CHAPTER FIFTEEN - TECH SUPPORT

𝓣𝚁𝙴𝙽𝚃

I WAS WEARING A GREEN hoodie as I followed Brody to our student, Emma. Who was currently helping Principal Hastings and the receptionist. "Hey Emma,  ready for your karate lesson?" Brody asked.

"Almost..." Emma replied. "And... There. All done!"

"Let me get this straight... everything that's in these... is now in there?" The receptionist asked.

"Yep. I built a program that consolidates the school's database. Just type in what you're looking for... no more searching through giant folders." Emma responded.

I whistled lowly, impressed. "And I'm lucky enough if I can do my math homework correctly. I absolutely hate math..." I thought.

"Woohoo!" The receptionist cheered, high fiving Emma.

"Well Emma I will remember this when I'm deciding the winner of the school's technology trophy." Principal Hastings informed, throwing the folders in the bin.

"Great. Thanks!" Emma said.

"Wow! You're quite the whiz kid, Emma." Brody commented as I followed the two.

Brody, Emma, and I were at the docks as we were practicing sword fighting.

"Ok, raise that sword up a little bit." Brody said, fixing her stance. "Yeah, strong stance. Now raise the sword above your head and swing with power!"

Emma did just that, letting out a grunt as she did so. "Ha ha! Yes, I did it! I'm getting really good at this!" She cheered.

"Uhhhh... maybe we'll practice that move a little more next time. We better finish up." Brody stated.

"Thanks so much, Brody. You as well, Trent. You two are doing me a big favor." Emma told us. "One day, I'll be fighting as good at fighting as the Power Rangers."

"Oh, really? Well, that's a great goal." Brody said, giving me the look. I just chuckled at her statement as Brody drank his water.

"I wonder what her reaction would be if she knew she was being trained by two Power Rangers." I think to myself.

"Anything I can do for you, Brody? What about you, Trent?" Emma questioned.

"Nothing I can think of, but I'll let you know." I replied, grabbing my things.

"Actually, my phone's been kinda glitchy lately. If you have time, do you think you could take a look?" Brody asked.

"Yeah. No problem." Emma answered, following Brody and I as we left.

"So, every time I open up this app, the whole thing freezes up—" Brody was explaining to her. He was interrupted by a monster coming in front of us.

"Surprise!" Typeface shouted.

Brody had fallen back while I got into a fighting stance.

"Prepare to be deleted!" Typeface exclaimed as he laughed.

"Quick! Get to safety, Trent and I will be right behind you!" Brody said.

I had to hold back a snort. We needed Emma to get to safety so Brody and I could morph. Emma just nodded as she ran off.

"You puny humans are all afraid of me, the mighty Typeface!" Typeface claimed.

"Not me!" Brody stated.

"You just messed with the wrong people, pal." I added.

Brody and I both got out our morphers and Ninja Power Stars.

"Ninja Spin!" Brody and I shouted, morphing into our Ranger form as we began fighting Typeface.

"I came after two Rangers, but now I got seven!" Typeface exclaimed.

"Brody!" Preston shouted as the others joined us.

"Trent!" Levi also shouted.

Typeface shoved both Brody and I aside as we fell to the ground.

"Basherbots, bash them all!" Typeface yelled as Basherbots appeared.

The others started going for the Basherbots. "I'm coming, bro, Trent!" Levi announced.

"Thanks!" Brody said.

"All good!" Levi answered.

The three of us began attacking the Basherbots that were near us.

"Easy as that!" Brody commented.

All of us were fighting the Basherbots while Levi was dealing with Typeface.

Typeface ended up retreating and we continued fighting off the Basherbots, unaware that a nearby civilian was recording our fight.

I kicked a Basherbot aside, looking around. "I got a strange feeling that someone is watching us. Might be my imagination though." I thought, continuing to fighting the Basherbots that were coming at me.

"That's Emma." Brody suddenly said as I saw Emma looking at us.

"Hey you, get to safety!" Brody told her. Emma ignored him and rushed into the fight.

"I can help you guys!" Emma claimed.

