CHAPTER FOUR - MAKING WAVES

WE WERE ALL AT THE beach as I was wearing a green tank top with black shorts. "Welcome to the Summer Cove "Big Catch" Competition. Out in them there waters, lives the biggest fish that ye ever did see. His name's Bruiser, and he's a crafty one. Use whatever clever lures or secret tricks you want... and if any of you mateys catches him... You'll win this trophy!" Captain Shaw said. "Off ye go, buccaneers! Get fishin'! Best of luck to yah!" Captain Shaw exclaimed. "Thanks for letting us help you in the fishing competition. Dad. Sounds like it's gonna be a blast." Hayley said.

"No problem, honey. Wait 'til you see what I've got to help us." Aaron, Hayley's dad, told her. "Oh cool... But what is it?" Preston asked. "This is my Diver-Drone! Programmed to find anything unusual. Like a huge fish." Aaron replied. "Whoa... What's that?" Brody asked. "It's my custom "net cannon", so I can catch fish without hurting 'em. This competition is the perfect time to test it. Hey, you guys want to put it in the water?" Aaron asked.

"Okay." Preston replied. Calvin and Preston grabbed the drone as they placed it in the water. "Whoa." Levi commented. "These dots on the radar are small ones. We just got to wait for some big ones and then catch it." Aaron stated. "Ooh, I think we got something! It's gotta be Bruiser. Time to deploy the net cannon!" Aaron exclaimed. That's when it went out. "Oh! What happened?" Aaron questioned. The drone came up again. Calvin and Preston went towards it and took it out of the water.

"I'm sorry dad, that doesn't look good." Hayley said. Calvin and Preston set it down on the sand. "Oh no... my Diver-Drone." Aaron said. "Hi, Sarah!" Jackie said. "Oh hi, Mom! What are you doing here?" Sarah said. "I thought maybe I'd try to catch Bruiser too... what's going on?" Jackie asked. "The net is ruined... and these circuits are fried. It looks like it found something made of... metal?" Aaron questioned.

"Aww, Dad. I'm sorry." Hayley said. "Looks like we'll have to wait for next year to go after Bruiser." Aaron said. "Nonsense! I can help you fix that thing in no time. It'll be fun. I'm Sarah's Mom, Jackie. You must be the handsome owner of this handsome drone?" Jackie asked. "A-hem, Mom!" Sarah said. "Indeed I am. I heard you're quite the inventor. Which means, you're not only pretty, you're pretty smart." Aaron said. "Okay. Dad!" Hayley said.

"Aaron Foster, Hayley's Dad." Aaron introduced himself, holding out his hand. Jackie shook his hand. "Let's get this drone working again, so you can win this contest." Jackie said. "Great idea... And then, maybe we can grab a bite to eat? You know, just to say thank you." Aaron suggested. I was next to Levi and Calvin. Levi looked at me as I was trying not to laugh. "I would love that." Jackie replied. Brody and Preston were trying not to laugh as well.

We were all back at school. "I'm downloading the data to see what's broken. It might take a while." Jackie stated. "Then maybe it's a good time to go for a picnic." Aaron suggested. "Absolutely." Jackie agreed. Levi, Calvin, Brody, Preston, and I were working on the net. "This metal that got stuck in the net cannon sure is weird..." Brody said. "Seems like they fit..." Calvin added. "Well, let's see if we can piece it together." Preston suggested. "They go together! There, and there!" Mick said.

"Perfect." Levi said. We all fit them together to reveal the Galaxy Warriors logo. "No way! That's the Galaxy Warriors logo!" Levi exclaimed. "Odius must have some sort of machine planted under the water." Calvin said. "We've got to get back to the beach and figure out what's going on. Come on! There's no time to waste!" Brody said. We were all at the beach as Sarah and Hayley joined us. "Hey guys look, they're fixing that machine." Brody said. "What does it do?" Sarah asked. "Come on, let's finish this!" Doomwave ordered.

Badonna then appeared. "Doomwave! When's your Tsunami Machine going to be fixed?" She asked. "Don't worry, I'll have all of Summer Cove washed away by dinnertime." Doomwave replied. "Hurry it up. Odius does not like waiting." Badonna said. "Of course." Doomwave replied as Badonna disappeared. "They're going to create a tidal wave?" Brody questioned. "Your dad's drone must have damaged that machine." Calvin said. "Well then let's finish the job." Preston said. We all nodded in reply.

"My plan was foolproof. How much bad luck can a monster have in one day?" Doomwave asked. "You'd be surprised!" Hayley replied. "Huh? Rangers! I've got just the thing for you... A paddlin'!" Doomwave said. "It's Morphin' Time! Power Stars!" Brody shouted. "Lock in! Ninja Spin!" We all shouted as we morphed. "Ninja Rangers fear no danger." We shouted. "Alright suckers! Time to feel the might of my tentacles!" Doomwave said. "Bring it octo-freak!" Brody said as we began fighting. I was fighting two of the Basherbots as I did a backflip and slashed both of them. We all regroup.

"Time to wave goodbye!" Brody said. "Ninja Blast!" We shouted. "Rockstorm Blast!" Levi shouted. We fired at the Basherbots. Doomwavev disappeared into the ocean with his machine. "We've got to find that machine and destroy it before he can finish fixing it." Calvin informed. "What we need is something that can go underwater." Preston said. "Your dad's Diver-Drone!" Levi said. "But it isn't finished." Hayley informed. "No problem... we'll help your parents finish fixing it." Brody said.

