Chapter 21: Unexpected Surprise & an angry Uncle
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Mentions of Abuse
Amaya stared at Bea with mixed emotions after what she had told her
Miles also has the same expression as he found Bea's life story to be quite unbelievable yet still believable as he saw how honest she was being, seeing she had no reason to lie.
Bea looked at them, not knowing what to say or do as she waited for one of them to say something.
"W-wait," Amaya stuttered. "You're telling me that you're a genetically enhanced super soldier, created in a secret government lab." Bea nods her head. "And your mother is a super badass spy?" Bea nods her head again. "And that you two were taken away to be experimented on to be one of the few enhanced humans that physically and mentally perfect c-com."
Bea notices her struggle to say the words. "Commandos, and we would be utilized for a wide variety of Special Operations assignments and missions."
Amaya paced around, trying to process everything, turning to Bea. "You're joking with me right?" Bea looked at the irritation present in her eyes. "Like this has to be some joke."
Bea stood from her seat, she walked towards a column, balling up her hands into a tight fist, she punched the column with all her strength, as it was dented.
Bea pulled her hand back, looking as if she wasn't in pain from the powerful punch she threw, turning to Amaya who gaped at her in shock.
Amaya lit up in excitement and astonishment. "Okay, you are very serious." She took a seat on Bea's chair. "I can't believe this, I mean, I thought this stuff happens in movies, but apparently it's all real." She looked at Bea. "And you're a badass."
Bea shrugged her shoulders. "I'm nothing special."
Amaya scoffs. "Please, after what you just did." Realization dawned on her as she looked at Bea in horror. "Those men at the beach in suits, and the explosion at your house, you're in terrible danger."
Bea nods her head. "Which is why you need to stay away from me, being around I'll just get you hurt, or worse you'll end up dead.'
Amaya shook her head. "No, I'm not gonna abandon you, not when you need me."
Bea sighed. "You're not the one I need."
Amaya gave her a sympathetic look. "Your mother?" Bea nods her head. "I'm sorry, Bea, but you should know you shouldn't have to face this alone." Bea looked at her. "I'm here now, and I know we may not be that close but-"
Bea brings her in for a bone-crushing hug. "Thank you for saying such kind words."
Amaya smiled as she barely could breathe. "You're welcome, now please let me go."
Bea realized she was hugging Amaya too tight, pulling away immediately. "Sorry."
Amaya stretched her body. "You're good, now back to the topic."
Miles' phone rings, he picks it up, and Amaya and Bea turn to him. "Yes, sir, she's right here. She came to see a friend." Amaya sighed as she looked down. "Yes, the one that was in the hospital." Miles looked at Bea and Amaya. "Of course, I'll bring her home straight away." Miles ended the call. "Miss Amaya-"
Amaya puts her hand up. "Let me guess, uncle wants me to come back home?" Miles nods. "Should have known he would notice that I was gone." Amaya turned to Bea. "I'll come back tomorrow, it's a promise."
Bea gave her a small smile. "Yeah, just text me, I'm not even sure if I'll be here."
Amaya nods her head. "Of course." She brings Bea in for a hug. "Stay strong."
Pulling away, Amaya makes her way to Miles as they exited the warehouse.
Bea sighed as she sat down in her chair, she felt relief as she was finally able to tell somebody the truth about her and her past.
She no longer has to bare her secret alone, as she can finally talk to someone about it.
Closing her eyes as she leans back in her chair.
A loud knock on the door was what startled her, opening her eyes immediately, as the knocking continued.
Bea stood, walking towards the door, hesitating to open it, upon seeing who it was she gasped in shock at the person.

Upon her arrival at home, Amaya was met with the angry look of her uncle.
She stood paralyzed in fear as she knew running away would be helpless in her situation.
Miles stood to the side, knowing if he interfered it would mean severe consequences not just for him, but for Amaya as well.
"Do you have any idea how much trouble you're in?" Carter asked. He received no response. "Answer me!"
Amaya felt a stinging sensation on her cheek as her face turned to the side, she held her cheek as she stared at her uncle. "I-I'm sorry. I-I was just checking on Bea."
Carter scoffed. "You mean your pathetic blonde friend?" Amaya barely nods her head. "I don't want you seeing her, she's just trouble, a walking natural disaster."
"But she's my only friend," Amaya told him. "I can't abandon her when she needs me."
Carter started to laugh. "She needs you? She needs you?" Amaya stayed silent. "I think it's the other way around, you need her. She's been your main focus for the last two years." He walks over to his mini-bar, pouring himself a drink. "You know I try so hard with you Amaya, I give you everything you want no questions asked." He turned around to face her. "But it seems you don't understand how good it is to be taken care of, and not end up on the streets like those poor pathetic lowlifes you associate yourself with."
"Bea is not a lowlife," Amaya said. "If anything, she's more than that."
Carter stared at her as he laughed. "You make me laugh, at least that's one good thing you can do for me." Amaya glared at the ground, as she couldn't stand the sight of him. "Aw, why the long face?" She stayed silent as she knew if she answered it wouldn't end well for her, but not answering wasn't a good option either. "You see Amaya, you need to be disciplined, can't just have you running around amok, especially after the last few times you tried running away." Taking a sip of his scotch, he glanced at her, throwing his glass at her, but she dodges it in time. "You're lucky that it didn't hit you."
"That's because you have a terrible aim," Amaya mutters to herself.
Though Carter heard what she had said, glaring towards her as he walked closer to her.
He wrapped his hands around her neck, lifting her up from the ground. "What was that?" Amaya struggled under his hold, trying to catch her breath. "I had a terrible aim? I missed that shot just so you wouldn't damage that pretty face of yours." Amaya was gasping for air. "What? What was that?" Miles ran towards the two, trying to break them apart, but Carter pushed him back. "Stay out of this Gerald." Amaya tried prying his fingers off her neck. "The only reason you're here right now, is because no one else was willing to take you in as both your parents were awful people who did terrible things." Carter released her, Amaya gasped as she held her throat, tears in her eyes. "Get out of my sight, just looking at you disgust me." Amaya didn't move from her spot. "Go! Get out of here!"
Amaya stood on her feet, quickly running away to her room.
She shut the door, leaning against it.
Hearing it lock from the outside, her eyes widened as she turned around, trying to open the door.
She started banging on the door.
"Unlock the door," Amaya Yelled. "You can't do this to me!" Her breathing became heavy. "I can't take this, don't do this to me."
She sighed as her hands rested on the door, turning around, she walked towards her window, looking out, hoping there was a way to escape.
To her dismay, there was security outside, she noticed as they were walking around with guns in their hands.
Backing away slowly, she went to her bed, planting her face on her pillow, she started crying.
