THREE, b-word waitress
"MORGAN DAVINA!!" Was all that Morgan heard before a familiar redhead jumped into her arms. Morgan stumbled back but managed to stay standing.
"Marion! Oh my gosh!"
Marion giggled, standing back on the ground and waving Giovanni over. The boy jogged over with two suitcases in his hands, panting.
"Hold on-" he spoke, cutting Morgan off from whatever sarcastic remark she was about to say, as Giovanni bent down to catch his breath.
"I thought the track team was paying off?" Morgan chuckled, embracing the boy in a tight hug.
"It's rest month, jackass."
Marion Fallon hugged her friend once again before raising her eyebrows at the three identical looking boys behind Morgan.
"Woah, bonne-mother-fucking-jour!" Giovani waved at the three boys, leaning down to Morgan's height to whisper in her ear. "Who are they?"
Morgan chuckled at her friend's reactions to the triplets, looking over to the boys before turning back to her friends.
"Mary Jane, Gio, these are the one and only Sturniolo triplets!" Morgan exclaimed sarcastically, using jazz hands in front of the boys. "That's Matt, Nick and Chris. Boys, this is Marion and Giovani."
A chorus of "hey" and "nice to meet you" was spoken around the five newly introduced teenagers before Morgan gasped and ran off.
"Where is she going?" Marion asked confused.
"There's a cafe that's only in this airport that she's been obsessed with since she was thirteen and she has a rule where she must get a matcha latte whenever she's in the airport," Nick explained, shaking his head with laughter.
"Of course she does," Giovanni chuckled.
Chris furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, don't most French people have accents? He thought to himself, there was no other way to ask so he went for it.
"Aren't you guys French?"
"No we're Mexican," Giovanni replied sarcastically, making Nick bust out laughing.
Chris looked taken aback but then understood the sarcasm and began to laugh with everybody else.
"We're from America too, we moved around a month after Morgan did," Marion sweetly explained. Chris nodded, understanding why they sounded so "American."
A few minutes later, Morgan came back with two disposable cups in her hands. She handed one to Nick who gladly took it from her, sipping the hot liquid before passing it to Matt's grabby hands.
"Are we going home or going out?" Matthew asked Morgan, jangling the car keys in front of her face. Morgan held the boy's wrist still, trying to drink her latte in peace.
"We can go out? Depends on what MJ and Gio want to do."
Morgan glanced at her newer friends waiting for their answers. Marion nudged the boy next to her, no ideas coming to her jetlagged mind.
"We can go out for a late lunch?" Giovani suggested.
"Sounds good!" Nick nodded, looking at the other four who were also nodding.
Matt and Morgan grabbed a suitcase each from Marion Fallon and Giovani, dragging them to the minivan for them.
The drive was filled with excited chatter and music from Morgan's playlist in the background. Matthew had decided on taking everyone to Morgan and his brothers' favorite cafe.
"You know me so well, Benny!" Morgan joked, messing up the boy's hair. Matt chucked, fixing his hair and getting out of the car last.
The group of six walked inside the well-decorated cafe, the interior was one of the things Morgan loved about the place (but not as much as the food).
Light pink walls, decorated with posters of movies, songs and shows from the eighties. There were shelves of plants, candles, books and tea mugs which Morgan liked. The floor was like a cliche pizzeria, with white and black checkers.
"Would you like to sit inside or outside?" a high-pitched voice snapped Morgan out of scanning the place, as usual.
"Outside, thanks."
The blond waitress gave Morgan a dirty look before scoffing.
"I was talking to him!" She stated, pointing at Matt Sturniolo's chest. Matt slowly lowered the hot-tempered blond's finger.
"We'll sit outside," he nodded, smiling over at Morgan who was grinning smugly at the waitress.
The waitress rolled her green eyes and violently turned her head and started walking, signalling for the group to follow her. Morgan and Chris bumped into each other and held in their laughs at how hard the poor girl was trying to move her hips and high-ponytail. They didn't want to be mean. To her face.
"Here's your table, let me know if you need anything," she smiled politely at Matt, touching his shoulder.
Matt muttered a thank you and sat down, while the waitress walked off. Purposely banging her shoulder into Morgan, who barely budged, causing the girl to nearly trip.
Once the waitress had disappeared, Morgan danced around in silent laughter, Chris doing the same after what he had just witnessed.
"Come on guys, don't be mean," Matt shook his head like a dad.
"Are you kidding? Were you even watching her?" Chris wheezed before laughing obnoxiously which sent Nick into a fit of giggles.
Marion and Giovani were laughing too, now. Matt glared at the five before looking at his menu. The poor waitress was just trying to impress him, it would be rude to laugh at her.
"Seriously Matty, it was funny!" Morgan giggled as she sat next to the boy. Matt shrugged, pouring her some water.
"Not really, Morgan. You were being a little bit uh-"
"You better watch what you're about to say," Morgan jumped in, pointing a finger at him.
"You were being difficult."
Morgan gaped at him in shock, turning to face Christopher who shared the same expression. Nick 'oohed' under his breath, making Giovani stifle a laugh.
"I literally said we can sit outside and the bitch yells at me?!" She defends herself, not wanting an argument to spike.
"She's not a bitch, she's just trying to do her job."
"Oh my, God," Morgan scoffed under her breath, deciding it was best to just ignore him for the time being. She turned to face Marion who sat across from her, leaning over the table.
"What are you going to eat, Mary?" She sweetly asked the ginger.
Marion Fallon hummed, scanning the menu before pointing at something.
"A bagel with avocado and bacon, with an orange juice," Marion smiled.
Morgan nodded approvingly, that did sound delicious. She then scanned the menu herself as Marion returned the question.
