"Can't you do it some other time?"
Yuri asked, a very evident frown on her face, as she looked at a slightly guilty Taehyung, who claimed to have some important work that he had totally forgotten about.
He actually did have important work that he had completely forgotten about because of his excitement about spending alone time with Yuri.
"I'm so sorry baby, it'll take around one hour, nothing more than two, I promise," Taehyung said, kissing Yuri's forehead, walking towards the door, his car keys in his pocket.
"Can't I come with you?" Yuri asked.
"What? You wanna come with me? It may be dangerous for you, I don't wanna put you in danger, and get you hurt," he said, apologetically. Yuri frowned.
"What do you want me to do all alone here for two hours?!" Yuri tried a different tactic this time, trying to sound mad.
". . .watch movies?" Taehyung said, but it sounded more like a question. Yuri's frown deepened, and Taehyung slightly began panicking, understandably so.
Angry Yuri is scary Yuri, and her being on her period made it even worse.
Frankly, Yuri could easily waste an hour, or more, it wasn't a big problem for her. The only reason she was so upset, was because she didn't want to be all alone.
The thought of her being here, an unknown place for her, all alone, even for a while, was frightening.
She half wanted Taehyung's slow brain to realise that and stay with her, leaving all his work aside. But at the same time, she didn't want him to know that, because it was very silly and somewhat childish of her.
"Fine," she finally said, stoically, "go. Your work is more important, you can go. I'll stay here and watch movies."
Taehyung was so happy, that he didn't at all notice the monotone and angry tone of her voice.
"Thank you, baby!" He went up to kiss her forehead, before heading out. Yuri glared after his shadow in the dark night. She scoffed, angrily sitting down on the sofa with a thump.
"Work, work, work. All he does is work. He's such a workaholic! Ah, so annoying," she muttered furiously, grabbing the TV remote and switching it on with unnecessary force.
She kept surfing through Netflix, not knowing what she wanted to see. All she knew was that mercilessly pressing on the buttons of the remote was a nice stress reliever.
Around five minutes later, her fingers began hurting, so she just clicked on whatever was on the screen, not sparing it a second glance. She was too angry and upset to care.
She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down when sensual music began playing. She still didn't open her eyes, assuming that it was the intro's music.
However, when vulgar moans began echoing in her ears, she shot open her eyes, only to regret it after seeing two people having sēx on screen.
She looked away, a disgusted expression on her face, quickly changing the movie. "Every single movie nowadays is nothing but low quality pōrn," she scoffed, "who the fūck starts a movie with two people fūckīng?"
This time, she took care while choosing the movie, and ended up playing a horror one.
The starting was really boring, as nothing paranormal had happened, but Yuri knew that the movie was a nice one, and would soon start showing its true colours.
She was proven right, as around twenty minutes later, Yuri found herself hooked to the movie playing on the TV screen, seated on the edge of the sofa in anticipation.
The protagonist kicked opened a door, where she suspected a supernatural or paranormal creature was waiting to pounce on him, to haunt him.
There was pin-drop silence, both in the movie, and in the hall, until there wasn't.
A very loud and sudden whistle rung in her ears, causing her to scream and lose her balance, falling to the ground with a loud and painful thump.
Yuri's scream caused a very surprised Taehyung, who had just come back, to scream as well.
Their screams became louder when the protagonist in the movie screamed too.
Yuri recovered first, and paused the movie on the TV, which successfully shut down all the shrill screaming. She turned around to see Taehyung putting his hands on his chest in fright. His face broke into a cute smile upon meeting her eyes. She sighed, feeling her anger rise up again.
"Why are you here?" She asked bluntly, causing his smile to slowly droop.
"W-what do you mean?"
"Why did you come back? It definitely hasn't been an hour," she said, looking at the watch on her wrist, which confirmed that Taehyung had been gone only for a mere fifteen minutes.
"I came back because I missed you," he said, a cute pout on his face.