"No. Stop!" Sarah warned.

"What's she doing? She's gonna get hurt. We can't afford any civilian casualties. Especially since my feeling of someone watching us is still with me." I think to myself.

"I know you want to help, but leave this to us!" I exclaimed, slashing a Basherbot.

"Ninja Blast!" Preston and Sarah shouted, blasting at a Basherbot that Brody was dealing with before Emma got to it.

"Wow, I did that? I destroyed one!" Emma cheered.

"Ah?" Brody questioned.

"Who else wants some?" Emma asked. She looked over at Calvin who was facing off against some Basherbots.

"No, wait!" Brody warned.

"Stop! It's dangerous!" Hayley shouted.

"Huh?" Calvin said in confusion as the Basherbot disappeared.

"You're safe now, Yellow Ranger!" Emma told Calvin.

"What, what's going on?" Calvin asked in confusion.

I continued fighting the Basherbots that coming to me. The Basherbot Sarah was fighting for electrocuted like the others as barrels fell on top of him.

"Yeah! I got him!" Emma said. We all headed towards her.

"Excuse me. What are you doing here?" Levi questioned.

I put a hand on his shoulder, silently telling him to take it easy on her. I still remembered her claim she made to Brody and I.

She wanted to fight just like us — the Power Rangers — but if that meant putting herself in danger, I wouldn't want that.

"Well, helping you, obviously." Emma answered. "And you're all welcome."

"Thanks, I guess." Preston said. "But next time—"

"Next time? Yeah, I'll be seeing you guys again." Emma interrupted as her cell phone rang.

"Oh shoot, I'm late. Bye!" Emma said as she ran off.

"You're going?" Sarah questioned.

"Wait a sec." Brody called out.

"Sorry guys, Emma told Trent and I she wanted to fight like a Ranger, but I had no idea she'd go this far." Brody said.

"Look, Brody, you and Trent need to find a way to tell her what she's doing is dangerous!" Levi told him.

"Aiden's right. We need to make her understand that she can't put her life on the line like that. All of us have been been trained in fighting monsters, she's not." I added.

"Yeah okay!" Brody responded.

We were back at school as I was wearing my usual green hoodie. We were walking past Emma who was surrounded by students who wanted her autograph.

"She's famous for fighting monsters?" Levi questioned. "This is only going to encourage her."

"Don't worry. It's harmless." Brody reassured him. "She'll have a few minutes of fame, no harm done."

I sat down on Levi's lap. "Let's hope you're right." Hayley said.

"Famous last words, Brody. Famous last words." I commented, sipping on my raspberry tea.

"Hey Brody! I have something for you..." Emma said, handing him his phone.

"Oh wow. It's all fixed?" Brody asked as she nodded. "Thanks Emma."

"You're welcome." Emma replied. "Hey, I wanted to thank you and Trent too, for all your help teaching me to fight. I didn't realize how good I've gotten."

"Oh, really?" Brody asked.

"Yeah. I'm sure you've heard that I totally fought with the Power Rangers!" Emma exclaimed.

"Emma, look, that sounds kinda dangerous. Maybe you should—" Brody started to say.

"Oh it's fine. Someone video'd the fight. Everyone's loving it!" Emma cut him off. "Anyway, I was thinking... since I've gotten so good, I don't really need any more ninja lessons."

"Wait... what?" Brody questioned.

I rubbed the bridge of my nose. "This is what Aiden warned you about, Brody." I thought.

"Yeah, I'm all done. Maybe one day, I could give you and Trent some pointers." Emma said as she laughed. "See ya round!"

"Yeah." Brody said as Emma left.

I got off Levi's lap as all of us stood up. "Well, now do you think it's harmless?" Preston asked.

Before Brody could reply, our Ninja comms beeped. "Rangers, there's Buzz-Cam activity downtown." Mick said over Brody's Ninja comm.

"We're on it. Let's go." Brody told us as we all followed him.

We arrived downtown to come face to face with Typeface again. "Welcome, Rangers. It's time to face your deletion." Typeface stated.

