Billboard-charting K-Pop soloist and former member of Glam, EXIA - also known as Park Seora - has been named as a female lead for the drama adaptation of the hit Webtoon known as 'True Beauty'.

She will be starring along side Moon Gayoung as Im Jugyeong, Hwang Inyeop as Han Seojun, Cha Eunwoo as Lee Suho and Park Yoona as Kang Soojin.

The idol, who has also acted many times in the past, will be playing Hwang Miyeon, a troubled teenager who left Seoul after the death of her best friend who returns at the same time as her former best friends, Lee Suho and Han Seojun, are returning to school. Miyeon quickly becomes friend with the main character, Im Jugyeong, and can no longer ignore the sparks of old friendships and romance returning with Han Seojun, who wishes to have nothing to do with her, but can't seem to keep up with that decision.

At the announcement, fans of the idol and the Webtoon alike rejoiced, as Hwang Miyeon wasn't such a prominent character in the comic and was only introduced as Seojun's old friend and as Jugyeong's new closest friend.

However, author Yaongyi has always admitted her own attraction to Miyeon's plot and wished she had the ability to write it. She didn't feel as if she could write the spin-off she wished without making it seem as if it was less like the original. For an extended period of time, Yaongyi would post parts of Miyeon's story at the bottom of her chapters, and despite the fans loving it, she never published the story.

With it being developed into a drama, it allows Miyeon's story to be expanded upon, and as she was always so interested, Yaongyi herself worked with the writers and directors, as well as Seora and Inyeop to develop Miyeon's story, even touching on Seora's own experiences in her lifetime to create it authentically.

Another drama that Seora stared in, It's Okay Not To Be Okay, recently released it's final episodes, and fans were incredibly happy to see Seora continue to act, as it was revealed to be a life-long dream, and wonder just how different the two characters will be.

USERNAME: I think Seora was an incredible choice for Miyeon. She is known to be a talented actress as well as idol, and, as a reader of the Webtoon, her storyline involves a lot of what has already been seen, then it's bound to be really good.

↳ USERNAME: EXIA really is beautiful.

USERNAME: Seora seems to really be exploring her talents as an actress. She's done a lot over the past few years, but her characters always seem to vary so much.
↳ USERNAME: Compared to the character in It's Okay Not To Be Okay, I think that Miyeon will be really different.

USERNAME: Wasn't see in Glam?? Is she going to scam and bully as well?

USERNAME: I wonder if it's going to touch on Seora's struggles with Glam? Or something like that?

USERNAME: Why is an idol suddenly into so much acting?? I don't want to see her face on my screen again

↳ USERNAME: Seora's been through a lot.. she's still working so hard on her idol career, so I don't know why theres unprovoked slander after all this.