"I might get the loaded wedges with a green smoothie and call it a day."
Marion chuckled but nodded, to be fair, Morgan did have a matcha latte half an hour ago, who could blame her if she wasn't too hungry.
"That's all you're getting?" Matt asked confused, eavesdropping on the pair of friends.
"Yeah?" Morgan questioned back.
Matt furrowed his eyebrows and went back to talking with Nicolas who was also deciding on what meal he wanted.
Morgan shrugged it off and joined into the debate that Marion and Christopher were now having about curly fries and shoestring fries.
"Mary's right, curly fries are better. Sorry, C," Morgan smiled, patting the boys puffed out cheeks as he pouted. Marion let out a large 'HAH' and apologized silently after as she gained looks from other people in the outdoor area.
"Can I take your orders now?" The same high-pitched voice spoke. Morgan turned to look at the girl but almost howled in laughter as she had changed into a pushup-bra underneath her v-neck work shirt and now wore her hair down over her shoulders.
Morgan didn't mean to laugh at her, she personally thought she looked pretty, it was just the way the waitress was trying too hard to impress Matt.
Chris avoided eye contact with Morgan's, now watering, eyes as he knew he would laugh too. Not at the waitress but because Morgan was losing it too.
"Yes please," Matt glared at Morgan. Thank God for Matthew and his stubbornness, otherwise, Morgan would've never stopped trying not to laugh straight away.
"I'll get the chocolate chip waffles and apple juice."
The waitress smiled at Matt in awe, scribbling his order down in the tiny notepad. She then glanced at Nick, using her eyes to ask him to order.
"Berry waffles and a chocolate milkshake each for us three," Nick politely asked, pointing between him, Chris and Giovani. The oldest triplet accidentally made eye contact with Morgan, who was rocking around holding a menu just below her eyes, making him almost burst out laughing.
"I'll get the avo and bacon bagel with an OJ please," Marion sweetly told the blond.
The waitress wrote the gingers order down and glanced up, noticing Morgan about to speak and smiling smugly at her own idea.
"Okay, excellent. I will go tell the cook!"
Morgan scoffed out loud, in shock by the waitress's attitude towards her. All she did was say she wanted to sit outside! What is this girls problem?
"Excuse me!" Morgan sarcastically smiled, speaking in a sickly sweet tone. The waitress rolled her eyes and put on a fake grin, nodding at Morgan.
"Yeah, I'll have loaded wedges and a green smoothie please," she squinted her eyes and gave the waitress the most 'I-just-graduated-grade-one' smile.
The blond rolled her eyes, walking over to Morgan. The freckled girl gave her redhead friend a tight-lipped smile before turning to the peeved off waitress.
"I'm sorry, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
Morgan let out a laugh, shutting up instantly as she felt bad. She picked up her phone off of the wooden table and shoved the menu into the waitress's hands.
"It would be my pleasure!" She giggled, bumping shoulders with the shocked blond as she walked away, holding in her anger towards the green-eyed girl.
"Morgan—" Matt Sturniolo called out from the table, the angry brunette did not turn around but instead showed her middle finger to the boy without looking back.
Half an hour had passed since Morgan left the cafe, she had walked up and down the block a few times before deciding to eat at the street's local library cat cafe.
She sat with a book in hand, almond croissant and iced coffee placed in front of her as two kittens lay at her feet. Morgan was at peace, finally.
Just as she was biting into her warm croissant her name was called by none other than Matthew Bernard Sturniolo. Just great.
The boy walked into the cafe, stopping to pat the ginger cat that sat at the first table near the door. He walked over to Morgan and pulled the chair in front of her so he could sit down.
"Hey," he grinned, hoping she would've calmed down by now.
"Fuck off, Bernard," she rolled her eyes, mixing her iced drink and sipping it slowly.
Matt laughed quietly at the use of his middle name, he picked off a sliced almond from the croissant and stuck it in his mouth as Morgan helplessly glared at him.
"We're leaving now, if you wanna come home?" He spoke softly.
"Can't I finish my chapter and food?" She whined like a toddler.
"Fine, as long as you share half of your croissant with me."
Morgan rolled her eyes, halving the croissant and passing the smaller half to Matt who opened his mouth in false offence.
"You already ate!" She scoffed. "Your girlfriend kicked me out, remember?"
"She's not my girlfriend, Moe," Matt giggled, watching Morgan roll her eyes.
The pair sat in silence for a minute. Morgan glanced up from her book, shutting in and putting it back on the shelf behind her and then gently picking up the two kittens off the ground.
Matthew silently watched the girl play with the kittens, a small smile forming on his face. Morgan turned to face the boy, catching his eyes on her.
"I know this is cliche but, take a photo it'll last longer," she teased. Matt poked his tongue out at the girl and took his phone out to take a photo.
Morgan grinned widely and held the two ginger kittens up to her cheeks. Surprised that Matt actually wanted to take a photo. She saw him tap through some things on his screen before he set his phone down.
"We have to go, my girlfriend is harassing my brother now."
Morgan rolled her eyes at the blue-eyed boys' sarcasm and bid the two kittens farewell. She felt her eyes well up a bit at the thought of not taking them home with her but she knew it was only hormones making her feel that way.
Matt noticed and pulled her into his side as they walked to the door. Morgan thanked the staff and leaned into Matthew as the pair walked up the street and back to the minivan.
"Fucking finally!" Nick rolled his eyes, seeing the two walk over to where he stood next to Chris, Marion and Giovani.
"Sorry guys, someone got emotional about kittens," Matt joked, earning Morgan's elbow to his stomach.
The six climbed into the minivan, catching up and joking around about the events that happened during the day and laughing about it all.
