CHAPTER TWO - MOMENT OF TRUTH

I WAS WEARING A GREEN flannel as I was walking with Preston and Calvin. "So looking forward to bowling tonight?" Preston asked with his arm around Calvin. "Yeah, if you don't use any of that sneaky magic." Calvin replied. "Wish I could go with you, guys." I stated. Preston wrapped his other arm around me. "It's fine, Trent. You're an engaged man. You and Levi need to focus on planning your wedding." He said. We met up with the others. "Hey, guys!" Brody greeted. I walked over to my fiancé and kissed him. "Ooh, whatcha got there, Hales?" Calvin asked. I could see that Hayley was holding a gift.

"Good one you ding-dong, it's your gift." Hayley replied. "My gift?" Calvin questioned. "Yeah." Hayley replied. "Oh, my gift gift." Calvin said. "I can't wait for our anniversary dinner tonight." Hayley said. "Yeah." Calvin agreed. "Can you believe it? We've been together for two whole years." Hayley said. Calvin opened the gift to show a license plate. "Ooh, "Nitro." This is great! Thank you!" Calvin said as he kissed and hugged her. "Dinner? What about..?" Preston started to say. Calvin stopped him from saying any more.

"And I, I got you a present too of course. I'm, I'm, uh, saving it for our dinner." Calvin stated. "Ooh." Hayley said. "Look out! Run!" A man shouted. "A monster!" Levi exclaimed. "You teenagers don't stand a chance against the mighty Deceptron!" Deceptron said. "We're not just teenagers... We're Power Rangers!" Calvin said. "It's Morphin' time! Power Stars!" Brody said. "Bolt Blast!" Deceptron said. "There's a bolt through my Ninja Star!" Hayley said as she tried to put it in her morpher. "It won't fit! I can't morph!" Hayley exclaimed.

"Hey! What did you do to her Power Star?" Sarah asked. "I'll stop you when my bolt blaster is re-charged." Deceptron said as he disappeared. "He's gone." Brody said. "Come on, hopefully Mick can remove this bolt!" Hayley said. We were all back at the base as Mick was trying to remove the bolt from Hayley's Power Star. He sighed. "That bolt just isn't budging. I'm sorry." Mick said. "If I can't morph, the Ranger team is weaker." Hayley said. "That's exactly what Odius wants." Levi stated.

"Don't worry. We'll find a way to fix your Power Star, Hayley." Redbot informed. "Of course we will. Plus, look on the bright side, you have an awesome anniversary gift from Calvin to look forward to!" Sarah added. Calvin laughs nervously. "Ahhhhh, yeah! You sure do!" Calvin agreed, wrapping his arm around Sarah. "Let's try... using some heat." Mick said. Preston looked at me. "Can we have a word, Cal?" Preston asked. I walked off with them. "You obviously didn't get her a present, did you?" Preston asked. "Shhh... No... I forgot." Calvin replied. "Okay, forgetting is bad, but lying about it is... worse!" Preston said.

"Just tell her the truth." Preston said through his teeth. "Preston is right, Cal." I agreed. "I can't. It's too late. Look I can just go out and get her a gift, while they're busy with the Power Star." Calvin said. "Okay, good luck." Preston told him. Preston was about to leave until Calvin held him back. "Wait, I don't know what to get her. Please help me?" Calvin asked. "Ok, ok. Fine... But only because I know how excited Hayley is." Preston agreed. "I'll help too. I need to get away from wedding planning anyway. It's stressing me out." I added. "Thanks, Pres, Trent." Calvin said.

We walked back to the group. "Hey guys, Preston, Trent and I are gonna dash out real quick to pick up Hayley's present." Calvin said. Brody wrapped an arm around Calvin. "Cool. Where are you going? I wanna see what you got." Brody whispered. "Yeah, I'll come too." Levi added. "Uh... guys it's not that big of a deal." Calvin said. "Check out this guy. So humble. You really landed a winner, Hayley." Levi said. Hayley chuckled in response. "Let's go!" Levi said. "Bye." Sarah said. We were all walking. "Sooo... what did you get Hayley?" Brody asked. "Oh um, it's a, uh... Preston, Trent, I told you..." Calvin said.

"Yeah, its... He got her a... Car. He got her a car." Preston finished. Calvin had a worried look on his face. "You bought her a car?" Levi questioned. "A car... a carpet." Calvin said. I just sighed at the two. "Oh, of course. Yes, a carpet. For... for her room." Preston said. "An anniversary rug?" Levi questioned. "Yep." Calvin replied. "Wow, that's so romantic." Brody said. "I really hate to be that guy. But someone has to tell Aiden and Brody the truth..." I thought. But before I could say anything, Deceptron showed up again.

"Rangers, you're about to lose your Power, just like your friend. And then stealing your Stars will be a snap!" Deception said. "The only thing you're taking — is a beating." Brody said. "Oh, big talker." Deception said. "Don't let him blast your Stars!" Brody told us. All of us then morphed. "I can take you five easy!" Deception claimed. "No way!" Calvin said. "Sarah. That monster's back! We could use a hand!" Brody said. We tried attacking him but nothing worked. "He's a real bruiser!" Levi exclaimed. "I'm just getting started!" Deceptron said as he attacked us.

"We can't seem to wear him down!" Preston said. "That's 'cause lies give my bolt blaster its energy! And lucky for me, Rangers love to lie! Bolt Blast!" Deceptron shouted. Preston and Levi got attacked as they demorphed. Both their Power Stars had bolts in them. Levi and Preston rushed towards their Power Stars. "Our Power Stars!" Levi exclaimed. "They're bolted, just like Hayley's!" Preston added. "Your Stars will be mine!" Deceptron said. "Oh darn it, I'm outta juice, but I'm more than strong enough to destroy you all!" Deceptron said. Brody and I got in front of Levi.

