personality  eleanor beck is arguably the smartest person you'll ever meet. with two PhD's, a photographic memory and an IQ of 186, she is by all means, a genius. she's is great at her job, and often finds things other forensics easily miss, and science excites her. she's not exactly the woman you'd expect working for the police, but she does. she often keeps it important to mention that she isn't one however. and that she is a forensic.

she is like stated, academically a genius. when it comes to the social part however, she is a wreck. she doesn't understand sarcasm and irony, and social cues are a nightmare. well, perhaps not for her but for the people around her. she doesn't make a lot of friends, but she's fine where she is. she enjoys staying in her lab and making sure the cops and prosecutors have all the evidence they need. this however, has often led her into unfortunate situations, considering she can often find herself so focused on getting answers, she forgets to sleep and eat, take care of herself etc.

background according to her files, eleanor beck was born on september 26th 1986 in toronto canada to thomas and annalise beck. then the family, along with her younger brother relocated to chicago illinois in july 2002.

in reality, eleanor beck didn't exist before 2002. and is an identity made up by the CIA, in order to protect her. eleanor's birth name is alina ivanov, and she was born in kyiv, ukranie. and raised there up untill she was 15 years old, when her parents (both involved in the organised crime scene in kyiv) were murderered. she and her sister nataliya survived, but were labelled dead anyways, and both given new identities for the sake of their own protection. it was heavily rumoured that her uncle was behind the hit on her parents. but they never caught him, instead he just took over the entire network her father had been running. nobody knows about her real identity, only her parents. saying anything about it would put her and everyone she loves in danger.

in 2003, eleanor enrolled at yale university. she was seventeen and amongst one of the youngest to ever attend. in four years she had two PhDs. one in mathematics and one in biochemistry. for a while she took up a job in teaching mathematics at the university of chicago, but quickly realised teaching wasn't anything for her. she developed her love for forensic science when she was 23, and quickly got herself a masters degree in forensic science.

she worked for the FBI for a while, as a forensic. but absolutely hated it. it was more about politics that actually stopping crime, so she found herself working for the CPD, and eventually found herself as the forensic for the intelligence unit, with her own lab on its floor.
