yippee! I told y'all that drama was coming >:)
"Y/n! It's good to see you again," Mitsuki greeted you. With a warm embrace, you're welcome into the house.
"Hi! Thank you for inviting me to dinner, Mr and Mrs Bakugou" You thanked them both and bowed before slipping off your shoes.
"My pleasure sweetheart, me and Masaru would not stop pestering Katsuki about you ever since we first met," Mitsuki exclaimed, smiling. "And enough with the honorifics, Mitsuki and Masaru are fine,"
"Right! Sorry," you apologised, looking over at Bakugou, who gritted his teeth. Stepping into the living room, you approached his father. You leaned forward for a quick hug, "It's nice to see you again,"
"Same here," Masaru retorts, happily before he glances towards his son. "And to you too, Katsuki,"
Leading you inside by your hand is Mitsuki. Despite their disappointment with your baby's absence, they accepted you and Kazuko into the family. You expressed sadness, saying how much you missed him, knowing that you would see him in a couple of hours. Mitsuki was in awe, remembering the feeling as she pinched Bakugou's cheek, retelling you the gruesome story of your boyfriend's birth.
Bakugou glares at his mother right as a hand quickly swats the back of his head, forcing him to look away.
"Oh! Dinner is not done yet so feel free to kick back and rest your feet." Mitsuki explains, rubbing her hands together as she retreats into the kitchen and tightens her apron. She stops just to ask for a favour. "Can you help me for a second Katsuki?"
Bakugou didn't waste a second, gesturing to the empty space on the couch to you before he left. "Whatever,"
"Masaru don't forget the box," Mitsuki added, disappearing behind a wall alongside Bakugou.
"Right!"
Sitting down on the couch, you relaxed into the cushions and let out a long sigh. You were exhausted at this point, yawning behind your hand discreetly then stretching an arm over your head.
"I hope my baby is okay," you said to yourself, reaching inside your pockets for your phone. "I should probably check up on the babysitter,"
Y/n:
Hey! Just checking in
Is Kazuko okay?
Babysitter:
He's doing great!
We just came back from the park!
A picture is sent through and filling a majority of your screen is Kazuko swinging on a baby swing. The babysitter made sure to capture his smile. You smile as more photos and a video appear after the first image. You saved every single one on your phone.
Y/n:
Thank you for the pictures!
I'm glad he's having fun
"Speaking of the baby, we have some gifts for you," pipes in Masaru, carrying a small storage box. "Consider these hand-me-downs,"
"Oh, that's not necessary! Kazuko has a lot of stuff already," you chuckled nervously, tucking your phone away and reaching for the box after Masaru had set it down on the coffee table.
"No please, we insist. They're some of Katsuki's things from when he was a toddler and thought it could be of use for your son later in life," Masaru explained, pulling out some of the things from inside the box including old clothes fit for a preschooler, baby equipment, and toys.
One of the baby equipment caught your eye. It was a small device sitting in a small blue box. You read the font on the top. "Monitor bracelets...contains four bracelets,"
Masaru listens as you finish reading when he speaks. "Mitsuki bought those after Katsuki ran off with Izuku when they were little. Those two were inseparable, I'm surprised those two are friends again,"
"I love their relationship. From the stories I've heard from Dad, they've grown a lot." You tell him. "...Anyways, what do these bracelets do?"
"They're distressed bracelets with tracking devices built into them. How they work is that two people who wear the bracelets are connected via link and the bracelets have a little charms that act as a trigger. You press on a bracelet charm which makes a linked bracelet vibrate in an instant. The other person who is receiving these vibrations can connect the signal to their phone GPS and track them down,"
You raised your brows, eager to try out the bracelets after dinner. From Masaru's explanation, he pointed to the name of the device on the box so you could pair it with your phone.
"Thank you for the gifts! I'll make sure to put them to use," You bowed, putting the box back with the other things.
"Oh no problem," Masaru smiled. "Me and Mitsuki will have this delivered to UA. Saves you and Katsuki carrying them back to the dorms after dinner,"
"Thanks,"
Even though you wanted to help cook dinner, you helped Masaru prep the table, laying out bowls, chopsticks, and napkins. Mitsuki and Bakugou carry the food on trays, placing them in the middle of the table. Steam fills the air with a delectable aroma so delicious your mouth waters. You quickly sit down, clap your hands together, thanking your hosts for the food and quickly reach for your chopsticks.
