사십. A friend of a friend.

Sunoo's eyes and hands trembled, and Niki could clearly see that. The pink-haired one kept his head low, not wanting to meet heavy eyes yet.

Niki wanted to either run away or strangle him, he was even curious why he was applying to be a bellboy at his resort.

"Uh, this is our CEO, Nishimura Riki. We're in the middle of an interview right now, sir. Do you need anything?" The man bowed and politely asked, as Niki's knuckles clenched.

CEO? Sunoo thought. Niki owned this resort...

Sunoo peeked, making eye contact with Niki, immediately shutting his eyes and looking away yet again.

"Who's he?" Niki asked with no hesitation.

"This is an applicant for our bellboys." The manager then replied. Niki looked Sunoo up and down, thinking that he hasn't changed in the past 4 years. Still short, has the same facial features, just with different hair colors.

Niki snapped his fingers, facing his head towards the manager of the resort, aka the interviewer.

"Him. I want him as my new secretary."

Sunoo widened his eyes, looking at Niki like his life depended on it.

"B-But sir, there are more qualified applicants to be your new secretary-"

"I don't care, I want him."

Both Sunoo and the manager were startled about Niki's demand, not knowing what they should decide. The manager has never seen the CEO this demanding, he could lose his job if he says no.

"U-Uh..Sunoo, are you willing to do the job?" The manager asked, turning his head to Sunoo. Niki turned his head to Sunoo as well. Sunoo looked away yet again, peeking at the manager.

"I-I don't know-"

"You'll be paid double."

Sunoo gulped, hearing Niki speak about money, which was why he came to this interview..that took unexpected turns.

It was like Niki wanted him to suffer on the spot. Making such a decision would be stressful. He either helps his mother earn money but work for his ex-boyfriend, or he lets him and his mother go broke but meaning he won't see Niki.

"I-I.." Sunoo stuttered, palms sweating whilst deciding what he should do.

The manager just stood there, waiting for Sunoo's answer. He also hoped Sunoo would say no, he knows how grumpy the CEO could get when he's not pleased, so a boy who doesn't know anything about hotel management would be a burden.

"I-I'm okay with it.." Sunoo spoke, lifting his head and eyes up.

Niki's head looked down, lowkey smirking. He lifted his head up again, making eye contact with the manager.

"I'll take him now." Niki exited the room, leaving it silenced. The manager and Sunoo made eye contact, making Sunoo immediately stand up, bow, and follow Niki to wherever he's going.

-

Sunoo followed the one walking in front of him with utter silence. He wanted to start a conversation but he's afraid Niki wasn't ready to talk just yet. What could they possibly even talk about? The past? No, that'll just hurt them.

Whilst walking behind the taller and younger one, he could feel the stares from staff members. Why? Sunoo was worried they knew about his past relationship with Niki. That was too personal to share with even his own staff. The way to his office was a long way, and Sunoo just felt the awkwardness eating him up.

Niki opened his office room door, which was large by the way. His office had night-black walls, well-organized furniture, an elegant white couch, and a neat marble desk. Sunoo wanted to agape his mouth from how successful Niki turned out to be, but he thought it would be rude.

Niki walked up to his desk, collecting a pile of organized papers. Sunoo watched as he signed the bottom of the papers, holding them onto his arms. He looked around, everything was so expensive and modern. Maybe this was the payback that God has given to Sunoo. But Sunoo thought, it's nice Niki's doing well the past 4 years, he was glad Niki wasn't like, depressed or anything.

"Niki-ah.." Sunoo spoke, gulping, in hopes of Niki answering kindly.

"You are to address me as sir, and I am to address you as Sunoo-ssi. Any relationship we had before must be left in the past. I am your boss, not your friend." Niki spoke with a stern tone, walking up to the older and dropping the pile of papers in his arms instead. Sunoo caught them perfectly, startled by Niki's sudden action.

"Take these to the reception." Sunoo's mouth went agape, the weight of the papers getting heavier. He looked at the papers then to Niki who had his arms crossed, waiting for him to exit his office.

"R-Right now?" Sunoo asked from shock.

"Everything must be done as quick as possible, Sunoo-ssi."

