✸ REAL LIFE . . .
atarah, following her conversations with tory and kwon, retreated to the solitude of her hotel room to change into more comfortable attire. with only three more days left in barcelona, she was eager to embark on a solo exploration, as none of her companions shared her zest for adventure.
atarah emerged from her room, a sense of excitement in her stride. the energy of the city beckoned her to uncover its secrets, whispering tales of past glories and hidden alleyways just begging to be discovered.
as she navigated the bustling streets, her heart fluttered with the thrill of being in an unfamiliar place, free to go where she wanted without any prior constraints. this solo journey was just what she needed to rediscover her passion for traveling and to take back the reins of her adventure.
with anticipation building, atarah paid for her ticket and entered the mesmerizing world of the aquarium. her eyes widened in amazement as she took in the array of marine life that surrounded her.
fish of all shapes, sizes, and colors swam gracefully in the watery depths, while stingrays glided silently by and sea turtles hovered nearby. she watched, utterly mesmerized, as these creatures moved with such fluid grace, their presence a testament to the beauty of the underwater world.
as she continued her journey through the aquarium, she found herself lost in the beauty of the undersea world. the colorful fish danced before her eyes, a breathtaking display of aquatic life.
the vibrant corals swayed gently in the current, adding a burst of color to the already vivid scene. But it wasn't just the fish and corals that captured her attention. the turtles and dolphins also put on a mesmerizing show, their graceful movements hypnotizing as they moved effortlessly through the deep blue expanse.
for atarah, this solo journey was not just a trip to the aquarium, it was an immersion into a kaleidoscope of colors and rhythms.
atarah continued her stroll through the aquarium, her gaze still lingering on the fascinating creatures that surrounded her. thirsty, she decided to treat herself to a refreshing drink, her eyes drifting toward the nearest stall. however, as she took a sip, something else caught her eye, a figure that stopped her in her tracks.
atarah's eyes widened in surprise as she approached the boy, recognition dawning on her face. "axel?" she called out, her voice filled with a mixture of confusion and curiosity. she took a sip of water as she neared him, her heart racing with anticipation.
atarah raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on her lips. "i thought you said your sensei didn't let you go around," she replied, her voice tinged with surprise.
axel chuckled softly and responded with a cheeky smile. "he isn't controlling my life, just my karate skills," he clarified, his eyes locking onto hers.
atarah's face fell as Axel interjected, and a pang of guilt washed over her. "look, axel," she began, her voice quivering with remorse. But he cut her off, his tone stern yet tinged with sadness.
"i don't want to hear it," he said firmly. "i know what you did was a mistake." He paused, his voice cracking slightly. "i was too jealous to understand."
atarah's breath hitched as she listened to Axel's words. she knew she had hurt him, and the pain in his voice only made her feel worse. "axel, i'm so sorry," she murmured, her voice shaky.
"i never meant to hurt you. i was being stupid and thoughtless." she looked up, her eyes pleading. "can you forgiving me?"
axel's expression softened slightly as he looked into Atarah's pleading eyes. he could see the genuine regret there, and it touched something deep within him.
he took a deep breath and spoke, his voice a bit strained. "i.. i want to forgive you, atarah," he said slowly. "but it's not that easy."
atarah's heart sank at his words. she knew that she had hurt axel deeply, and that rebuilding his trust would be a long and difficult process.
"i understand," she replied quietly, her voice filled with remorse. "what can i do to make it right?"
axel looked at atarah for a long moment, his eyes searching hers. he could see the sincere regret and determination in her gaze, and it softened his heart a bit. "you can start by being honest with me from now on," he said, his voice softer. "no more secrets or lies."
atarah nodded fervently, the promise in her eyes unyielding. "i swear, axel," she said earnestly. "no more secrets or lies. i want to rebuild your trust, and i'll do whatever it takes."
axel's heart thundered in his chest, the desire to kiss atarah overwhelming him. he longed to hold her close, to feel her soft lips against his.
he could see the same fire reflected in her eyes, the same desire that seethed just beneath the surface.
axel's gaze fixated on atarah's lips, watching them as she parted them in anticipation. He stepped closer to her, his body craving her touch. "i want you," he murmured huskily, his voice filled with raw desire.
he reached out and gently cupped her face, his thumbs gliding over her cheekbones. "i want to kiss you right now."
axel's voice dropped to a sultry whisper as he drew closer to atarah, his words igniting a fire inside her. "we were interrupted the last time on the beach," he murmured, his voice laced with a hint of playful bitterness. he paused, his eyes locking onto hers. "but there's no one to interrupt us now." his lips curled into a sinful smile.
axel's smile sent a shiver down atarah's spine, her body heating up in response to his proximity. She couldn't help but lean slightly closer to him, drawn in by his magnetic presence. "no interruptions, then," she replied, a hint of mischief in her tone. Her breath hitched as axel's hand moved down to her neck, his touch sending jolts of electricity through her.
axel's fingers traced a gentle path down her slender neck, his touch deliberate and deliberate. he could feel her quickened pulse beneath his fingertips, her body responding to his slightest touch. His heart thundered in his chest, his desire for her growing with each passing moment. He took another step closer to her, his body now mere inches away from hers.
