A younger THE LIBRARIAN and THE EMPATH were sat at the table with their grandfather, as he showed them photographs of his childhood and his friends in the loop he grew up in.

"This," Their grandfather held up a worn out photo containing a woman dressed in all black, holding an umbrella, "is THE YMBRYNE. She is the creator of the loop, which means she can control time."

He starts imitating a bird flying with his hands. "She can also turn into a bird!"

The two children let out two identical "woah" 's.

The man soon put down the photo, just to pick up another one. It was of a girl with red hair and long black gloves. "This is THE FIRE STARTER, she can make fires. She wears special leather gloves so she doesn't accidentally set the house on fire."

"Has that happened before, Grandpa?" THE LIBRARIAN asked curiously, to which the older man nodded.

"Yes, safe to say the bird was quite angry." Their grandfather chuckled fondly at the memory, putting the photo down.

The next one was of a boy picking up a girl with one hand, as if it were a feather. "That boy is THE STRENGTH, and that's THE WEATHER GIRL."

"Woah, he's picking her up with one hand!" THE EMPATH points out enthusiastically, leaning closer to get a better look at the picture.

The elder chuckled at his granddaughter's amazement. "Yes, THE STRENGTH is really strong. He has the strength of 11 men combined."

"What can she do, grandpa?" THE LIBRARIAN asks, pointing to the girl.

"She can control the weather." The man informs. "Whenever she was sad, she'd make it rain. When she was happy, the sun would glow brighter than it ever had before."

"I hope she was never sad, because i hate the rain." THE EMPATH says.

Their grandfather pulls out the final photo. "Finally, this is THE DEAD RISER. They can animate objects, make them dance about. But THE DEAD RISER didn't do that."

"What did they do?" THE EMPATH asks.

"They would create these objects into weapons. They would animate dolls and make them fight eachother."

"How would they do that?" THE LIBRARIAN questions.

"By inserting a heart into the doll. Each heart differed in strength. For example, a mouse's heart wouldn't be as strong as a sheep's heart. So they'd use different hearts depending on how much stamina they'd want the doll to have."

"Thats so gross." "Thats so cool." The children exclaimed at the same time.

"I wish I had powers." THE EMPATH sulked.

"You never know, you and your brother could be peculiar, and you just don't know it yet."

The subject is swiftly changed, "Come on now, off to bed, you two. Your parents will be home soon."