As if the heavens had opened their arms to you, an explosion of flavours danced in your mouth, causing you to squeal in your seat. With each and every dish, whispers of divine craftsmanship between mother and son, a culinary gift bestowed upon them. You almost fell on your knees and kissed the floor they walked on.
"Yummy," you exclaimed, chopsticks in your mouth as you chewed. Devouring your dinner, the four of you talked about today. You and Bakugou each took a turn explaining while throwing a couple of jabs at each other when it came to the arcade games. Then you carried jabbing your boyfriend even further when you showed off the plushie you begged for which earned you a crooked look in Bakugou's eye. Atlas, he couldn't stay angry at you any longer, you were having fun that's all that mattered.
However, hours would go by and the last you checked your phone, the hub had been cleared of your old messages, but the new messages would go unnoticed. Mitsuki hugged you tight, your bodies swaying side to side.
"It was good to see you dear," she spoke nuzzled against your face. "Come visit us again when you get the chance,"
"I will, I promise," you replied, returning the hug. You also shared a hug with Masaru, thanking him for the hand-me-downs once more.
"You better take care of yourself as well Katsuki. I would hate to receive a phone call from your teacher about y/n," Mitsuki warned the boy.
"You won't, hag," Bakugou promised, tugging you by your hand and out the front gate. You and Bakugou caught the last train heading towards the babysitter's province, seeing as it was getting late. You kept your phone off as you leaned against Bakugou's shoulder, yawning behind your hand every few minutes.
To keep you occupied, you muttered to yourself. I miss my baby. Is he okay? What did he eat today? Did he have a good nap? Did he have fun at the park?
You couldn't wait for the babysitter to tell you everything that came with the pictures. Surely, today would stay in your memories forever...right?
Walking along the street, fingers intertwined, the two of you follow the sidewalk. The sky graced with stars and residential buildings provided light alongside the street light posts towering above you. Silence surrounded you as you both got closer to the babysitter's street, yet you suddenly felt something churning in your stomach. A feeling gripping your insides. It was not fear; it was something else, something deeper. It struck you with urgency, warning you of a potential danger.
"Katsuki-" You blurted out, tugging on the boy's sleeve when your feet stopped midstep. Bakugou followed your gaze.
There you see it. A thick column of black smoke lazily curled into the night sky, its tendrils reaching towards the stars. A feeling of recognition washed over you as you noticed the direction from which the smoke was billowing. It was near the sitter's house. In an instant, your heart jolted within your chest, and a frigid sense of dread settled deep in the pit of your stomach.
Your footsteps echoed loudly as you and Bakugou hurried along, the urgency in your movements giving away the calm facade you tried to uphold. With each step, the pungent smell of smouldering wood intensified, filling the air.
As you close in on the source, your eyes widen at the sight. Tears welled up in the eyes of the bystanders as they watched the flames consume the babysitter's house, the smoke blending with their sorrow and creating a heavy, stifling atmosphere. The air crackled with the intense heat of the inferno, creating a hazy, shimmering effect that distorted the surroundings.
The pounding of your heart echoed in your ears as you took in the scene before you. With hoses and axes in hand, firefighters valiantly fought against the inferno, their shouts drowned out by the deafening roar of the flames. Heroes out on patrol kept the civilians away, urging them to stay away. From every crevice, smoke poured out, forming a thick haze that made it difficult to see and irritated your eyes with its pungent sting.
But amidst the chaos and destruction, your thoughts were only of your son. Amidst the confusion, your eyes locked onto a small figure, huddled on the ground, while flashing lights and frantic activity surrounded them.
But it wasn't your son. It was the babysitter, her body motionless and unconscious, being gently lifted onto a stretcher by a team of paramedics. Suffering from burns along her arms and legs, you noticed something was missing. Panic surged through your veins as you realised the gravity of the situation.
"Where is my son?"
sorry it's taking me so long to update this story. To be honest, I'm getting lazy :(
