Chapter 16: The Attack

Bea sighed as she leaned back on the couch, closing her eyes. Only to have them reopened as she heard pounding on her door.

"Bea!" Amaya yelled from the other side of the door. "Answer the door, please!"

Bea stood from the couch, hesitating as she made her way to the door, opening it.

Amaya brushed past Bea, Bea sighed, closing the door, turning around.

Amaya stood across Bea, arms crossed.

Bea raised her eyebrows. "Yes?"

"Are we not gonna talk about what happened earlier?" Amaya asked.

"I was hoping you would forget what happened," Bea replied. "And stay away from me for now on."

"Bea, if you're in some kind of trouble, tell me, and I'll help," Amaya told her. "I want to help you."

"You can help by staying away," Bea said. "You don't need to get caught up in my mess."

"But I'm the reason you're in this mess," Amaya said. She took a step forward, giving Bea a hug. "You're my only friend. In fact, you're my best friend. And I want to help you with whatever problem you have."

Bea pulled away from the embrace. "I appreciate hearing that, but nothing you say or do is gonna change my mind." Bea turned to the door, opening it. "Please go, I have some things I need to tend to."

Amaya frowned, walking towards the door, stopping. "I'm here if you need me."

Bea closed the door as soon as Amaya left.

Pressing her back against, sliding down to the ground, knees to her chest, she started to cry.

Bea jumped awake from her spot on the couch, hearing a sound that had come from the front door.

Quietly, she ducked to hide on the ground, hearing footsteps from the foyer and from the kitchen.

Bea had put her hand over mouth, stopping her from making any noise.

"Check the rooms," Man 1 said. "If you find her, knock her out immediately."

"What if her uncle is here?" Man 2 asked.

"You take him out," Man 1 told him. "But make sure to clean up the mess. We don't wanna alert the neighborhood."

"Is it necessary to have a whole squad after a child?" Man 3 asked. "I mean, she's only a kid, and we have 6 of our strongest men, including me. What can she do?"

Man 4 shook his head. "You don't know, do you?" Man 3 looked at him confused. "This girl is the daughter of Gabriella O'Conner. If she's anything like her mother, then we need more than the men we just brought here."

Man 4 looks at the men that were on the mission to retrieve Bea, knowing that she would be a problem if she were to fight them one on one.

But with a whole team, he would be hoping that they could bring her down without anyone getting hurt or worse. Killed.

"Fan out," Man 1 told them. "And don't let your guard down when you see her. Bea O'Conner is a force to be reckoned with."

Once all the men spread out, searching the rooms, Bea stood in the dark, her eyes glowering as she stated at the main man in charge.

Instinct took over as the other side of her began to show. Tiptoeing, she took the chance since Man 1 was distracted and nearby the living room, she jumped from behind, as her foot pressed against his back, her arms wrapped around his neck as she tilted them backwards, making him stumble, struggling to get free from her. Bea had applied pressure on his back, making him groan in pain. Bea jumped off him, landing in a crouch position. She slid her foot under his, making him fall backward on the ground, landing with a groan. He tried to get up, but Bea was quick as she kicked his face, making him fall back unconscious.

Bea kneeled beside him, taking up his gun, sighing as she looked down the dark hallway.

Bea turned as she silently made her way to the kitchen, opening the drawers and cabinets, getting some salt and spices, smirking, as she turned around, walking out of the kitchen.

Walking back to the unconscious man, Bea picked up his walkie-talkie, speaking into it. "You should have brought more men if you're gonna take me down."

Bea tossed the walkie-talkie across the rooms. As she hid behind the wall, hearing footsteps, she got prepared to attack.

Man 2 Walked out into the living room, Bea kicked the back of his leg, as he struggled to stand, Bea delivered a kick to his stomach, she pulled out her salt as she dropped some in his eyes as the man screamed in pain.

Man 3 came running out as Bea quickly spun around, kicking him in his groin as he doubled over, Bea spun around as she landed a kick to his face, knocking him down.

Man 4 came out from the hallway, gun pointing towards Bea, who looked at him unimpressed. "Be a good little girl and listen to what I'm about to tell you."

Bea glared at him. "I am not a little girl, now listen to me, you get your stupid men and get the heck out of my house." Man 4 only chuckles as Bea rolled her eyes. "I tried to be civil with you." Bea smiled fakely, quickly bending down to grab Man 3 gun as she aimed it at Man 4, letting out a hesitant breath as she pulled the trigger, shooting Man 4 in the shoulder then again in the leg. "Now there are two more of you, so if you guys can hear me down there, I suggest you reveal yourself before I start hunting." Bea watched as she saw two figures come out of the dark hallway. "Good, you actually listened, unlike your idiot comrade over here." Bea aimed the gun at Man 5 as she shot his hand, then his leg. She turned to Man 6 as she stared at him boredly. "Now you know I can't let you go unharmed."

Man 6 chuckled. "I think I should be the one saying that, I have backup on the way, and trust me, it's gonna be more men than what we have here. " He raised his gun at her. "Now, put your hands up where I can see them." Bea glared reluctantly, putting her hands up, Man 6 spoke into his walkie-talkie. "I secured the asset." Bea took this as a chance to escape." She kicked Man 6 in his groin as he doubled over, turning around as she ran through the front door.

Bea biked all the way to her hideout, making sure she wasn't being followed as she wasn't careful before.

Walking inside, she closed her door, leaning against it as she felt tired and out of breath.

Taking a step forward, she made her way to her desk, taking a seat. She laid her head down, briefly closing her eyes.

Her hand slowly started shaking as she began to sweat.

"Momma," Bea muttered.
