They got pregnant with their first child at 18, and got married a month after finding out about the baby. Alina got cancer 6 years ago, and had been fighting it since. She beat it 5 years ago, and then it came back 3 years ago, and it was too late for her at this point. 2 years ago, she passed away and his father passed away 6 months ago, which is when he took over the family business.
