting up, then walking towards her.

Her heartbeat fastened. She never liked him close to her. He was...just disgusting, trying to get his hands over her whenever he could.

His fingers held her chin, forcing her to look up at his face.

"What happened darling? My eyes are up here." He smirked.

His fingers came in contact with her hair, lifting a lock of it up, and then letting go of it. He then started circling her.

"Hm, how's the project going on sweetie?"

"Uh, it's going well." She murmured.

He chuckled.
"Well, nice then."

He faced her again, grabbing her wrist lightly.

"You know, you should come home with m-"

The door burst open suddenly, revealing Taehyung. He stood there at the threshold with his hands in his pockets, and his eyes trailing down to where Boss held her.

She quickly snatched her hand away, and stuttered,
"I-I've to go, t-to the washroom."

She excused herself quickly and made an exit.

Walking away from the damned office, she muttered under her breath to herself.

"Freaking douchebag."

~**~

Rae dropped herself on the couch, exhaling as her muscles relaxed. It had been really tiresome that day. A few minutes passed by as she lazed out on her couch, the only sounds coming from the idiot box playing some random movie. This was her daily routine. Going to work early in the morning, coming back home around 6, and then taking a shower and having dinner, before going to sleep. The same old timetable, everyday.

She lifted herself with the little strength left in her, and dragged herself to the bathroom.

As the warm water hit her skin, she felt herself calming down under it, the strained muscles relaxing. She felt fresh and energized again.

After finishing with her bath, she walked into the kitchen to make herself a cup of ramen, and then made her way back to the couch, dropping herself onto it.

Slurping the noodles, she flipped through the channels on the t.v., resting at one.

"Gang meets are getting regular and bolder in the city. Citizens are reporting to have witnessed illegal activities going on around the city, which has the mayor worried to no extent. We request you to please report any such activity to the police, if taking place around you as-"

A knock on the door startled Rae, and she got up immediately.

She was not used to having guests usually, leave this hour alone. It was freaking 10 in the night. The neighbors, mainly senior citizen were usually asleep by this time and she definitely didn't have any friends or family here. Not at least in this city, no. And any couriers, nope I don't think so.

So it was highly unusual for someone to even knock at her apartment door, especially at 10 in the night.

Grabbing a baseball bat from the corner of the room, she paused at her place, so as to know if that 'someone' was still there or not.

Turns out, yes he was.

The knocks started out louder and louder by the second, a sign that the person at the other side was getting impatient.

Steadily, she approached the door, ready to swing the bat any second.

She removed the lock, and then slowly cracked the door open an inch wide, and peeped through it, to find a tall man standing there, a mask covering his face.

Having the door opened, the man pushed it to fully open it, but was surprised to find a bat swinging his way, mainly his head. But skilfully, he managed to dodge it in time and grabbed it to throw it far away from the girl's reach.

Entering the house, he found a terrified girl against the wall, ready to flee from their any moment.

His hand made its way to his face, and then hovered on the loop of his mask, maintaining a strong eye contact with her.

Hooking his finger into the loop, he pulled it away to reveal his features.

Taehyung.

Rae's brows furrowed from surprise, then confusion.

"What are you doing here, jerkst- Taehyung?" She stumbled on the name, almost giving it away.

A half smirk drew onto his lips. He began walking closer to her, in an intimidating manner.

Too close. He's getting too close.

A wave of dizziness washed over her as his strong cologne made way into her nostrils. And then she felt it. His arms trapping her against the wall and his body.

Not wanting to give away how flushed and embarrassed she is from within, she acted unfazed by the closeness between them.

Taehyung hums.
"Strange you still aren't pushing me away. Guess you trust me already. "

"I never said so." It was difficult to keep up with him during the eye contact but she managed to.

He smirked again.
"We'll see if it's the case, then."

Grabbing her wrist, he pulled out a small chit from his coat and put it in her palm, still looking into her eyes.

"Tomorrow. 9pm. Hudson Town."

He pulled himself away, and started to walk towards the door, but paused midway to look at her over his shoulder.

"And wear something sexy."

And then, just like that, he left, leaving a shook-to-the-core Rae behind.

~**~

On the Saturday night, Rae stood unsure, at the entrance of the bar, the name shining in bright big letters, 'The Hudson Town', the gates of which were being guarded by 2 big musclemen.

She wore a beautiful sleeveless, gold coloured and sequined short dress, reaching her mid thighs.

Upon entering the bar, she was met with alcohol in the air, and people dancing and enjoying on the dance floor. She ran her gaze throughout the place, in search of the one who'd invited her here.