"Huh? What's that?" Deceptron questioned. "Surprise, bolt-brain! Plasma Blast!" Sarah shouted. She attacked Deception and got off her cycle. "Sorry I wasn't faster!" Sarah said. "You're just in time!" Calvin said. "He got you guys too?" Sarah asked Preston and Levi. "Guys, he teleported away!" Brody said. "That buys us some time!" Sarah said, looking at Preston's Power Star. "What now?" Levi asked. "Maybe Mick will help find a solution!" Sarah replied.

We were back at the base. "I can't fix these either, they're the exact same bolts! Well, this is quite a pickle." Mick said as he took out a pickle and began eating it. "And these Stars are in bad shape too!" Mick added as Preston laughed. "Come on, this is no time for jokes." Preston said. "Sorry." Mick said, throwing the pickle aside. "Ok, the Gold and the Blue Ninja Power Stars are trapped just like Hayley's. None of them will function until we remove these bolts." Mick explained. "When we were fighting Deceptron, he said that our lies were what gave him the energy to blast us." Levi explained. "Interesting. Because there is a lot of emotional energy used in lying." Mick said.

"Hmm. And he's using it to neutralize our Stars." Sarah added. "He must be trying to trick us, right? Because none of us have been lying... Right?" Hayley asked. Everyone agreed as Preston and I looked at Calvin. "Wrong." Calvin said. "Calvin? What do you mean?" Hayley asked. "I lied to you this morning." Calvin replied. "What?" Hayley questioned. Calvin pulled Hayley aside to talk to her. We saw Calvin kiss the top of Hayley's forehead. "Hey, look! The Power Stars!" Levi said. We all saw the bolts on the three Power Stars disappear. "Whoa, telling the truth fixed the Power Stars!" Preston said.

"I'm glad you came clean, Calvin. Honesty is always the best policy." Mick said. There was loud beeping. "The scanning system's found something!" Redbot said. "Uhhhh. We've got Buzz-cams in the city!" Mick informed. "Deceptron won't be far behind." Hayley said. "Now that we have our Power Stars back, we've got a fighting chance." Preston stated. "We need to move quick. In case he finds anyone else lying that could power him up." Brody said. We all left the base. We arrived at a park where civilians were running.

"There he is!" Hayley said. "Hello Rangers, looks like you found me first!" Deceptron said. "You've got a screw loose, buddy, and we're here to fix you for good! It's Morphin' time! Power Stars!" Brody shouted. "Lock in! Ready! Ninja Spin!" We all shouted as we morphed. "Ninja Rangers fear no danger!" We shouted. "You can all morph? But three of your Power Stars were bolted!" Deceptron said. "Then I guess you didn't count on the truth being stronger than lies!" Calvin said. "Then I'll destroy you the old-fashioned way!" Deceptron said as Basherbots appeared.

We began fighting the Basherbots. Brody, Calvin, and Sarah were busy fighting Deceptron. Brody, Calvin, and Sarah finally destroyed Deceptron. Preston, Levi, Hayley, and I ended up joining them. That's when Deceptron grew big. We all caught our Zord Stars. We all made our Megazords. "Hey, we don't have our Master Mode Stars!" Sarah said. "No Ninja Master Mode... how are we gonna control the Megazords?" Hayley asked. "Check it out. A new Star! I think we have a new mode, guys!" Sarah said. "The Ninja Super Steel must have it's own Star to control the Megazords." Calvin said.

"Super Ninja Steel Mode Star!" Calvin shouted. "Lock in! Ninja Spin!" We all shouted. We got into Ninja Super Steel Mode. "Three on one. Sounds fun!" Deceptron said. We all began fighting him. We changed into the Ninja Ultrazord. "Ninja Ultra Strike!" Preston shouted as we attacked Deceptron. "To tell the truth, that was a strong attack, but not strong enough!" Deceptron said. "I can't believe he survived!" Calvin said. "Calvin, we have to unleash all our power!" Brody said. "Ninja Ultrazord Blast, Final Attack!" We all shouted. We finally ended up destroying Deceptron.

We were all back at school. "That's your fancy anniversary meal? Pizza from the Snack Stop?" Brody asked. "Yup, same as last year. It's our favorite." Hayley replied. "It's a tradition now." Calvin added as they both walked away. Calvin threw his stuff towards Levi as he collected the pizza. But it ended up on Victor. "You've ruined my shirt!" Victor said. "What? You walked into me! You can't see a thing in those glasses!" Calvin said. "Of course I can, Brody!" Victor replied. "I'm not Brody, I'm Calvin!" Calvin informed. "Oh. Sorry. My sunglasses are a little bit dark... But aren't they the coolest?" Victor asked. "Well..." Calvin started to say.

"Remember... honesty." Hayley said. "Right. I'm sorry Victor, but your glasses are not super cool... they're super ridiculous." Calvin admitted. "Again, I'm sorry." Calvin added. "Monty, you told me they were cooler than a penguin's pajamas!" Victor said. Monty started stammering. "I've been out in the hot sun all day flaunting these, and I have nothing to show for it!" Victor said as he took off his glasses, showing his super bad tan line that was just where his glasses were. We all gasped.

"Oh, wow, you have something to show for it, all right." Sarah said.

"Really? What? What is it?" Victor asked.
