Chapter 12: School Sucks and Home Too
1 Year
Bea grunted as she was thrown to the ground, landing on her side, looking up with a glare on her face, holding her sides.
"Is that all you got?" Bea taunted. " I expected better from a juvenile delinquent."
Courtney Prescott stood above Bea, cracking her knuckles, glaring down at the young girl. "Are you asking for more? Because I'll give you more."
"No, I'm asking when you'll get that race done," Bea told her. "Because that mustache is not working out for you."
Courtney's minion grabbed Bea, holding her up as they restrained her.
Courtney slowly walked around Bea who sighed in annoyance, stopping in front of her, punching her in the face.
Bea's head flew back as felt something drip from her nose, looking down to see it was her blood.
It was around lunchtime, when Bea was eating by herself only to be jumped by Courtney and minions. They had dragged Bea to the bathroom, locking it as no one would be able to come in.
Bea glared as Courtney had punched her stomach, to be honest, Bea barely felt any pain or as the pain didn't seem to affect that much like she thought it would.
Courtney struck Bea again, as Bea groaned, trying to keep calm and not lose control or else she should have ended up hurting the older girl and friends badly.
"You're nothing but a weak brat," Courtney said. "Who always has a smart mouth. You don't know how to mind your own damn business." Courtney continues to kick Bea who rolled her eyes. "What? Cat got your tongue? No wonder your mom abandoned you, you can't even fight back or defend yourself."
Bea eyes narrowed at the girl, as Courtney was about to land another hit.
Bea suddenly pushed the girls who were holding her as they fell, catching Courtney's fist, glaring at the older girl.
Courtney struggled to get out of Bea's tight grip who squeezed the older girl's hand.
Courtney groaned as she went to punch Bea with her left hand, but Bea caught her fist, trapping Courtney whose arms were crossed over.
Bea head hung down. "Don't talk about her."
Courtney raised her eyebrows. "What?"
Bea looked her in the eye. "I said don't talk about my mom like you know her." Bea kicked Courtney in the stomach as the latter stumbled back a bit. "Let's see if you can take what I'm about to give you." Courtney looked at Bea confused as Bea landed a hit on her causing the girl to stumble back. "I'm sorry, did that hurt?"
Courtney glared. "You little bitch." She ran towards Bea who moved to the side as she stuck her foot out causing Courtney to trip and fall down.
Courtney's friends stood, ready to attack Bea, but once they saw the younger girls eyes which was filled with anger and hatred they ran out of the bathroom.
Bea quickly got on top of her, and began to throw punches, as Courtney tried to block her. "You think you're so perfect. Ordering everyone around like their lapdog, getting others into trouble for your mistakes. Treating people like shit." Courtney pushed Bea off her as she stood, holding her side. Bea stood too, not ready to back down. "I suggest you walk away or else this ends very badly for you. After all you have no one here to defend you or protect you, you're all alone, just like me." Bea got into a fighting stance. "And for the record, I thought I should let you know, but I've been trained in all different styles in martial arts, so you won't beat me."
Courtney ran forward to attack, jumping as she was about to strike Bea, who spun as she kicked Courtney across the face as the older girl got knocked down.
Bea sighed as Courtney laid on the ground, unconscious.
"Ahem," Someone clears their throat, Bea instantly turns around as she sees her principal. "Care to explain, Miss O'Conner?"
Bea was lost for words, knowing she wouldn't be able to get out of this situation. "Even if I tell you the truth, you wouldn't believe me."
"I'm calling your uncle," Principal Millsbury said. "Go wait in my office."
Bea sighed as she walked away.

Upon answering the phone call he received from the principal, Brian was disappointed when he picked up Bea from school.
The little girl was suspended for a week, for something she did not even do, she of course found it unfair that she was the only one being punished and not Courtney.
Bea could tell Brian was mad, he had not said a single word to her when they got in the car.
Bea had figured he would believe what the principal had said over her, knowing that she was too headstrong and relentless.
Once they reached home, Bea entered the house as Brian followed after her, upset.
Bea went towards her room but was stopped.
"Don't you dare go anywhere, Bea," Brian told her. "We're gonna talk about this." Bea sighed, turning around as Brian went to the kitchen to get an ice pack for Bea's now black eye. Handing it to her as she put the cold stuff on her face. "So, you're gonna tell me why you fought that girl?"
They sat down at the dining table, across from each other.
Bea rolled her eyes. "This is your fault, you know?"
Brian looked at her in disbelief. "My fault? I'm not the one who got into a fight and knocked a girl out unconscious. You're lucky it's suspension and not expulsion."