She sighed, when she failed to spot him.
'What am I even doing here?'

"Searching for me?" A deep, low voice was suddenly heard behind her, and she turned around.

But only to find the owner of the voice missing.

Hearing a similar chuckle, she turned to it immediately, to find a smirking Taehyung, nicely seated by a table, a glass dancing between his fingers.

She rolled her eyes, not able to keep her her slight annoyance, and walked to his side. He ushered her to sit beside him, and she obliged, while keeping in mind to place a safe distance between them.

Silence settled between them, as Taehyung sipped on his drink leisurely, the only thing heard being the speakers playing pop music and the chatter and laughter of people. Wanting to start a conversation, Rae opened her mouth to speak.

"So-"

"So, you don't like the boss, I've heard."

Rae blinked, being interrupted by him with the statement.

"Uh, yeah. Something like that, you can say."

Taehyung scoffed.
"Why so?"

"Well he's kind of mean and sel-"

"He tries out on you right?"

Rae's eyes widened.
'He knows?!'

Taehyung set his glass on the table top, and then slowly, started to close the 'unnecessary' gap between them.

"He makes you uncomfortable. Disrespects your personal space, touches you." He stated, sliding a finger down her jaw to her neck.

Had it been another man, his face would've already met the 3. 5' heels of her shoes, and then the floor. But him, being Taehyung, she couldn't help but to surrender herself. It had always been like that, as if he had some kind of a strange power over her, which made her trust his motives.

It definitely would've been a lie if she said she didn't want him.

Because she, definitely did.

"Am I right?" He whispered, his voice hoarse yet attractive.

He placed a kiss of her jaw ever so softly, and then pulled away slightly after feeling her nod.

"Want to get rid of him?"

Did she?
'Heck yeah!'

She hated him with all her might.
"Alright...?"

Taehyung smiled.
"Help me then."

'What? How?'

"And how will that be?"

"Boss is going to be here, I think at 10.45 p.m. approx," he glanced at his watch, "You just have to get him to that room there." He bobbed his head in its direction.

Her brows furrowed.
"Well what after?"

Taehyung's sweet smile turned into a smirk in a blink.
"Leave that to me."

Rae's narrowed her eyes, skeptical, then glanced at the wallclock.

"Ok...But what now? It's just 9.40 right now. There's a whole hour in front of us."

Standing up, Taehyung buttoned up his blazer.
"Don't worry about that. I know what to do."

He smiled and offered her his hand.
Hesitantly, she placed her palm on top of his and he pulled her up, intertwining their fingers right after.

He escorted her to the dance floor, soft and romantic music now being played, and the lights being dimmed.

"You dance?" Rae asked, amazed.

"Of course I do." He looked at her weirdly, before answering.

He cupped her waist with one hand, and brought their intertwined fingers up to the height of his shoulders.

He started swaying them with the beat of the music, and felt Rae lean into him a little. Lifting her head, when their eyes met, a soft blush grew on her cheeks and nose, while Taehyung chuckled softly.

It was the first time she had let her feelings show a little.
And it was the first time he'd held a girl this close to him and this delicately.

Taehyung found her eyes similar to an ocean, and the sparkles in them similar to the reflection of the stars in a water body at night.

"You know, this is like hitting two birds with one stone."

"How?"

Taehyung grinned.
"I get to take my long awaited revenge and go on a date with you."

Rae giggled.
"Oh, so is this a date?"

Taehyung smiled sheepishly.
"It is right now."

~**~

It almost being 10.45 p.m. in the night, Rae found herself sitting at a table, nearest to the entrance of the bar, so that she caught Boss's attention quickly.

And right on cue, there he was, entering the bar, clad in a black suit, accompanied by two of his bodyguards.

As planned, his eyes immediately fell on Rae, sitting alone at the table with a glass of wine between her fingers.

Smirking, he walked towards her table, while she acted as if she hadn't noticed him already.

"Rae-ah! What a pleasant surprise!"

Lifting her head, she found him standing in front of her, smirking, and his eyes checking her out.

Faking a gasp, she immediately stood up, and bowed.
"Oh, Boss! I did not expect you here."

He chuckled.
"I didn't either."

"Please have a seat Boss." She used a sweet tone, batting her eyelashes flirtatiously and smiling.

It was as if Boss's face had lightened up.
He stepped closer to her and whispered into her ear.

"Well why don't we move to some place quieter and you know...emptier?" He smirked at her suggestively.

'Eww. So he really wants to die.'

