STACY SMILED TO HERSELF AS SHE AND THE TRIPLETS FLIPPED THROUGH OLD YEARBOOKS AND SCHOOL PROJECTS. The girl gasped as she came across her freshman year French speech. The speech that got her an A+ and the grade that got her a school-funded trip to France.

"No way," Matt giggled, leaning over her shoulder and looking at the pink piece of paper she held in her hands.

"Isn't that the speech you cried over for days?" Chris laughed, leaning in to see what she and Matt were giggling over.

Anastasia nodded her head with a grin, remembering how anxious she was whenever she practised it and oh my, the day it was to be presented was a shitshow for Stacy and the triplets.

Nick reached his arm out for the piece of paper so he could show the vlog camera (the boys were out of video ideas and Stacy had suggested this one).

"Christopher Sturniolo: 'playing the percussion was one of the highlights of my year'?" Matt read out from a yearbook, turning to his triplet brother with an amused face.

"They forced me to say that!" Chris defended himself.

Anastasia laughed loudly at his poor excuse and took the speech paper out of Nick's hands. She scanned the paper, translating everything in her head.

"Holy shit, this was about our trip to Vegas for J's poker thing," she laughed, looking at the triplets who shared the same amused expression.

"Read it!" Nick exclaimed, leaning in with the camera with genuine interest.

Stacy rolled her eyes with a smile, clearing her throat and jogging her memory. It had only been a year but it felt like longer since she had spoken a full sentence in French.

"Le mois dernier, mes amis et moi sommes partis en vacances à Las Vegas," she began, then translated it to English due to the confused faces of her best friends. "Last month, my friends and I went on holiday to Las Vegas."

The triplets nodded in confirmation, waiting for her to continue. When they were younger, Stacy was the only one who took up a language in school so the triplets were her practice projects.

"Le vol a duré six heures. Nick et moi avons regardé Grease et Pitch Perfect! Nous avons pris l'avion avec leur mère et leur frère Justin, c'était très amusant."

Nick gasped at the mention of his name, asking Stacy multiple times to translate. Anastasia giggled but began to translate.

"'The flight was six hours. Nick and I watched Grease and Pitch Perfect!' Wow, our movie taste has not changed," she commented with a chuckle. "'We flew with their mom and brother Justin, it was very fun."

"Factual," Nick nodded, grabbing a pair of pink sunglasses from Stacy's desk and placing them over his eyes.

"Okay, I am not reading any more of that. It's too much for my brain to comprehend at ten in the morning," Stacy swatted her hands in front of her face.

Nicolas nodded in agreement, not really bothered to continue listening to a beautiful language that he couldn't even understand.

"I have to go anyway," Matt awkwardly announced, feeling pressured to explain why when Anastasia looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Why?"

"Here we go again," Chris muttered, trying to blow hair out of his face.

Stacy shot him a look and turned back to Matt, hoping he would elaborate on his sudden need to leave the home.

"I have a, um— date," he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Oh!'

Matthew stared at Anastasia, wishing she would say something more. Stacy stayed quiet, resuming flicking through her 2019 yearbook with an inaudible remark.

"Okay, well..." Matt trailed off, quietly dapping his brothers up and standing over Anastasia, waiting to say goodbye.

"See ya," she blinked, looking up at him.

Matt pursed his lips, muttering the same two words back and made his way downstairs.

"Off so soon, love? I made Vietnamese rolls," Jaqueline Paton asked the boy as he grabbed his keys off of the kitchen counter.

"Oh, I would love to stay but I have somewhere to be, sorry, Jackie!" Matt explained sympathetically.

Jackie nodded understandingly, quickly grabbing a reusable plastic container and placing two of the rice paper rolls inside of it. She kindly handed it to Matt who grinned widely.

"Thanks, Jackie! Love ya," Matt beamed up at her, giving the older woman a hug and bolting out to his car that was a couple of swift steps away from the Paton household.
