Why'd you leave the party?
The aroma of a metallic scent swirled through waves around the enclosed room, dark red stains sinking into the creases of the tiles as the brunette's foggy blue eyes trailed over the text message. None, absolutely no room, was left for guilt in his heart. There was something deeper there. Something that wanted to tear out, and he didn't know how much time he had left before it did.
Down at the party? Yeah, Colby was going to lose his shit if he didn't get out of there. The person he loved most, the one who rarely hurt him, started to trigger his anger as well as everyone else. Brennen, a friend for years, was someone he couldn't seem to stand anymore--or else he knew the consequence of having just a five-minute conversation would end up in a brawl of bloody fists.
It was entirely his fault, too. Colby's emotions were his fault. At least that's what he believed. During anything, the sinking feeling of his days turned into bursts of fury at the people who just wanted to help him. His mind, the one that taunts him, continues. Maybe they never cared for you after all. He doesn't know what's real and what's fake anymore.
Everything was just so hard for him to understand.
Right now was even more difficult to comprehend.
Blood leaked from his wrists, dripping warm liquid onto the tiles as tears full of built-up emotion crawled from his eyes, begging to escape. Even though the tears escape, the emotions still seem to lurk. They travel through his body with every breath he takes, and there's no time to try to stop it.
He doesn't even remember how he got into this situation in the first place. One moment he was laughing with his friends, then the next moment he was rushing to the bathroom. Of course, it was his fault. His emotions got the best of him.
Why was he so fucking distant?
Out of all people, why did he have to be the horrible person?
He wasn't trying to be. He was just trying to keep everyone okay, keep everyone in line, make them happy.
But for some reason, he could never do that.
All because of his emotions.
All because of his distance.