"With double the monsters!" Badonna added, joining Typeface. "Make sure you infect their weapons this time." She added in a hushed whisper.

"There may be double the monsters, but there's still zero brains!" Brody said. "It's Morphin' time!"

We all got out our morphers. "Power Stars!" Brody shouted.

"Lock in! Ready!" We all yelled. "Ninja Spin!"

"Ninja Rangers fear no danger!"

"Basherbots! You know what to do!" Badonna exclaimed as Basherbots appeared.

"Get them!" Levi said as we all began fighting. Preston and Levi were dealing with Typeface.

"I'm a fan-tastic fighter!" Badonna said.

Brody, Calvin, Preston, Sarah, Hayley, and I all got shoved to the ground.

"Dart Blast!" Badonna shouted as all of us tried dodging the darts that were coming at us until they exploded and we were thrown to the ground.

"You are truly pathetic Rangers!" Badonna commented. "Forget Typeface, I will destroy you myself!"

Suddenly, Emma showed up with her wooden sword.  "It's not over yet! If you wanna destroy the Rangers you'll have to go through me!" Emma claimed.

"No! Get out of here!" Brody told her.

"Basherbots are one thing, Badonna's on a whole different level from them!" I added.

"Like a hot knife through butter." Badonna said as she sent an attack to Emma, which ended up flying past her. It ended up ruining the wooden sword.

"Ha! Lucky break. You won't be so lucky this time." Badonna informed.

Brody and I seemed to have the same idea as both of us got up.

"No!" Brody exclaimed.

The attacks headed for Emma as Brody, Sarah, and I made sure they didn't hit her.

"Curses!" Badonna said.

"That was close!" Hayley commented.

"Are you okay?" Calvin asked.

"I don't know what happened. I thought I could fight them." Emma replied.

"I'm sorry, but you need to leave this to us. Please, it's not safe for you. Come on." Hayley said as she guided Emma to safety.

"Basherbots!" Badonna shouted as Basherbots appeared.

"You'll pay for that, Badonna." Brody informed.

"Arrow Blast!"

We all fired at Badonna and the Basherbots, causing an explosion and Badonna fell to the ground.

"Looks like the tables have turned." Sarah stated.

"Then I'm not staying for dessert!" Badonna said as she retreated.

"Good riddance." Brody said. "Let help the others."

We ended up joining with Levi and Preston who were busy with Typeface. Though, Preston's weapon had some sort of purple glow.

"Oh no, what happened to my blade?" Preston questioned, picking it up.

"You'll find out... but for now, I'm hitting my escape key!" Typeface replied as he retreated.

"Guys, he did something to my blade!" Preston exclaimed.

"Mick, what's going on?" Brody asked.

"You need to get back to the base now." Mick answered.

"Whoa, sounds urgent. Let's go." Brody said.

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

We had all arrived back at the base. "Warning. Virus infection alert... Warning." The computer announced.

"Our computer systems are under attack. Some kind of virus has infected our network!" Mick explained.

"That's what Typeface did. He infected our technology with a virus!" Preston stated.

"If we don't get rid of it, all of our weapons will stop working." Mick informed.

"What? Without our weapons, we'll be toast." Calvin commented.

"I wish I was more of a programmer... I don't know squat about computer viruses!" Sarah added.

"Emma... she is a computer genius." I think to myself.

Brody seemed to have the same idea. "I know who is an ace with computer problems... and she's determined to help us." Brody said.

"I was thinking the same thing. She can't help us when it comes to fighting, but she can help us with this." I added. Brody nodded in agreement.

"I think I know just who you two mean." Hayley said.

"We better morph." Sarah said.

"Yeah." Preston agreed.

"Don't worry Mick, we'll be back!" Levi reassured him.

All of us appeared in front of Emma, morphed. "Whoa— the Power Rangers!" She exclaimed.

"Aww man... I'm so sorry. I wanted to be a Ninja, just like you... but it seems like I only got in the way." Emma said.

"Fighting is dangerous, but we're here because there's another way you can help us." Brody told her.

"Really?" Emma asked, unsure.

