arlet walks away from matt and towards her fourth period. arlet absolutely hates fourth period because it's her civics class, none of her friends are in there with her, some weird ass kid who literally smells like shit sits next to her, and her teacher just yaps the whole hour. not to mention, bianca sinclair and her best friend are also in that class. arlet just has the best luck ever!

if she wanted to, she really could just skip fourth period, but as much as she hates that class, she'd never skip it because she hates missing a lesson.

she immediately scoffs to herself as she walks into the classroom and hears bianca's obnoxious laugh already. the class just barely started!

arlet makes her way to the back of the classroom, taking her assigned seat by the window. before she can even get situated in her seat, she looks to her left, noticing the kid that sits next to her, is staring at her.

now, arlet is not a rude person, but she's just sick of him always staring at her. she almost tells him to look the other way, but instead, she just blinks at the boy a few times before turning back to face the board. she side eyes him, trying to see if he's still looking at her. fortunately, he's also looking at the board.

once the bell finally rings, mrs. benson, arlet's teacher begins explaining the lesson. understanding that they're just completing the assignment from yesterday, she decides she'll just do it at home.

she picks up her backpack from the floor and places it on her lap, taking out her airpods and placing one of them in her ear. setting her bag down, she pulls her phone out of her back pocket, immediately opening spotify and clicking shuffle on her playlist. sink or swim by chase shakur being the first song to play.

looking out of the window for what it seems like forever, arlet realizes what happened in the hallway a few minutes ago. she pulls her phone out, opening the groupchat between her, vera, nick, and theo.