Smiling ever so sweetly, she replied with a 'why not'.

And there she was, walking towards to room mentioned earlier by Taehyung, with Boss in her right. The only problem was...the bodygaurds were following them.

They reached the room, and Rae opened it slowly, and found it empty. Cold sweat surfacing her forehead skin, she stepped in, Boss right after, with of course his 2 men. The bad thing was, that he locked the door behind him.

Keeping her act up, she turned around to face him again, faking smiling, but found Boss loosening his tie, an evil glint clear in his eyes.

"Finally, Rae. We're alone at last."

He started walking towards her, and Rae's anxiety skyrocketed.

"Uh-huh...Not so soon DoonHae."

Taehyung stepped out from behind crockery holder, a smug smile on his face.

DoonHae's steps halted and he turned to him.

"Taehyung? How are-"

"Let's all have a seat shall we?"

Taehyung walked towards Rae, and sat her down at the table, beside him.
Watching their closeness agitated Boss to no extent. He walked over and sat in front of them.

"What are you doing here?" Rudeness dripping his tone, he kept his cold gaze at Taehyung.

But that didn't even affect him. Instead, he smirked.
"I'm here to talk business."

Boss scoffed.
"Business? You're just a 2nd grade employee at my company."

Taehyung chuckled.
"Oh, no no. You're wrong. I'm not just an employee, no. Guess again."

Boss frowned. Then it finally hit him and his expressions turned a complete 180.
"Y-you're-"

Taehyung laughed out in amusement.
"Oh yeah, I am."
But then his anger took upon his features.
"I'm the brother of Kim JungHyung."

All colours drained out if his face, and he stuttered,
"W-what do you want?"

"I want to kill you, just like you did to my brother, three years ago."

"You can't! My men will-"

Taehyung chuckled rolling his eyes, then raised his eyebrow.
"Just two?"

And just then he took out his gun out of his blazer, and swiftly knocked the table down, before pulling Rae down with him, and starting to shoot at the three.

Crouching behind the table, Rae stared wide eyed at Taehyung, who shot down the men as if it were a piece of cake.

Glancing down at Rae between the shooting, Taehyung smirked and shot her a wink, to chuckle right after watching her eyes grow wider.

In a matter of 5 minutes or so, two of the three men were down, DongHae being the one alive out of them, panting on the ground and hissing in pain due to the wound in his leg.

Taehyung approached him, stepping intentionally on his wound to make him scream in pain.

"Please, l-leave me!" He begged.

Taehyung cocked his head one side, tsk-ing.
"Come on DongHae, you really think I would?"

He held him by his collars to draw him closer.
"Just so you know," he glanced back at Rae, who watched them from a distance, then back at DongHae, "She hates you too."

He pushed him on the ground roughly and aimed his gun at him.

DongHae lifted himself a bit in the trial to escape but-

Bang!

And he was gone.

Taehyung pants a bit, and lifted himself from the body, turning around to look at Rae.

Rae gasped, noticing the amount of blood staining is dress-shirt.

Taehyung had intentionally blocked the sight of him killing, with his body, for Rae. He then took steps towards her, watching if she was scared or not.

Then he was in front of her.

"Holy- that was crazy!" She exclaimed.

Taehyung was a bit surprised to find her taking it all well, as he expected her to freak out completely.
He narrowed his eyes at her.

"You aren't scared?"

"Of course not. I mean, yeah, a little. But you won't harm me, right?" She asked, a bit unsure.

His eyes softened.
"Of course I won't." He answered sincerely.
He went on to hug her, but she stopped him, placing a palm on his chest, and making a disgusted face.

"You know you're covered in blood right? And that of that douchebag." She pointed at Boss's body.

Taehyung rolled his eyes, but then burst out laughing.
His laughter felt soothing in her ears.

Maybe he was a gangster- whatever the hell he was, he was good, at his heart, and Rae felt that.

"The cops would be on their way now."

She frowned confused.
"How so? Who called them?"

Taehyung rolled his eyes.
"None of us did, but do you think they didn't hear all the gunshots and all?" He said, mentioning the people in the bar.

"Oh, right..."

"So, Lee Rae...," he offered his hand to her, "coming with me?" He asked with a smirk.

Rae looked from his hand to his face, as he smirked playfully.

She rolled her eyes, but couldn't control the smile breaking through her lips.

Smile turning into a smirk, she placed her hand in his, and he pulled her towards him.

"Yup."

They chuckled and he pecked her lips.

And with that, they escaped into the midnight, young love brewing between them, leaving behind a messy scene with a couple dead bodies.