"Yep, really." Levi responded. "There's a virus in our Ranger technology... and we need to get rid of it... fast!"

"And we've heard you're an expert." Hayley added.

"I am... and I'd love to help you!" Emma said.

"Fantastic! But... we'll need to blindfold you to take you to our secret base." Sarah informed.

"I get to go to your base? That's awesome!" Emma said as she took off her glasses. "Of course, of course you can blindfold me!"

"Mega Morph Cycle Star, rev up!" Calvin said as he called his motorcycle.

"Alright, hop on back with me." Calvin informed as he got on his motorcycle. Sarah guided Emma to the cycle as she grabbed hold of Calvin.

"Okay, see you guys at the base." Calvin told us. "It's a long way from here, hold on."

"Okay." Emma said.

Calvin started the cycle as he started going in circles around us.

"You think she's buying it?" Brody asked.

"Well, if he drives her around long enough, she will." Levi replied.

"I definitely wouldn't buy it." I commented.

We arrived back in the base, making sure to guide Emma in.

"Don't worry, guys. We brought help." Brody informed Mick and Redbot.

"Wait, Mick. Don't you teach her?" Redbot asked. "You can't let her see you here!"

"Ooh ah, good point!" Mick replied as he looked around for something to disguise himself with. He changed himself into a hammer.

Calvin finally took off Emma's blindfold. "Wow... this place is so cool." She said. "You must be Redbot! I read your book. It was great." She added, noticing him. "I've never seen a hammer like that?"

"And you never will again." Redbot commented.

Preston cleared his throat. "Ahem... Emma, the computers are over here. Please, hurry." He said as we all surrounded her.

"I'm on it." Emma said as she plugged a hard drive in and some data appeared.

"Oh boy, that's a nasty one... this antivirus program isn't going to work." Emma stated.

"You mean, you can't help us?" Redbot asked.

"I didn't say that..." Emma replied, grabbing her backpack. "Just like a ninja has a lot of moves, I have a lot of tools. I'll find something."

She rolled out a carrier, carrying multi-colored hard drives.

"You're like a... computer ninja!" Brody commented.

"Hmm, let's try this one." Emma said, switching the hard drives.

"This program needs time. While we're waiting, I'll see if I can get any of your systems running again." Emma stated.

"Thanks!" Levi told her.

"Oh! Good news! The Buzz-Cam detector is back online..." Redbot said. "Uh oh, bad news... it's showing activity in the industrial quarter."

"Oh no!" Sarah said.

"We've gotta go. Can you to handle this?" Brody asked.

"I won't give up... like a ninja." Emma replied.

"Great!" Brody said.

"Be careful, until the virus is gone, your weapons will likely malfunction." Redbot warned.

"Then we'll just use our fists." Brody said.

"I hate how you said that so casually, my dear friend." I told him, careful not to use his name in front of Emma.

"The Buzz-Cams are right up here!" Brody said as we were met with Typeface.

"Ah, good. Come and get me, you rainbow roaches!" Typeface challenged.

"Let's give him a fiery attack using these!" Brody said as we got out our Element Power Star.

"Element Star, lock in! Ninja Fire Attack!"

We tried to attack him but it didn't work. "Oh no! Redbot was right. The virus is making our weapons fail!" Brody exclaimed.

Typeface laughed. "Without your weapons, I can delete you permanently." He said. "Take this!"

Typeface attacked us as we all fell to the ground. He then laughed.

"Cal, let's give our blasters a try!" Sarah suggested.

"Good idea, let's do it!" Calvin agreed.

"Ninja Blaster. Power up!" Sarah and Calvin shouted. "Whip Lash!"

But not even their Ninja Blasters worked. "Not even close!" Typeface said.

"This isn't good!" Sarah said.

"Another weapon down... just in time for me to do this!" Typeface said, attacking us once more.

"Rangers, this is computer ninja Emma. All your weapons are back online!" Emma informed.

"Thanks Emma, great timing!" Brody said. "The weapons are good to go!"

"Let's try our Blasters again!" Calvin suggested.

