A/N: Like I said in the last chapter, I'm skipping episode 7 because I don't see a point in writing that chapter since there is no actual fights. So enjoy this chapter.

CHAPTER SEVEN - GOLDEN BOY

𝓣𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙴𝚁

AFTER DEFEATING ANOTHER MONSTER, we headed back to Hayley's Cyberspace. I walked in and found Conner, Kira, and Dr. Oliver were. I couldn't wait to tell them the great news. "Guys guess what? I'm gonna finally be in a motorcyle race. I found a manager who managed to get me in one today." I informed.

I remember telling them that I was a famous motorcrosser when I was back home. "That's great, Tanner." Kira said. That's when Trent's dad walked in. "Dad, what are you doing here?" Trent asked. "I thought I'd give you a ride home. You ready?" Anton replied. "I don't think I can leave right now. I'm in the middle of work." Trent explained.

"Look, son, I don't mean this to sound, um, elitist, but don't you think a managerial position would suit you better?" Anton asked. Trent was shaking his head. "I mean, come on, all this running around slinging milkshakes, it doesn't really scream 'Mercer'." He continued.

"Dad, I like working here, and besides, I'm in high school. This is what kids do." Trent said. "Right. Well, It's not what I did. Anyway, let me think about it. Maybe we can, uh... come up with a compromise we can both live with." Anton informed. "Dad, I'm fine." Trent promised. "I'll see you at home." Anton said. "Okay. See ya." Trent responded.

Conner, Ethan, Kira, and I ended up coming to Dr. Oliver and Trent's aid. Apparently, they were attacked by this golden dude. Conner fired his lasers and we showed up. We got off our Raptor Cycles. "Are you okay?" Conner asked Dr. Oliver. "Yeah." He replied. I found Trent behind the Jeep groaning in pain.

"Trent? Are you alright?" I asked. "Yeah, wha— Hey, how do you know my name?" Trent replied. "Uh..." I said, realizing my mistake. Conner, Ethan, and Kira were fighting the golden dude when Zeltrax showed up. "I was wondering when you would show up." Conner said. "Huh. You — Return with me at once." Zeltrax ordered the golden dude.

"But, Father, my mission is not complete." Golden boy said. "Now. Do as you're told." Zeltrax informed. "Yes, Father." Golden boy replied as they both disappeared. "Father?" Ethan said. "Did he just call him Father?" Conner questioned. "I think so." Ethan guessed.

Hayley placed a paper down as she sighed. "I don't believe it." She exclaimed. "Junk mail?" Dr. Oliver asked. "I wish. Check this out." Hayley replied. "What's it say?" I asked. "A letter from the city. It seems as of tomorrow, I have a new landlord." Hayley explained. "Not just any landlord. Anton Mercer." Dr. Oliver said. "He's gonna rebuild the whole cafe, and he's gonna replace me." Hayley said.

"With who?" I asked. Hayley looked at Trent as Dr. Oliver and I turned around. "So you've heard." Trent said. "So what's the deal, man? One rough day at the office, so your rich daddy buys it for you?" I stated rather harshly. Man, Xander and Nick would definitely hate this guy.

I never liked Trent. Since I'm trying to get Conner and Kira together and Trent being buddies with Kira wasn't really helping. "It's not like that. I had nothing to do with this." Trent informed. "Look, I got a friend at city hall. I mean, maybe we can check out the deal and see if Mercer missed something." Dr. Oliver suggested. Trent shook his head.

"Look, You've known my dad long enough to know he doesn't make mistakes." Trent informed. "No, I've known your dad long enough to know he does." Dr. Oliver argued. "Come on, Tanner." He said to me. "Well, wait. I'm going with you. This is because of me. I'll do whatever it takes to fix this." Trent stated with Hayley nodding.

"City hall, here we come." I said getting up. Dr. Oliver, Trent, and I finally arrived at city hall.  "Man, I hope there's something we can do." Trent said. "Me too." Dr. Oliver agreed. A councilwoman walked up to us. "Dr. Oliver, my office said that you were coming down." She said as she shook his hand.

"Councilwoman Sanchez, thanks for taking the time to talk to us." Dr. Oliver said. That's when Zeltrax and Golden boy showed up. Golden boy then landed an attack. "Trent, take Councilwoman Sanchez where it's safe!" Dr. Oliver ordered. "You got it." Trent replied as they ran. I knew why Dr. Oliver sent Trent away. We couldn't morph in front of them, so he had Trent leave so we could.

We started fighting Golden boy. He kept blocking our attacks however. "Your son got a lot stronger." Dr. Oliver said. "They grow up so fast, don't they?" Zeltrax commented. Conner, Kira, and Ethan then showed up. "We heard you guys were here to fight city hall." Conner informed. "They must've meant fight in front of it?" Kira guessed.

"You guys ready?" Dr. Oliver asked. All of us raised our left wrists as our morphers appeared. "Ready." We replied. "Dino Thunder, Power up! HA!" We shouted. We morphed and got into a fighting stance. "Tyrannodrones, attack! Destroy them." Zeltrax ordered.

Conner was fighting Golden boy, Kira, Ethan, and I were fighting the Tyrannodrones, and Dr. Oliver was fighting Zeltrax. "Carno Sword! Come on!" I shouted. We continued fighting until Zeltrax ordered his son to attack the city so Dr. Oliver called the Zords. "Thundersaurus Megazord!" Conner, Ethan, and Kira shouted. "Carnozord Megazord!" I yelled. Golden boy started attacking us first. "Say goodbye, Rangers!" Golden boy exclaimed.

We both fell to the ground. With the help of Dr. Oliver, We managed to defeat Golden boy. After my race, I headed back to Hayley's Cyberspace when Anton Mercer walked in. "Okay, let's get these walls torn out. We can save the computers." Anton said. "Hang on. You don't own it yet." Hayley informed.

"Hayley. You know, as much as I hate to say this, you really can't fight city hall." Anton stated. "I wouldn't be so sure of that, Dr. Mercer. My name is Eleanor Sanchez, councilwoman for the 33rd district. It is with great pleasure I inform you that the city council have voted to put your purchase of this land on hold." She informed.

"You're apart of this?" Anton asked. Dr. Oliver nodded. "Actually, we have your son to thank." The councilwoman informed. That's when everyone in the cafe walked to stand beside Hayley and the others.

"He made me realize that a place like this, a safe haven for learning and interaction for the youth of our community is something that shouldn't be disturbed or changed in any way." The councilwoman explained. "I was only trying to do what was best for my son." Anton explained. "Well... I'll just be going then." He added.

Once he left, everyone cheered.

A/N: I'm trying to finish this book as quickly as I can so I can focus on the first book more and then publish the third book. Which I am not gonna tell you what it's about.