"Did you, now. . ." Yuri trailed off, with a slightly spiteful tone, "then why did you go in the first place?"
Taehyung looked hurt at Yuri's unexpected scornful behaviour. He had expected to be welcomed by a delighted Yuri, who would run into his arms, saying how much she had missed him.
What he hadn't expected, was this.
"Well, like I told you, I had important work to do," he explained slowly, trying not to trigger Yuri.
"Yeah? So why are you here? Why aren't you doing your oh-so important work?" She retaliated.
"Because," he started, stretching out the word, "you're more important, baby."
Yuri would've smiled if she hadn't known the real reason he was back early. "Don't make me laugh. I'm pretty sure you found some replacement, or it happened to be rescheduled, or something."
Taehyung laughed lightly. "You know me so well, it's scary at this point."
"Yeah, and it's pathetically ironic how you know absolutely nothing about me," she scoffed loudly. Taehyung stared at her, his laugh slowly halting.
"What happened to you, baby? Why are you being like this?" He asked sadly.
"Why am I being like this? Oh, I don't know maybe because you brought me here, to some unknown place, only to leave me all alone when you suddenly remembered your precious work?"
The harsh reality and insensitivity of his actions hit Taehyung, and he felt a wave of guilt wash over him, drowning. How could he have not thought about that?!
'That must've been why she was trying so hard to convince me to stay. . .'
Taehyung took a deep breath, taking slow steps towards Yuri. "I, I have no excuse to give, I'm very sorry baby. I didn't think about how you would've felt, and I feel horrible for that. I'm so sorry, Yuri."
He was now standing right in front of her. Yuri had a look of wavering anger and sadness on her face, eyes fixed on the floor. Taehyung felt horrible.
Gently, he took her right hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. His other hand softly pressed against her right cheek, soothingly tracing his fingers down her jaw.
Pulling her face up with cautious actions, Taehyung looked into her beautiful eyes. He could discern hurt and fury in those gorgeous, speckled orbs of hers.
"I'm so sorry, baby," he whispered, "can you forgive me?"
Yuri saw that Taehyung was genuinely sorry, and felt bad about his actions, so she couldn't help but melt a little at his apology. Three tear drops fell down her face without her knowing.
Taehyung immediately wiped them away, and pulled her in for a hug, which was when Yuri broke down, sobbing.
"Do you know how scary it is here? The wind keeps howling through the little cracks here and there, and it's such a frightening sound. I don't like being alone, I'm so, so, so scared of being alone, but you didn't know that, because you don't know many things about me," she kept ranting, hiccuping in between her words, face against Taehyung's body, who just rocked his body back and forth, soothingly.
"I'm so sorry," he continuously said, like a chant, genuinely meaning every word, "I won't ever leave you alone."
They spent a good twenty minutes like that, comforting each other, till Yuri's sobs became nothing but shaky breaths. They didn't say anything to each other, but words weren't needed, because they both knew that this incident had brought them closer to each other.
When their legs started hurting, they sat down on the sofa, and played another movie, which didn't have any screaming; they both had had enough screaming and crying for a day.
Taehyung found the movie moderately interesting, so he was immersed into it. Yuri, however, kept drifting away from reality, dozing off into sleep, only to be shaken awake when her head and neck was in an awkward position.
The fourth time Yuri nodded away, and woke up, Taehyung chuckled at how cute and lost she looked. "Let's go to bed," he said, getting up.
"What, no," Yuri mumbled, "I'm not even tired."
She then proceeded to let out a huge yawn, puffy eyes closing yet again.
Taehyung laughed, and picked her up, carrying her bridal style. Automatically, Yuri scooted closer to his body and the warmth it provided, cuddling in his arms.
"Don't drop me," she mumbled sleepily.
Taehyung smiled fondly, placing a kiss on her forehead. "Don't worry," he said,
"I won't let you go. . . ever."