his lips hovered millimeters away from hers, their breaths mingling in the small space between them. his other hand found its way to her hips, his grip firm yet gentle. he leaned in closer, his voice a low, sultry whisper.
i've been dreaming about this moment ever since that night on the beach," he confessed, his breath warm against her skin. "i've wanted you so badly."
atarah's heart skipped a beat as axel's words washed over her. She could feel his warm breath against her cheek, the heat of his body just millimeters away. "i've wanted you too," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "every day since then, all i could think about was being close to you like this."
axel and atarah's lips finally met in a passionate kiss, the pent-up desire of weeks flooding them both. their mouths moved together in a fervent dance, each kiss growing hungrier and more intense. his hands roamed over her body, pulling her closer to him, molding her curves to his as their bodies pressed together. he could feel her heartbeat, fast and erratic, matching his own racing pulse.
as their kiss deepened, axel's hands caressed atarah's body, exploring every inch of her. he tangled his fingers in her hair, pulling her even closer against him.
sensei wolf and zara walked into the section and their eyes widened in shock as they saw axel and atarah passionately kissing. the two teens didn't notice them at first, completely engrossed in their passionate moment, until sensei wolf cleared his throat loudly.
that sound startled axel and atarah, causing them to break apart and look at sensei and zara in surprise.
sensei wolf crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at the couple, his expression a mix of surprise and amusement. "well, well, well," he said with a hint of a smirk. "looks like someone is busy." zara, on the other hand, stood next to him, trying to hide a smile. she had seen this coming all along.
axel and atarah exchanged sheepish glances, their cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and excitement. "we...uh...we were just..." axel began, struggling to find the right words, but sensei wolf interrupted him with a chuckle.
"you don't have to explain," he said, waving a dismissive hand. "it's good to see young love blossoming. just make sure you keep it appropriate in public."
he sighed and shook his head slightly, his disappointment evident in his voice. "i will admit i'm a bit disappointed," he said quietly, his gaze flickering between axel and atarah.
"she's from a different team, which was supposed to be our enemy. but it seems love knows no boundaries." his words hung in the air, heavy with both acceptance and uncertainty.
zara watched the conversation between sensei wolf and the two teens, her eyes darting back and forth. she could see the conflicting emotions on her sensei's face, the struggle to reconcile the unexpected romance with the rivalry between their teams.
meanwhile, axel and atarah stood there awkwardly, wondering what sensei wolf's final verdict would be.
he took a deep breath and looked at Axel and Atarah. "i can't say i'm completely happy with the situation," he admitted. "it complicates things, given the rivalry between our teams. but..." he paused, his expression softening slightly.
"but i know young love can be stubborn. and i don't want to stand in the way of something that could bring you both happiness."
axel's shoulders sagged in relief as Sensei Wolf's words sank in. he exchanged a hopeful glance with Atarah, feeling a glimmer of optimism. "thank you, sensei," he said sincerely. atarah, her voice trembling slightly, spoke up as well, her expression grateful. "we understand it's complicated, but we promise we will keep things professional in competitions."
sensei wolf nodded, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "i expect nothing less," he responded. zara watched the interaction, realizing the weight of emotions involved. "we trust you both to be respectful and responsible," she added gently, meeting axel's and atarah's gazes.
as atarah and the others approached the hotel, they were suddenly intercepted by hawk and miguel, who were leaving at that exact moment.
hawk and miguel froze in their tracks, their eyes widening in surprise as they saw her with the others. "atarah?" miguel repeated incredulously, his jaw dropping in shock.
atarah hesitated for a moment, caught off guard by the unexpected encounter. she glanced back at axel, then back at miguel and hawk, unsure of what to say.
"uh...hey," she finally managed to say, giving them a tentative smile. axel, sensing her unease, stepped closer to her, his presence a subtle show of support.
as miguel and hawk stared at atarah, their surprise evident, hawk blurted out a question, his voice laced with disbelief. "what are you doing here with a member of the enemy team?" his eyes flicked to axel, his suspicion clear.
atarah, uncomfortable under their scrutinizing gazes, swallowed hard and replied, her voice slightly shaky. "axel and i... we're friends. it's complicated." she could feel axel's reassuring presence behind her, his hand coming to rest discreetly on her back.
miguel's voice broke the tense silence, his words bringing both relief and dread. "we should probably head back in the hotel and explain this to everyone," he said, glancing at her, atarah nodded reluctantly
they all entered the hotel, tension hanging heavily in the air as they made their way up to the top floor. axel stayed close to atarah, their shoulders brushing reassuringly.
miguel and hawk whispered quietly amongst themselves, still trying to make sense of the situation. as they approached the hotel room, the sound of chatter and laughter from within could be heard, indicating that the rest of the miyagi-do team was already gathered inside.
atarah took a deep breath as she looked at axel one last time, his eyes holding hers for a moment longer than necessary, a silent message of reassurance passing between them. she was about to face the rest of the team and explain this unexpected twist in her situation.
axel gave her a small nod, signaling that he was right here with her. with a final fortifying breath, atarah pushed open the door to the hotel room and entered.