Sunoo gulped when Niki spoke his name, taking small steps to the large door with the weight getting heavier and heavier.

"C-Can you at least open the door?" Sunoo asked, biting his lip. Niki looked at him with a blank look, Sunoo taking it as a no. He opened the door with his knee, groaning from how a pile of papers could be this heavy.

-

"Gosh, it's like cement!" Sunoo whined, fixing his posture so the papers won't fall. He was already walking down the stairs, saying a few excuse me's to the people he passed by. The pile was so big that his foot felt an empty space, realizing he had missed a step.

The papers fell, scattered on the floor. He threw his head back, sitting down on one of the steps, collecting them one by one. It was his 'first day', and he doesn't even know if he could do this for however long Niki lets him.

Sunoo fixed his clothes that were getting in the way when a hand gave him the last paper.

"Ah, Thank you." Sunoo stood up, bowing well to the one that helped him.

"How come I never seen you before?" The man spoke, smiling brightly at Sunoo.

"I'm new here, it's actually my first day." Sunoo responded, fixing his posture yet again. The man was good-looking, he had brown hair with hazelnut eyes, a neat suit, and a tall physique. Sunoo wouldn't lie, his kind and charming smile were very eye-grabbing.

"Ah really? As for what?" The man asked, offering to get half of the pile of the papers off Sunoo's arms. Sunoo gave him the pile, not knowing if Niki would be pleased if he got help.

"S-Sir Nishimura Riki's secretary." Sunoo spoke, feeling weirded out that he calls his ex-boyfriend sir. The man quickly turned his head to Sunoo, making Sunoo stumble.

"Really? Wow." The man gasped, squinting his eyes as he took a closer look at Sunoo's face. The pink-haired boy's head shifted back with wide eyes.

"That's cool, you look oddly familiar to the boy on sir Nishimura's desk."

Sunoo gulped, blushing immediately. The fact of Niki having a picture of him on his office desk made his head hazy, not knowing what to exactly feel. The two made their way down to the reception, placing the papers on the desk.

"I'm Riki by the way, I know it's weird I have the same name as sir Nishimura. You can call me Taki though! it's very nice to meet you..?"

"Ah, Kim Sunoo."

"See you later, Sunoo." Taki winked, jogging his way up the stairs like the way he was going earlier. Sunoo smiled, rubbing his palms together.

Could Taki possibly be his first friend at his 2nd work?

-

Niki looked at the picture frame placed on his desk, his hand slowly reaching for it. He looked at their smiling faces. He remembered all the things that happened to him when he was 19. It made him sad but now that Sunoo was working for him, it would most likely be hard to forget everything.

"Coming in." The large office door opened, revealing Niki's closest friend at his work.

"Taki." Niki spoke his friend's name, the younger taking steps closer to his desk. He peeked at what Niki was holding, the older immediately placing the picture frame down.

"What do you want?" He asked, glaring at his friend as Taki cheekily smiled.

"I saw Sunoo downstairs. He now works for you apparently." Taki rubbed his nails, blowing on it like a lady.

"If you're gonna talk about my ex-boyfriend, get out. I have things to do." Niki shooed him away, but the younger didn't budge. It was amusing and fun to tease his friend.

"He was walking down the stairs with a lot of papers. He dropped them and I helped him. You're being so hard on him." Taki moved his body from the desk to the couch.

"It's just papers, that's not even near as hard to the ones I'm giving him later on." Niki opened his laptop, as Taki watched him do his CEO duties.

"Why though?" Taki asked.

"Why what?" Niki responded, not sparing a glance at the one in his room.

"Why'd you make him your new secretary?"

Niki's fingers lifted up from his keyboard, looking blankly at his screen. Taki asked an important question, now he's speechless. Why did he do it? simple.

"For revenge I guess.." Niki murmured as Taki gasped, approaching his desk yet again.

"You really are bad, Nishimura. So what, you're gonna give him a hard time till he, I don't know, faints?"

"Get out."

Taki pouted, walking like a baby to the large door. He looked back at his friend, calling out his attention.

"Hey." Niki lazily turned his head to his friend holding the door's handle.

"How about making him jealous?"
