renjun saw him the minute he
stepped into the new school.

colour drained from his
pale face completely.

at first he stood, frozen. he didn't know what to do. he hadn't told the boy he was coming. he didn't even know if he'd want to see him after he left him those years ago.

after what seemed like an eternity, renjun moved. in his usual emotional self, he didn't realize he'd started crying until jeno pulled his sweater along his cheek.

he still smiled like an idiot. but, if only renjun knew he hadn't smiled so genuinely since he'd gone. how his frown had replaced his then signature smile.

jeno brought him around the school. from the looks they were receiving, renjun assumed the boy had lost his popularity since middle school.

a frown fell on his face.

he turned his head. renjun saw a pretty boy with brown hair staring at them. he gave him a short smile before continuing on after jeno. the black haired boy looked at him and gave him a short wave. the pretty boy just gave a shy smile before slipping away once again.

renjun once again walked a little faster and linked their arms. he could feel jealousy bubbling in his stomach- but he had no reason to. he had been the one to leave, not jeno. he had no right.

letting his gaze fall over his happy face one more time, renjun felt something that he hadn't felt in such a long time.

happiness. renjun felt happiness.
for the first time in forever, he
felt an overwhelming emotion.

but that was shut down once
he had to return to china.
