𝐀 child born out of wedlock was seen as a disgrace to society, an embarrassment to a man or ladies name, and arya was no exception. Born from a one night stand between a young Uhtred Ragnarsson and a Danish maiden they called Lagertha, arya grew up with the term "bastard" hanging over her head. From her birth till she turned ten and two Arya was raised by her mother as she grew up in a small village just outside of East Anglia. That was until a force of Saxon men stormed down the village slaughtering every men, woman and child they could find. This included Aryas mother's family.

Scared and alone Arya fled west. After months of surviving alone, stealing what little food and clothing she could she suddenly stumbled upon a man who when he asked her name and she told him, he knew exactly who this was. Uhtred Ragnarsson knew instantly the little girl was his. He had been told by his former lover that she was with child, his child. He didn't know much other than the few letters Lagertha had sent him within the early days of Aryas life during his time serving King Alfred in the battle of Edington. When he'd left he went searching for the woman and his child but when returned he found nothing but ruins. Assuming them dead he dropped the matter, but not without a shattered heart.

Without a second thought Uhtred had taken the three and ten girl in and brought her back to his newly given home in Coccham, by King Alfred. Three years pass of the girl being raised and cared for by her father and his wife, Gisela, and in the time she would welcome two half siblings, Uhtred and Stiorra, who she treasured dearly. But the harmony in her life faded once new threats in the east arrived and a strange yet sweet monk appeared claiming to be the Nephew of a man who Uhtred once served alongside. It would appear this certain boy would be what Arya would call the best yet worst fate the Gods would bestow upon her.
