EPILOGUE III - BACK TO BRIARWOOD

A year after the events of History...

๐“ฃ๐™ฐ๐™ฝ๐™ฝ๐™ด๐š

THIS WAS IT.

I was finally going home.

Hayley was getting everything ready so that a portal could take me back to Briarwood.

"This is it." I said. I turned around to face the team that I was with for a year. Conner and Kira were holding hands and Trent and Ethan were standing next to each other. I was going to miss them. I turned to Dr. Oliver. "Dr. O., are you sure I can't stay? I mean, you never knowโ€”" I started off. "Tanner, your time is long overdue to going home. I shouldn't have kept you here as long as I did. But we needed the help." Dr. Oliver explained.

"And we thank you for that." Conner added. "I have a feeling we'll meet again in the future, Tanner." Kira said. "The portal is ready." Hayley informed as a portal showed up. I began saying my goodbyes. I started with Conner. "Conner, it was nice knowing you. I'm finally happy that you decided to ask Kira out since the senior prom." I said, smiling at Kira as she smiled back.

"Treat her well, all right?" I told him. "I'll treat her like a princess." Conner promised. I chuckled and moved to Kira next. "Kira, thanks for being a good friend. You remind me so much of Madison. She was always there for me. I hope you get to be a famous popstar that you always dreamed of." I said.

"And I hope you get to be a famous motocrosser one day, Tanner." Kira said. "Well, now that my Ranger days are over, I might just be that." I informed. I looked over at Conner. "Give Conner a chance, okay? I know he's a womanizer, but he's a great person." I told her. She just nodded in response. I moved over to Ethan. "Ethan, I know we weren't really as close as friends and I wish I got to know you better. But I wish you the best. And try to go on a date with a few girls." I informed. "Whatever you say, Tanner." Ethan replied.

Finally, I moved over to Trent. "Trent, at first I really hated you. I always thought of you as getting the way of Conner asking Kira out." I admitted as everyone laughed. "But once you told me you were bisexual, I started to take a liking to you. I mean, I even asked you to the senior prom." I continued as I smiled. "Guess we can't work out this long distance relationship that we have?" Trent asked. I shook my head.

"I'll be at least a year into the future. I don't think we can do long distance." I informed as I kissed his cheek. I walked over to Dr. Oliver. I took off my dino bracelet that still had my purple dino gem. "I assume you want this back." I said as I handed it to him. Dr. Oliver shook his head. "Keep it. That way you'll always remember us." Dr. Oliver told me. I put my dino bracelet back on my right wrist. "Thanks for everything, Dr. O." I said.

"I forgot to tell you, Tanner. When you go back home, things won't be the same. Time may have gone smoothly while you were here, but a year has passed in your time. Things changed." Dr. Oliver informed me. I nodded my thanks. I picked up my bag as I got ready to enter the portal. "Goodbye, everyone." I said for the last time. They all waved at me.

I smiled as I jumped in the portal and within minutes I was back in a familiar place. I turned back around as I saw the portal has already disappeared. I saw the Rock Porium across the street. "Briarwood... I'm home. I'm finally home." I think to myself. I hurried across the street and entered the Rock Porium. The bell rang as the door closed. I saw Nick, Chip, Madison, Vida, Leelee, and most importantly Xander. Everyone turned to see who came in. "I don't believe it..." Nick started off.

"Tanner!" Everyone shouted as they rushed to hug me. "I missed you guys so much!" I exclaimed. "Same here, mate. Where were you?" Xander asked. I smiled. "You guys wouldn't believe me if I told you." I replied. Everyone went back to work except Xander. I hugged him once more. "I missed my best friend the most while I was gone." I told him.

"I missed you too." Xander said. "So, how's everything? Please tell me you finally found a girlfriend." I said. I tried not to sound too broken when I said that. Xander looked nervous. "Um... about that. Can we talk privately?" Xander asked as I nodded. We headed out of the Rock Porium and began walking. "What did you want to talk to me about?" I asked. "Uh... about a month after you left, I was told some information. And I had time to find out about myself." He began.

"Uh, huh.." I muttered. "It's hard to explain. So let me just show you." Xander said. That's when Xander kissed me. Yes, my best friend kissed me. "Xanderโ€”" I started off. "Listen to me, while you were away, Madison told me about you having a crush on me. And I was so stupid to not have noticed it. All those dates I went on with girls didn't feel right. It took me a while, but I finally realized that I don't like girls. I like guys." He explained. I just nodded in response.

"So, Tanner. I wanted to ask you, would you be my boyfriend?" Xander asked. I thought back to Trent. He would want me to be happy, right? "I would love too." I answered. We walked back to the Rock Porium hand in hand. "You guys are back." Nick said. "Everyone, we have something to tell you. Tanner and I are dating." Xander said.

Everyone stayed silent for a moment. Then, they cheered as they rushed over to hug us. "I'm so happy for you guys!" Vida exclaimed. "Thank you." Xander said. "Oh, Tanner. I was meaning to give this to you. Someone delivered this to us while you were away. It's some kind of envelope." Nick said as he handed it to me. I opened it and read the letter.

"It's from a manager that mange motocross races. He wants to sign a contract with me and wants me to go on tour!" I exclaimed. "That's great, Tanner!" Madison said. "Looks like you'll finally be what you wanted to be." Chip said. I smiled. "Well, now that my Ranger days are over, I guess living the normal life will be good for me." I said. Everyone smiled and went back to work. I looked over at Xander. "I know we just got togetherโ€”" I started off. "Don't you dare finish what you were saying. This is a big opportunity for you. I want you to take it." Xander informed.

I smiled. "Do you want to go on tour with me?" I asked. "As much as I would love too, there's a lot here that needs to be done at the Rock Porium. But I'll see you in a few months, yeah?" Xander said. I nodded. I kissed him and walked out of the Rock Porium to start packing. Before I headed to my house, I looked back at the Rock Porium.

"It's good to be home..." I think to myself.

I then looked at my dino bracelet with my purple dino gem in it on my right wrist.

"I miss you guys, but I have a feeling we'll be meeting in the future..."

Time skip, Four months later...

I parked my motorcycle near my trailer outside of the dirty and muddy racing track. I took off my helmet and placed it on my motorcyle. It's been four months since I've been on tour and surprisingly, Xander and I are handling this long distance relationship pretty well. We've talked on the phone and video chatted since I've been away. I shoved my purple and white duffel bag in my trailer and sighed, looking around the lot and the track seeing the place where my last stop was before I head back to Briarwood.

Ocean Bluff...