"I'm lucky?" Bea asked. "That's not lucky, that's bad luck. Uncle Brian I hate it their, the people there are mean and that girl Courtney chose to pick on me for standing up to her as she was about to hurt someone." Bea looked away. "I didn't start the fight, she did, she jumped me and had her idiot minions restrain me in the damn bathroom." Brian gave her a look. "Don't give me that look, it's my mouth and I can say whatever I want. Plus she even talked bad about mom, and you know how I get when she's mentioned."
"That still doesn't give you the right to fight back," Brian told her.
Bea looked at him incredulously. "You're kidding right? I almost could have been sent to a hospital if I had not defended myself."
"Yeah, well, look who's in the hospital now?" Brian asked. "Apparently, you banged her up badly."
Bea shrugged her shoulders. "She had it coming."
"No, she didn't," Brian told her. "You're gonna give her a handwritten apology, expressing how sorry you are for your actions."
Bea scoffs. "The hell I am. I'm not giving her a stupid letter."
"Yes, you are," Brian told her. "You'll give it to her tomorrow."
"You know you're so good at this whole parenting thing," Bea told him sarcastically as she stood from her seat. "You should think about getting a degree in child psychology, you'll do great in it."
"I never asked for this you know," Brian told her as he stood up as well. "It is not my job or responsibility to take care of you. It is your mother's job, your father is not in the picture, your mother is nowhere to be found." Bea glared at him. "Your mother abandoned you, just like she did me!"
"My mom didn't abandon me!" Bea yelled. "Nor did she abandon you! It was for your own safety!"
"My safety?" Brian repeated. "She left me alone to deal shit that I didn't want to deal with. She left when I needed her the most! You don't understand the hell your mother and I have been through, growing up."
"I know enough," Bea told him. "She told me all about what happened! Between your father and her and what he would do to you guys."
"You really know it all," Brian told her. "Trust me kid, you don't know your mother at all or me for that matter."
"I know that she cares for me," Bea said. "I know that she loves me and wants the best for me, and that's what she wanted for you too."
"Oh, really?" Brian asked. "You know your mother tended to be selfless sometimes but most of the time she was self-centered and selfish. You don't know your mother the way I do, to think she would do the same thing she did me, to you, leave you when you need her the most. I just don't understand why she would do this."
"To protect me," Bea told him. "From bad people."
Brian scoffs. "It is just like her to get herself involved in some bad shit."
Bea shook her head. "She said you wouldn't understand, and that you will never understand why she left the way she did."
"She said that?" Brian asked.
"And more," Bea told him.
"You know, it's all coming back to me," Brian said. "Of course. Everything, all the lying and secrecy, the late night talks, the sneaking out." Bea furrowed her eyebrows, confused. "And you know what? You're just like her!"
Bea scoffs. "Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah!" Brian exclaimed.
"You think you're right about everything!" Brian told her. "Just like her!"
"What else?" Bea asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"You scrunch your nose when you get angry just like her!" Brian said.
Bea glared at him. "Keep it coming."
"You're always working on me with those big blue eyes," Brian said. "Well, I actually like that, it's really cute." Bea rolled her eyes. "But it doesn't matter, because it's just like her!
"Is that all you got?" Bea asked.
"And then you get inside people's minds," Brian told her. "And you drive them crazy! Just like her!"
"Well, at least I got a mind," Bea told him. "Because if I didn't, I'd be just like you!"
"Well, I'm lucky," Brian told her. "Because as far as I'm concerned, you are nothing like me!"
"Good!" Bea said. "Because I am sick of it here."
"What do you want from me?" Brian asked as Bea turned her back on him, walking towards her room. "Don't turn your back on me, little lady. Tell me what you want!"
Bea turned around, tears in her eyes. "My mom!"
Bea walked into her room, and slammed the door, locking it.
Brian sighed, walking up to her door. "Hey, open the door."
"No!" Bea yelled. "Leave me alone! I don't want to talk to you or see your stupid face!"
Brian sighed as he walked away fron the door.
Bea began to cry as she berries her face in her pillow.

Bea and Brian's fight was intense, but hopefully, those two can get past their differences and reconcile, though they are a lot alike than different.
Given both being left behind by Gabriella and how they both felt lonely when she left them.
Though she had very good reasons for being and Bea understood why.
But Brian never really got the closure he wanted as he was left in the dark when she left him all those years ago.
Bea knows why she left, but isn't telling Brian anything as she is very stubborn
