"SIR, WE GOT TO GET ready to greet the 104th Training Corps."
"Eh? That's today?" A twenty-six year old Julian questioned as he grabbed his Survey Corps jacket from his chair and put it on.
"Yo. Does anyone want to come with Lyon and I?"Julian shouted down the hall.
"Where, sir?" A red haired girl with green eyes asked.
"Training Corps, there are new cadets." Julian replied.
"Eh, I would, but I don't want to socialize."
"I expect nothing less from you, Mel." Julian told his squad member. "How about you Zach? Or even Will and Ida?"
The three of them shook their heads. "Leโ" Julian started to say.
"No."
"Fine then. Let's go, Ly." Julian said as his second in command nodded at him.
"Have fun!" Zach shouted.
"Don't scare the new cadets!"
"I won't!"
"Come to think of it. Section Commander, isn't your younger brother apart of the new cadet class?" Lyon asked as they walked down the hallway.
"Jean? Yeah, he is." Julian replied.
"Is he planning on joining the Scouts?"
"Last time I talked with him, he was planning on joining the Military Police." Julian responded. "I told him I'll support him no matter what branch he ends up joining. If you ask me, it's better for him to join the Military Police then the Survey Corps. I don't have to worry about him being eaten. Besides, I have an old friend who's apart of them. We may not be talking anymore, but he'll look after my brother."
"And what if some miracle happens and he joins the Scouts?" Lyon questioned.
"Then he'll be in someone else's squad. He's not joining mine. I can't do my job and look out for him at the same time." Julian answered.
Julian entered the Training Corps where he was greeted by some working cadets. "Section Commander Julian, good to see you again." The man said.
"Same to you, where are the new trainees?"
"They are practicing hand-to-hand combat right now, over in the yard." He pointed to them. Julian thanked the man as he and Lyon walked over.
Julian felt noglastic. He remembered his time as a cadet. "Does this bring back memories?" Lyon asked.
"It does, Ly." Julian responded. He had spared with both Marcus and Maya in this very clearing.
"Marcus, May. I wonder how they're doing in their Regiments." Julian thought, thinking back to his best friends. "I haven't talked to them since I told them I was joining the Scouts."
Julian did a scan of the new cadets. He saw that all of them were working hard. Well, except for two of them.
Make that only one.
Julian sighed as he saw his younger brother along with a male that looked a whole lot like Marcus who looked worried, as if he was telling him to go back and train. Julian guessed that he was Marcus's younger brother.
"Why am I not surprised he's ditching?" Julian muttered to himself, cracking his knuckles and taking off his jacket. "Hold this." He said, shoving his jacket into Lyon's chest.
"S-Section Commander, what are youโ"
"Hey!" Julian shouted, looking at a bald headed male who stared at him. "Can I borrow your jacket?"
"Why?"
"I seem to have misplaced mine." Julian lied, kicking Lyon's shin so that he could hide his jacket.
"Um... Sure?"
The bald headed cadet took off his jacket and handed it to him. Julian placed it on him and walked over to his younger brother.
"Hey, you. Aren't you supposed to be doing combat?" Julian asked, looking at him.
"I don't need it. I'm going to the Military Police." Jean replied.
"You know, the Military Police are strict on who they accept." Julian informed.
"All I need to do is be in the Top 10."
"And it takes a lot of work to get there." Julian fought back. "You won't be in the Top 10 if you don't train."
"What do you know about it? I bet you'll easily get knocked down with one punch."
Lyon started sweating. "N-Not again..." He thought. "I'm aware this is Julian's younger brother. But Julian was trained by Corporal Levi during his cadet days."
"J-Jean!" The other boy stuttered.
"Alright then, Jean." Julian clicked his tongue. "If you're so good at combat like you claim to be, then lets fight. If you win, I'll leave you alone."
"That's definitely going to happen." Jean said.
"If I win, you have to help a friend of mine with cleaning duty." Julian informed, snickering to himself as he thought about Levi.
"You're on." Jean stated, still somewhat confused on why his brother pretended they didn't know each other. Julian got into a fighting position as Jean scoffed at him.
"Talk about weak." Jean taunted. "I'm gonna beโ"
Julian didn't let him finish his sentence as he jabbed his knee into Jean's stomach, which made him stumble backwards. Jean tried to throw a punch but Julian dodged and used his foot to kick him to the ground.
Silence.
The people around the two siblings stared in absolute shock. The boy who was with Jean stiffened.
"I win, Jeanie." Julian mocked.
"I'm not done yet!" Jean got up and lunged at Julian. The older Kirstein grabbed his wrist. He took one hand and placed it onto Jean's mouth before flipping him over and sending him to the ground. Julian watched as Jean groaned in pain. It wasn't long before a crowd of people showed up and cheered for Julian.
