implications of self harm, and spoilers for
chapter 11 and 12 of romancing!

They had first met at the table reading, when it was announced that she, the female soloist in the hearts of many fans that seemed so excited to see her elsewhere on their screens. She had acted before, but it seemed that True Beauty was already reaching audiences that her previous acting hadn't.

There were some rather touchy parts to her character, things that didn't seem to fit the drama's usual light-heartedness. Eating disorders, abusive family, self harm. All things that Seora were familar with.

And all those things seemed to come together in a ten minute scene in the second episode of her drama. It mostly covered her return to Seoul after her character's life in New York, being introduced back into school and to Im Jugyeong and the students of Saebom High.

Hwang Miyeon was a more complex character. She was smart, rivaling Lee Suho and Kang Soojin's places. Best friend to Suho, Seojun and Seyeon, old trainee, moved to America after some of the blame shifted to her by an upset Han Seojun.

And even though Hwang Inyeop's character seemed to hate her, there was far too much history between them. He helped with her eating problems, her self harm, knew all about her family issues and were close enough before the arguments and grief-fuelled guilt that the nature of their friendship was questioned.

Park Seora and Hwang Inyeop had first met at the table reading for the new tvN drama, and now they were diving into parts of Seora's past that as an actor, she had to be professional about but in reality, was a little harder than that.

A day after the table reading they had met up for their first screen test together. Seora had already been through one by herself and with Gayoung, and that had determined her role. They hadn't bothered to do one with anyone else - Park Seora could act, and chemistry could be acted.

But with that screen test it proved that Inyeop and Seora were perfect picks for the roles. And it was at that screen test that the director approached and let them known that they might want to take some time anyway to get to know each other and become more comfortable.

They had done just that, and now a month later they were stood on the set of Hwang Miyeon's bedroom and adjoining bathroom, balcony door open and the person filming the beside the scene's video using it to show the two actors in the scene preparing below the small drop.

Makeup artists surrounded them, patting slight amounts of makeup onto their faces, brushing their hair and making sure every single strand was placed properly.

"I think I like wearing the uniform." Seora mused, looking up at the man beside her. She was trying to distract herself from the upcoming scenes. It had been decided that they would film two in direct order, in order to keep the emotion steadily equal.

"It's a little different to the one I went to school with.. but I could get used to it." Inyeop flashed a grin at her, trying his hardest not to show any sense of nudge towards her distraction. "I spent my school years in-"

"The Philippines, I know. You told me at dinner a couple nights ago." The Park girl replied, nodding at her words. It had been one of many, dinner becoming their usual place where their beginnings to 'get to know each other' started. "You went by Ryan Leon, Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School was your high school, and you later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in fashion design at Philippine Women's College of Davao."

"You have a good memory." Beside her, Inyeop was hearing his education be repeated to him. "And you went to School of Performing Arts Seoul."

"Correct." Miyeon swallowed, pinkie fingers ringing together as the director approached. She smiled slightly as she felt Inyeop's hand brush against her maroon coloured blazer, listening as he told them the set up for the scene.

She would be alone with a single camera operator, almost alone in a bathroom. They hadn't been given an exact script, just directions of lines to say and the idea of them just coming up with it. With a gulp she had smiled and nodded at Director Kim as they headed into the set, Inyeop close behind her.

The person filming the behind the scenes video appeared in front of them, filming the small interactions before Seora moved to her position behind the door. They high-fived smiles flashing over at the camera before they split up, and got ready to film. It needed to happen in one take, and Seora knew she could do it.

The man holding the clapperboard darted out of the bedroom-bathroom set, and the scene began. Through the door Hwang Miyeon came, locking it behind her, abandoning her school bag by the far too comfortable bed - Seora would know, she had tested it.

Tears were rising in her eyes at the familiarity of it all, as the cameraman followed her through the the bathroom, filming as she desperately clawed at the bathroom cabinets, trying to find something metallic, silver glinting in the dim light.

Seora's hands closed around it, taped to the top of the draw and yanked it away, sinking to the tiled floor with her back against the glass of the shower, clutching it in her palm.

Tears ran freely down her cheeks now, a mixture of very real emotions and acted ones, in the midst of it all, the blade slipping from her hands. "Shit." She swore, wiping the tears blurring her vision and hands scrambling around to find what she had dropped.

Her phone was ringing from the counter, Seora reaching to answer it and pulled it down to her ear. "Hello?" She mumbled.

"Hwang Miyeon, what are you doing?" Inyeop's voice had taken on the regular harshness that was often attributed to his character. It was nothing like how he had been speaking to her before the scene.

"Seojun?" She asked, voice wavering slightly. "N-Nothing. I just got home." She wiped her eyes, biting her lip to try and stop another tear from falling.

"Don't move, and don't touch anything. I'm coming over." The voice said over the phone. He was quite literally a few feet away, the director having decided to make it just that bit more realistic by giving them an actual phone call.

"There's no need, I'm fine. My mom's here anyways, she'll know if you come over." Seora's heart puumped at the rememberance to another scene that she had filmed with the very talented actress who had been hired to play her abusive mother. It hit rather close to home, if she was honest and just made it a whole lot easier for emotions to come freely.

"I'll get Eunjoo to let me in the backway. Don't move Miyeon." And with that, he hung up.

The shout of 'cut!' ended the filming and from behind the walls, came the call to start filming the scene almost immediately. A minute later and the man with the clapperboard had darted out of frame again, the camera operated now stood in the bedroom, focused on the door, filming as Inyeop pushed through the door and into the bathroom, moving down to take the dropped metal.

"Hwang Miyeon." The man said gently, eyes landing on Seora curled up on the floor, very real emotions flooding through her. He sat down beside her, a small sound exiting Seora's lips.

"Hey.. hey, come here." Inyeop was only halfway acting at this point, pulling Seora into his arms into a rather comfortable position, one that they had been used to. "You've got this, we'll just finish the bathroom part of this scene and then it'll be okay." He spoke quickly, chin digging into her shoulder and tilting away from the camera.

She didn't reply, but he knew she had heard it.

After a few moments more, they pulled apart, Inyeop wiping a tear from under her eye, first with his thumb and then a tissue. When the tears were all gone, he got up and took the cloth from a sink, wringing out the excess water, finger slipping under her chin and pointing it upwards, patting her face.

He helped her to her feet, leading her through the the bedroom to continue the rest of the scene, managing to get through it all. It ended as Inyeop moved onto the balcony and closed the doors, a second shout of 'cut' prompting him to fling them back open.

Seora was right she had been when the scene had ended, but the difference was when the camera was rolling, she had control over her emotions. Now, they came flooding back, hand clamped over her mouth.

Mouthing words at the only other person in the room - the camera operator - to leave, Inyeop was by her side in seconds, arms wrapping around her shoulders and holding her tight to his chest as they sunk to the floor.

The director took a look through the open door to the room set, eyes flickering over the two people curled up by the fake closet before he closed it, waving away the multitude of people waiting for the actors.

Director Kim had been aware of Seora's past issues, her manager had let them know as soon as they were known about. Inyeop knew about the problems, as did the other cast members.

It had taken a lot for Seora to make it through the scene in the first take, but there was no way she could have done it again. And as she curled up in the comforting arms of her co-star, the director would leave them be.
