˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ THEY STEPPED OFF OF the ferry with their respective suitcases. steven had his daughter's as she was complaining about it being too heavy, and now she was free to roam around.
"isn't it wonderful?" she smiles to her brother, beaming with joy. you wouldn't even know that the girl had experienced such a loss not even a month ago.
"well it's no florida," their dad sighs, "but i suppose it'll do for a couple weeks."
"i'd totally live here." ania-grace gushes, "imagine waking up to hear and see the ocean every morning. it's like heaven."
they carry on walking, and eventually find the hotel.
from the outside, it looks like your average inn, old and worn out. from the inside, it looked like your average pub, stairs leading to what they only could assume was where they would be staying.
"hello?" steven tapped the rusty bell on the counter of the bar, "is anyone here?"
a door then opened, a man wheeling an older one in a wheelchair. "sorry about that, was helping uncle bobby to the bathroom." he had a thick welsh accent.
the guy looked like your general bartender, a white cloth tucked in his waist apron.
"lenny." he introduces, holding his hand out for their father to shake, and steven hesitates, but does it anyway. "i take it you're the americans who booked the upstairs room?"
steven nods, "im steven, these are my kids atticus," lenny looks to the younger boy, who does an awakward wave "and ania." who adds a smile, waving kindly.
"well, best get you lot up to your rooms then, eh?"

it was dinner time for the peculiars, so everyone was sat in their respective seats at the table.
miss bria cerise was sat at the head of the table, bella and marie sat closest to her. the other end of the table held elizabeth, two empty seats either side of her, zach and mira closest to one side.
in the middle, were the rest of the peculiars.
"have you had any interesting dreams then, cinnie?" ascilius nudges the younger girl sat next to him.
"yes, actually." hyacinth smiles. "i'm very excited to show you all."
"ooh, do tell." astrella-xiosien smirks, leaning over ascilius slightly.
"ascilius, stella, what did we say about harassing hyacinth before movie night?" miss cerise cuts in sternly, raising her eyebrow at the two mischievous peculiars.
"but miss cerise!" astrella practically whines. "we just wanted to know what to expect!"
"yeah," ascilius adds, "we don't want to watch her bake cakes for like the millionth time."
"hey!" hyacinth glares, "asc, you told me you liked those!"
"oops?"
the peculiars sat farthest from the headmistress, zach and mira were conversing quietly.
"so," the boy starts, "do you want to sneak off to the beach after this?"
"and suffer a gruesome death by the bird? yeah no thanks." mira scoffs. "come onn, don't be boring." zach practically groans.
the girl thinks for a moment, before sighing. "fine. but if we're caught you're-"
"taking all the blame, i know. you say it every time, mer."
"yet you still suggest it?" mirabelle raises an eyebrow, a teasing smirk on her face.
"shut up." he mumbles, going back to his food.
dinner carries on uneventfully, until everyone was now finished.
"right, should we get ready for movie night?" miss cerise smiles to her children.
bella cheers, getting up and going straight to the living room.
the other children follow, along with astrella and ascilius attempting to sneak away before miss cerise catches them.
"not so fast, you two. you both have dish duty."
by doing it so often, surely they should know how to successfully sneak off before the bird catches them by now.
but she does it every time.
-
everyone is now gathered in the living room.
astrella-xiosien and edith were sat on one side of the sofa, ascilius squeezing between, giving his best friend a grin, to which she glared right back at him.
"i might not be able to see you, but i can still kick your ass." astrella hissed.
"what are you gonna do? make your bees sting me?"
on the other side of the sofa, were isabella and elizabeth. the younger girl was chatting away, the older one pretending to be interested.
"can i take your dollies for a tea party tomorrow, elizabeth?" bella looked up with those doe eyes you can barely say no to.
"i suppose you can, bella." elizabeth smiled gently at the child.
bella was the only person, besides miss cerise, who gave elizabeth the time of day. she was truly attached, and really appreciated the older girl.
marie walks in the room with a large tray of hot chocolates, handing them around.
"here you go, you two." she hands both bella and elizabeth a cup of hot chocolate.
"marie," elizabeth puts her cup on the tray. "i don't like chocolate."
"oh." the girl stops. "i'm sorry, i forgot."
"yeah. it doesn't matter anyway." elizabeth dismisses. 'totally not like she forgets every movie night', she thinks sarcastically.
the mishap is forgotten by the redhead in a mere matter of seconds, as she is going to all the children, giving them their respective hot drinks.
"where's zach and mira? i made them hot chocolates too."
"they're at the beach again." astrella rolls her eyes
"zachy-poo's probably making his moves on mira." ascilius pretends to kiss astrella, making over-exaggerated noises.
stella pushes him off. "you're disgusting."
"just giving them the show we saw the other day. zach really doesn't know how to kiss-"
"they believe they're so sneaky." miss cerise chuckles, checking her pocket watch. "they should be back at exactly 1:28, after the reset when everyone is asleep."
"can we start the movie now?" bella asks sweetly.
miss cerise nods, signalling to hyacinth.
she was sat in the middle of the floor on a pillow, another pillow next to her. she closes her eyes for a moment, then re-opening them.
her eyes shone a bright white light, like a projector, and her dream was now displayed in front of everyone.
the dream started with hyacinth in the kitchen, baking yet another cake.
"i thought you said it was interesting?" astrella raises an eyebrow, and edith lightly smacks her arm.
"come on, edie, you can't tell me this isn't boring-"
"it's nice. don't be mean."
"shut up, wait and see." hyacinth tells astrella. it sounded very foreign coming out of her mouth, as her voice was always so soft spoken, like a fairy.
the dream shifted to three people getting off the ferry.
"isn't it wonderful?" the only girl beams, spinning around to see her surroundings. she had beautiful long brown hair, bangs that seemed to stay in place even though she was prancing around. she had blue eyes that could captivate anyone.
and they did. elizabeth could not stop staring.
the boy she was speaking to wasn't much older than her, and looked relatively similar, most likely her brother. he also had brown hair, and instead of blue eyes, he had the most gorgeous brown eyes.
like elizabeth, marie was also captivated.
before the dream could go further, miss cerise cut in. "alright, thats enough for tonight. off to bed."
everyone groaned except elizabeth and marie, who sat still.
"miss cerise? can we still watch the reset tonight?" bella asks, to which the bird sadly shook her head.
"not tonight, bell. it's a bit late now."
the little girl begrudgingly got up with the rest of the children, and went to bed.
who were they?