We all ran off. We arrived back to see Aaron's Diver-Drone in the trash. "Wait! You're throwing my dad's drone into the trash?" Hayley asked. "Ah, well, yeah. He called and said that he can't fix it alone. And I don't know anything about programming... That was your mom's expertise. He also mentioned that their picnic was, well... a catastrophe." Mick said. "No way, they were working so well together this morning." Brody said. "Brody's right. They were hitting it off pretty well." I added. Both Hayley and Sarah were silent.

"Well we kinda, sorta sabotaged their date." Sarah said. "You what?" Calvin asked. "Why?" Levi asked. "We didn't want our parents going out together. It's just, weird." Hayley replied. "Yeah and we didn't know we'd need them to fix the drone." Sarah added. "I've got an idea. Let's all split up and see if maybe one of us can solve the problem alone." Mick said. "What? Mick, that's a terrible idea." Calvin said. "Sure is. We need to work together to fix this." Sarah said. "Yeah, we're a team. That's what makes us strong." Hayley added.

"Interesting. Uh, didn't your parents make a great team too?" Mick asked. "Yeah. They did work really well together." Hayley replied. "And they were actually having fun." Sarah added. "How would you feel if someone broke up your team?" Mick asked. "I think we made a big mistake." Hayley said. "Yeah, we've got to get them back together again." Sarah agreed. "They'll never do it." Hayley argued. "They will... if the right people ask them." Preston said. "People like I don't know... The Power Rangers?" I added.

Aaron walked in and then Jackie. "What are you doing here?" Aaron asked. "I was asked to come. What about you?" Jackie asked. All of us appeared from our hiding spots morphed. "We called both of you here." Hayley started off. "We need you to work as a team... And fix this drone." Sarah finished. "Us? Work as a team?" Aaron questioned. "I'm afraid that's not such a good idea." Jackie added.

"Please Mo—I mean, Mrs. Thompson. The whole city is counting on you. Both of you." Sarah said. "Well, if it's that important..." Aaron started to say. "...then we'll work together." Jackie finished. "Good, 'cause I heard you're quite a team." Hayley said. "Well I've got all the data." Jackie said. "Well if you can run the diagnostics, I can repair the net cannon." Aaron said. "I can do that." Jackie told him. A few moments later, it started to work again. "It's working! Rangers, it's working." Aaron told us.

"Thank you for your help." Sarah said. "Whatever the problem is, I hope my drone..." Aaron stopped and looked at Jackie. "I mean our drone... helps." Aaron corrected. "Yeah. It sure will. Let's get it to the beach." Brody said. "Good luck, Rangers!" Jackie said. We arrived at the beach. "Okay guys, this is the spot. Now let's put it in the water and we can start the scan!" Sarah said. "I really hope this works!" Brody said. That's when Doomwave appeared. "Not so fast! I finally fixed my Tsunami Machine, and I won't let you interfere while it's charging!" Doomwave claimed.

"We got this!" Preston shouted. "You won't stop my Tsunami Machine!" Doomwave exclaimed. He attacked Calvin and Preston. "Now to destroy you and your drone!" Doomwave said. But before he could attack them again, Brody, Levi, and I started attacking him. "Get the drone into the water!" Brody said. "You got it!" Preston replied. "Alright, I'm switching it on!" Hayley said. The drone went into the water but Doomwave knocked the remote out of Hayley's hands, stopping her from controlling it.

"You're too late, Rangers! My machine is almost fully charged. Soon it will wash away the city! Basherbots!" Doomwave said. We all started fighting the Basherbots. I slashed some of the Basherbots while Sarah and Hayley worked on destroying the machine. "Ninja Strike!" Brody and I shouted. "Tornado Slashes!" Levi shouted as well. Brody and I attacked Doomwave and then Levi attacked him. "Final Attack!" Brody shouted as Brody, Levi, and I finally destroyed Doomwave. Sarah and Hayley then destroyed the Tsunami Machine. Then, Doomwave grew big.

"Mick, are you there? We need a hand." Brody said. "I've just made a new Star to help you out... The Sub Surfer Zord Star is coming your way!" Mick replied. Brody tried to catch it but it attached to the drone instead. "Dad's drone turned into a Zord?" Hayley questioned. Brody caught the Star. The Zord then turned into a Surfer Zord. "It's Ninja Zord form is a surfer!" Brody exclaimed. "I wanna see how this Zord rides!" Levi commented. Levi hopped onto the Zord. We all watched Levi attack Doomwave. "Let's help finish this creep!" Brody said.

We made our Megazord and then got into Ninja Super Steel Mode. We then changed into the Sub Surfer Ninja Megazord. "This new Megazord is amazing!" Preston said. "I'll sink you!" Doomwave exclaimed. "Begin Final Attack! Ninja Spin!" Brody shouted.  "Sub Surfer Ninja Megazord Riptide Slash! Final Attack!" Brody shouted as we finally destroyed Doomwave. We were all back at the beach as Aaron was telling us about how he and Jackie fixed the drone. "And once we fixed the drone, the Rangers took it and..." Aaron was saying.

"We're not really sure what they did, but I sure hope it helped." Jackie interrupted him. "Hey, you may have saved the whole city?" Calvin suggested. "That's pretty cool." Levi added. "Mom." Sarah said. "Dad." Hayley said as well. The rest of us let Aaron and Jackie go to Sarah and Hayley. "Guys, someone caught Bruiser!" Calvin said. Everyone rushed over. "That fish isn't real!" Captain Shaw said. "Of course it is!" Victor said. "But I can see the seams! Something fishy about this here fish!" Captain Shaw argued. Monty then appeared. We all laughed.

"You won't believe what happened! This big fish ate me!" Monty said. "Whoa!" Victor exclaimed. "You're right! I don't believe it! You'll both walk the plank!" Captain Shaw said, taking the trophy from Victor. Both Victor and Monty started running as we all laughed once more.