"Kick his ass!" A blonde haired male shouted.
"That's enough!" Shadis came to stop the fight until he spotted Julian as he laughed.
"Should've known it was you." Shadis stated, shaking his head.
"Not even a thank you, Shadis? I taught someone a lesson who thought it was a good idea to ditch training." Julian sighed as he took off the jacket. He walked over to the bald headed male who was next to Lyon.
"Thank you for letting me borrow thisโ" Julian paused, realizing he didn't know the cadet's name.
"C-Connie. Connie Springer." The bald headed male said.
"Right. Well, thank you, Connie." Julian said.
"G-Glad I could help."
"You really don't show any mercy, do you?" Lyon handed Julian his jacket as his leader chuckled. Julian put it on, showing the Wings of Freedom insignia as his jacket russled. He watched as most of the trainees faces went pale.
"H-He's apart of..." A cadet shrieked in excitement. Jean, however, just rolled his eyes.
"Everyone, say hello to one of the Section Commanders in the Survey Corps, Julian." Shadis introduced him as the shocked trainees did a salute to him.
"Now about the cleaning duty." Julian said as he turned to Lyon with a smirk.
"Tell Levi to come over here." Julian told him as Lyon went pale as well as the trainees.
"L-Levi? As in Captain Levi?" A boy spoke up. Julian turned his head to see a brunette with emerald green eyes who looked oddly familiar. "Humanity's Strongest Soldier!"
"What?!" Jean squeaked with fear.
"Section Commander, are you sure?" Lyon asked. "You know how stubborn Levi isโ"
"Tell him what happened minus the cleaning part." Julian replied. "He'll come."
"If anything happens to you. It's not my fault." Lyon said.ย
"Nothing will happen. Levi has a soft spot for me." Julian said as Lyon sighed and walked off.
"You can talk to Section Commander Julian after you finish your combat skills. Get your asses back to training!" Shadis ordered as everyone obeyed.

The moment training finished, most of the trainees came to talk to Julian, asking him multiple questions.
"How did you manage to get so high up?"
"How can I improve my skills?"
"Is the outside wonderful?"
Julian chuckled nervously. He wasn't really used to this much attention.ย He tried to answer all of the questions but everyone was talking over one another.
"Hold on, everyone. Slow down, okay? I can't answer everything if you're talking over one another." Julian said.
"I-I want to be in the Survey Corps!" A boy came up excitedly. Julian blinked and stared at the brunette with emerald eyes. He looked at Julian with so much respect. He finally realized why this boy looked so familiar.
It was the same boy who he saved from getting harassed by some Garrison soldiers.
"You're Eren, right?" Julian questioned. The young boy's smile grew and everyone around them stared at Eren.
"Eren? You know him?" A tall short blonde haired male questioned.
"Kinda. A few years ago, he saved my ass from these Garrison cadets." Eren explained.
"Ha, talk about a damsel in distress." The tall short blonde said.
Julian examined the blonde male. He had hazel eyes, and a defined facial structure. His large height, broad shoulders, and serious expression gave him an intimidating presence.
"Something's off about him... Like he's hiding something." Julian thought.
"Mikasa, remember him?" Eren looked at the girl who was standing beside him. Julian recognized him along with the short, bowl-cut blonde haired male.
"Huh... So they did end up coming around." Julian thinks to himself.
"The Survey Corps is just a place where you want to make a suicide wish." Jean came in with a smirk. "That's why you go to the Military Police."
"You want to be apart of a branch that's corrupted who treats the poor like shit because they don't meet your standards?" Julian questioned as Jean blinked, not expecting that from him.
"At least the Military Police are safe within the wallsโ"
"Yeah and you experience people who treat you like shit, who can easily ruin your life with just a snap of their finger, and more?" Julian interrupted him with the same smile. Eren started to laugh at Jean, along with a couple of others.
"At least we won't die like you guโ"
"We go outside for the idea of fighting for freedom for the people within the walls. Because the people within the walls are absolute dickheads who only care about themselves." Julian cut him off. "They only join for the money and safety for their own benefit. They don't give a damn about you."
"Holy shit." The tall short blonde haired male laughed at Jean.
"And what would you knowโ"
"I know because an old friend of mine is in the Military Police. Marcus Bolt." Julian interrupted.
"My brother?" Marco questioned.
"Let me tell you something, my dear little brother." Julian continued, shocking everyone by what he addressed Jean. "Back in my cadet days, I was undecided of where I wanted to go. After training with Levi, I decided to join the Scouts. And you know what? I was the only one."
"Y-You're kidding..." Connie muttered.
"The only one out of your entire class?" Eren questioned.
"That's correct." Julian responded. "All my classmates either went to join the Military Police or the Garrison. I was the only one who joined the Survey Corps. I refuse to let the same thing happen with your class."