"Ninja Blaster. Whip Lash!" Sarah and Calvin shouted once more. This time, it actually attacked Typeface as he fell to the ground.

"Noooo! My virus is offline!" Typeface said. "You've destroyed it! Now, I'll destroy you!"

"This is our chance! Let's wipe out this hard drive!" Brody stated.

All of us headed for Typeface as we began fighting him. "Take this!" Typeface said as he attacked us once more.

"Let's finish him!" Calvin said.

"Together! Ninja Blast!"

"I'm corrupting!" Typeface exclaimed as he exploded. We all cheered.

That was when Typeface grew big. "Ninja Blade Zord Star, Lock in! Combine! Ninja spin!" Brody said as we got into the Ninja Blaze Megazord as well as Super Steel Mode.

"Watch this! My "Space" key moves me in space!" Typeface stated as he moved around, kicking us back as he laughed.

We tried attacking him but he kept disappearing and reappearing again.

"We need to hold this guy still!" Hayley said.

"I know just the way! Astro Zord Star, activate! Ninja Spin!" Brody said as the Astro Zord appeared.

The Astro Zord picked Typeface up. "Begin Final Attack!" Brody shouted.

"Ninja Blaze Megazord, Ranger Blast!"

All of us came out of the blaster one by one. "Final Attack!" We all shouted, striking Typeface one by one.

"I should've backed myself up!" Typeface exclaimed. All of us landed on the ground as Typeface was destroyed. We all cheered in victory.

"Thanks, Astro Ninja Zord!" Hayley said.

"Show's over, ninjas win!" Brody added.

"Emma... we couldn't have done it without you!" Calvin said.

"He's right... you are hereby an official... computer ninja!" Brody added.

"Thanks, Rangers! Happy to help!" Emma told us.

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

I was back at the docks with Brody. "Hey, Brody, Trent. Do you two have a sec?" Emma questioned.

"Sure." Brody replied, grabbing his backpack.

"Listen... I just wanted to say... I realize now that I was too dangerous for me to try to fight alongside the Power Rangers. Besides, I have other skills, like computers... which definitely aren't as dangerous. Still, I was wondering... will you and Trent give me ninja lessons again?" Emma asked. "I just love learning martial arts."

"Sure. I owe you for fixing my phone." Brody responded.

"I'm not sure I'll be much help, but I'll help you as much as I can." I added.

"Oh! Thanks, Brody, Trent!" Emma exclaimed, hugging us both.

"Come on, let's get to class." Brody said.

"Okay." Emma agreed.

We were all back at school, surrounding Principal Hastings.

"It's time to award this year's Technology Trophy! Now there were lots of strong contenders, but this—" Principal Hastings started to say.

"Wait, wait, wait! Before you finish, there's something you're gonna want to see." Victor interrupted.

"Please?" Monty begged.

"Fine, get on with it." Principal Hastings agreed.

We all followed Victor and Monty. "Presenting, the one, the only..." Monty began, lifting up the cover.

"Victor-matic Auto-Snack-it!" Victor finished.

Everyone clapped. "All you have to do is find the food items you want... and then press the button." Victor said.

"For instance... Nachos. Spaghetti. Pizza. Ice cream." Victor continued, pressing buttons.

"Slow down, Victor, I haven't ironed out all the kinks yet." Monty warned.

"It'll be fine!" Victor reassured him as a plate of nachos appeared. "See! It works perfect."

Victor ate the nachos and we clapped. That's when the other foods started appearing and the machine started malfunctioning. The cream pie fell onto Levi's head.

The machine continued throwing food out onto students. I tried to dodge so I wouldn't get hit but was unsuccessful as I got hit by a creme pie.

"Turn it off!" Calvin said.

By the time it stopped, every student was covered in food.

"Soooooo..." Victor said. "Do I get my fiftieth trophy?"

"The winner of the Technology Trophy is... Emma Harris!" Principal Hastings announced, giving the trophy to Emma as we all clapped for her.

"What?! Oh, come on!" Victor and Monty said. They ended up getting hit with pie as we all laughed.
