EXIA was born as Park Seora ( 박소라 ) on November 8, 1995 in Daegu, South Korea to Park Changgyun, a successful CEO of Park Pharmaceuticals and daughter of one of Changgyun's father's closest friends, Lee Hayeong. Whilst details of what occured within the Park home during Seora's upbringing aren't detailed and mostly kept private, it is known that Hayeong murdered her first born - a son named Jinseok before going missing. Changgyun would later attempt suicide through forcing fifteen year old Seora to take pills and alcohol. Seora would later go and live with her grandmother, having survived the attempt. At the time, all details to the case and Seora's involvement was kept private, as she was a minor. EXIA herself decided to make it publically known.

2011 ━━ 2012 : PRE-GLAM
Seora would audition for several companies, being accepted by many before she chose BigHit Entertainment. There, she would train for a year before CEO Bang PD ( alternatively known as Bang Sihyuk) decided to place her in his upcoming girl group; Glam.
Glam consisted of six members: Trinity, Jiyeon, Zinni, Dahee, Miso and Seora, who did not yet go by a stage name. Prior to their debut, Glam was featured on 2AM's song "Just Me" from the boy band's 2010 album, Saint O'Clock. Glam and BTS were also featured artists on Lee Hyun's song "Bad Girl" from the singer's 2011 album, You Are Best of My Life. The group also gained spotlight after members Seora and Dahee provided the vocals for the vocaloid SeeU.
In 2012, Glam starred in the reality show, Real Music Drama: GLAM, which aired on SBS MTV from June 6 until the group's official debut.

2012 ━━ 2013 : DEBUTS, SINGLES AND DEPARTURE OF TRINITY
Along with the other five members of Glam, Seora debuted as the main vocalist, lead dancer, visual and maknae of the group on July 16, 2012, with the release of their debut single, "Party (XXO)." Later that year, they released the song, "The Person I Miss" for the soundtrack of the Korean drama, Five Fingers.
On December 31, Big Hit Entertainment announced that Trinity was leaving the group due to personal reasons and that Glam would continue as a five-member group.
On January 2, 2013, Glam released their second single, "I Like That" which sampled the song "Why Do You" by Chuli and Miae. On March 15, Glam made their second comeback of the year with the single, "In Front of the Mirror" which combined genres including Europop, trot, and hip hop.

2014 ━━ 2015 : DAHEE BULLYING AND BLACKMAIL SCANDAL, DISBANDMENT
On September 2, 2014, the actor Lee Byung-hun accused two women of blackmailing him by using a compromising video as leverage. Dahee and model Lee Ji-yeon were later identified as the women involved and were charged with blackmailing the actor for 5 billion won.
Simultaneously, it was revealed by BigHit that she had been subjected to extreme bullying and been blackmailed by Dahee, who was using the discovery of Seora's family to force her to do things. As defined in official reports, Seora had been put through years worth of physical and emotional bullying by Dahee, driving her to the point of suicide, as revealed in a later interview.
Seora would testify against Dahee in both Lee Byung-hun's case and her own. And on January 15, 2015, the Seoul District Court sentenced Dahee to three years in prison. The same day, Glam's agency confirmed that the members of the group had ended their contracts with the agency, and the group had officially disbanded.
At this time, Seora was not removed from the BigHit website like other members, and it was announced that she would instead be taking a short break from the industry.

2015 ━━ 2016 : EXIA'S DEBUT
Just months after the disbandment of Glam, Seora would return to the K-Pop Industry. Not in a group, but as a soloist. BigHit Entertainment released her debut announcement photoshoot pictures on August 1st, a video teaser on August 8th, and for the week leading up to August 15th, there were promotional concept photos released.
On August 15th, 'Gotta Go' was released on all streaming platforms and a music video on YouTube. 'Gotta Go' was a title track of her first extended play Eclipse. It peaked at number one on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart and "Gotta Go" reached number 2 on the Gaon Weekly Digital Chart.
Later in 2015 she would make her modelling debut on the cover and feature article of Vogue Korea's September issue.
EXIA's first comeback occured in 2016, releasing 'Dazzling Light' as her second extended play. It was greeted with success, charting at number one of South Korea's Gaon Album Chart for three weeks.
Furthering her modelling career and beginning her appearance in commercial photoshoots, Seora appeared on the cover of Paper Magazine, as well as being announced as the promotional model and idol for Kiss Me Cosmetics, Moonshot and Reebok Classic Korea.