"U-Uh..."
"But allow me to tell you this; Jean, despite being a cocky little shit, I don't see you in the Military Police." Julian informed.
"And where do you see me at? In the Survey Corps with you?" Jean questioned as he scoffed. "I thought you told me you would support me no matter what military branch I'm in, Nii-san."
"And that still is the case. Frankly, I would rather have you be somewhere safe then having to worry about you dying." Julian replied. "The Military Police changed Marcus, I don't want the same thing happening to you."
"S-Section Commander." Lyon peeked in.
"What is it, Ly?"
"You wouldn't believe this..." He said with wide eyes.
"What's up?"
"Levi and Petra are here."
Silence.
Julian looked at Jean with a huge grin as he turned pale. "Bring them in." Julian said.
"O-Oh my god. I am going to meet Captain Levi." Eren started to panic. "Armin! Do I look good?"
"You look fine..." Armin muttered.
"N-Now hold on, Nii-san. I thought you were joking when you saidโ" Jean came forward, a little terrified.
"You were the one who agreed to it." Julian crossed his arms as Petra was looking around, probably remembering her days as a cadet. Levi entered and leaned against the door.
"Hey, come on. You need to get back." Levi called out.
"Wait, I have something for you that you might enjoy." Julian looked at him.
"What?"
"There is someone here who's willing to clean every room that's filthy." Julian smirked at Jean.
Petra's laugh broke the silence. Levi raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?" He questioned, looking at Jean who gave him the salute.
"C-Captain Levi, sir! I canโ"
"Section Commander Julian made a deal with his brother." Lyon explained. "Like I told you, however, he said if he won, he has to be on cleaning duty."
Levi glared at Julian. "We're leaving. Get over here, there's no rooms that need to be cleaned." He said as Jean sighed in relief. Julian frowned and looked at the trainees.
"Speaking of which, you guys should consider joining the Survey Corps. Like I said before, I don't want a repeat of what happened to me." He recommended and walked to the door but paused.
"Before I forget... Eren." Julian looked at the excited boy.
"Y-Yes?" Eren squeaked out.
"Keep up with your determination. We could use someone like you in the Survey Corps." Julian smiled at him as he walked out with Levi, Petra, and Lyon.
ยปยปโโโโ-ใโ ใโโโโ-ยซยซ
Petra and Lyon were talking amongst themselves as Levi looked at Julian. "You beat up your brother?" He questioned.
"In my defense, the cocky little shit asked for it." Julian shrugged.
"Cocky little shit?" Levi scoffed. "So like how you were as a trainee?"
"T-That's not the point, Levi!" Julian stuttered. "He was talking shit about the Survey Corps. When he knows damn well that his older brother is apart of them, and a Section Commander at that."
"It's common to get negative comments from people, Jude. It's normal for us."
"Not the way he put it." Julian rolled his eyes and looked at him. "How would you react if you heard the Survey Corps was a suicide camp and the Military Police was better?"
"By the way, what's up with that boy? What's his name?" Levi asked.
"Eren?" Julian questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, him. What's up with that?" Levi asked.
"Well... He wants to join the Survey Corps... might as well give him more determination."
"But you did teach them a lesson, right? The trainees."
"Yeah. In a way."
"In a way?" Levi questioned.
"I said the truth in my own perspective. It's up to them what to do with it." Julian sighed as Levi patted his shoulder.
"Although I feel pity for the trainees that it was you, you did good at some extent." Levi stated.
"Some extent?"
"Just don't kick their ass next time."
Julian stayed quiet, his mind going off elsewhere. Lyon stopped his conversation with Petra and looked at his leader with a concerned look.
"Something wrong, Lyon?" Petra asked.
"It's nothing, Petra. It's justโ" Lyon trailed off as he sighed. "Something's bothering Julian, and I know this because he doesn't have that focused look that he usually has."
"Oh, you're right." Petra agreed.
Julian leaned on the wall in Levi's office with his right foot leaning on the wall and his arms crossed. "Hey, Levi. Did I ever tell you why I don't want Jean in the Survery Corps?" He asked.
"I don't think so."
"If I do end up dying, I don't want him to witness it. It's terrible seeing your friends and comrades die, it's worse seeing your family die in front of you." Julian stated. "I would rather have you or Erwin give him the news that his brother is dead than have him see it."
"You're not gonna die." Levi told him.
"Death is unavoidable, Levi. Especially if you're apart of the Survey Corps." Julian informed.
Julian left Levi's office, closing the door behind him. Levi just sighed as he watched him leave.
Levi remembered Julian's time as a trainee, smiling to himself.
"Jude really mellowed out for the past few years. He's also the closest thing I have to as a friend. That idiot better not die on me."
