ZERO, the prologue
( TW ? mentions of suicide! )
MORGAN'S BACKSTORY,
playing now. . .
MORGAN MARCH was only six months old, when her mother, Madeline March, rushed the infant to her brothers home. Madeline's brother Ted March was confused as to why his older sister was at his house unexpectedly that day, though he had agreed to watch over his niece for an hour. An hour had passed and there was still no sign of Madeline, Ted grew worried and began to continuously call his sister. No answer.
THAT WAS until Ted got a call from an unknown number. The caller only had to speak one sentence before the phone was dropped on the floor with a loud bang. This only upset the baby who had just dozed off, causing Ted to tremble more on the ground, his lip quivering at the news he was just given. Madeline, the woman he spent the majority of his life with, was... dead?
SUICIDE, WAS what Ted was told happened. How come she looked so cheery when she dropped Morgan off? Did this mean Ted was now the child's legal guardian? How is he going to be able to raise a child at twenty? Thousands of questions flooded his mind. Ted wasn't thinking straight, his own voice yelling at himself to get up, mixed with the sound of baby Morgan's cries.
AFTER A month of living in his small apartment in New York, Ted decided he could not raise a young child in this space. After searching for homes, Ted was convinced he found the best one for him and Morgan. He talked with the real estate agent who gladly lowered the price slightly because he was determined to get the home off the market. In the end, Ted bought the house. A lively, family house in Somerville, Massachusetts.
HE WORKED as hard as he could over the next fifteen years. While Morgan had made what Ted liked to call 'A lifetime friendship' with their next-door neighbors at about the age of three. When Ted was out working, Morgan would be over at the neighbors, hanging around with the triplet brothers: Nicolas, Matthew and Christopher Sturniolo, or Nick, Matt and Chris, as everyone else called them.
ANOTHER YEAR passed and Ted March was offered a promotion for his job in Marseille in Southern France. It took a while to convince Morgan but when he finally did, he did not hesitate to accept the offer, and off they went, two years in the south of France. Morgan and the triplets had promised to stay in contact, which for the first two months they did but the triplets slowly began to "forget" to reply, leaving Morgan upset.
IT TOOK her another two months to get over her 'friends' back in Somerville and actually start to make her own ones in Marseille. Two years of fashion school, parties, seasonal jobs, and speaking fluent French were over in a flash, and before Morgan knew it she and her uncle were on their way back to Massachusetts. Back to their old house, their old neighborhood, their old city, and their old friends.
COMING SOON.