2017 ━━ 2019 : DEBUT ALBUM, ACTING AND TOURS
By 2017, Seora had established herself and career within the industry, and the first two years of her life as a K-Pop idol created a base for the success that was to come. In 2017, EXIA released her debut album, titled 'AURORA'. Like her previous released extended plays, it peaked at number one on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart. Within the same year, she released her debut Japanese album
'UKIYO' which peaked at number two on the weekly Oricon Album Charts.
The 'Lunar Eclipse' tour began early that same year, and crossed the United States of America and Europe, as well as several South Korean dates. It showed as proof of Seora's success, as many of the dates sold out.
She widened her endorsements to luxury goods brand Dior, becoming a model for their clothes and cosmetics line. She also became a promotional model for Coca Cola in South Korea, leading to several stores selling out the product across the nation. That year, she featured on the covers of Marie Clair and Heren Magazine.
In 2017, her acting debut came in 'The Liar and His Lover', which probed her to be talented in that art as well.
In 2018, Seora became the house ambassador for Chanel, and later announced to be the international ambassador. Also, Olens Korea and Mise-en-scène announced her to be the new endorsement model for their cosmetics products in contact lenses and hair care respectively. She also appeared on the covers of Harper's Bazaar Korea and Dazed Korea, and copies were sold all over the world.
EXIA released two extended plays in 2018, titled 'GUMUSSERVI' and 'ELEGY'. Whilst 'ELEGY' continued the pattern of peaking at number one on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart, 'GUMMUSERVI' peaked at number two.
Following her acting success in 'The Liar and His Lover', Seora was considered, auditioned and received a role on 'Tempted'.
At the end of the year, she set off on her second tour, first world tour, titled 'Eunoia'. It continued well into the beginning of 2019, with just as much commercial success as her first.
After her world tour, EXIA released her second full album 'KALOPSIA' and her second Japanese Extended Play titled 'KOSAMI'. Like her previous releases, they both charted and peaked at number one on their respective charts.
Following the release of 'KOSAMI', EXIA embarked on her Japanese Stadium tour 'Komorebi', where she sold out every single date.
Amongst her Stadium tour and the release of an album and extended play, EXIA was featured on the covers of Guess Korea, GQ Korea, Cosmopolitan Korea and Elle Korea. She was also announced to have become ambassador for Hera and Burberry, as well as continuing her place with Dior. She became endorsement model for Kiss Me, Vinyl Makeup, Adidas Korea, Etude House and Lemona.
As well as her modelling and branding career, EXIA had a feature role in 'Arthdal Chronicles' and a larger part in 'Extraordinary You'.

2020 ━━ 2021 : SUCCESS IN A GLOBAL PANDEMIC
With the announcement of a global pandemic and the entire world on lockdown, EXIA used this as an opportunity to work hard on her acting and music career, as her second grade world tour 'Kalopsia: the Epiphany Tour' was cancelled and is set to be rescheduled when possible.
In the two year span, she released two extended plays and her third full album. The two extended plays, one being entire Korean 'MERAKI' and one in English 'DAZED' proved to be worldwide successes in ways that had not yet been reached by a Korean soloist, or a woman in the industry for that matter. Her third full album, released in 2021 and titled 'HELOPHILIA', followed the same success.
Like previous years, her brand endorsements and commercial modelling showed huge growth, adding many more worldwide-known names to the list. For example, Gucci, Samsung, Clinique, Aprilskin Korea and Aveda were new names, whilst many, like Dior, Espoir and Dior Cosmetics renewed their yearly contracts.
Although her previous acting roles had been large and widely-known, in 2020 she auditioned and was cast two of her biggest roles. First, as female lead Ko Munyeong in 'It's Okay Not to be Okay' and second as lead Hwang Miyeon in 'True Beauty' These series were both global successes and brought a new audience to her music, modelling and acting.
In late 2020, Seora was cast as the female lead in 'Snowdrop'.

Over the years of her career, Seora has been able to keep her personal life as private in the eye of the media.
There have been many rumours of her dating over the years, especially towards her love interests, and many friends, however Seora was only confirmed to be dating 'True Beauty' co-star and love interest, Hwang In-Yeop after filming and showing concluded in February 2021.
