Sitting on the ground with her legs crossed, Valentine was watching Gon and Leorio, her eyebrow raised in curiosity; while Killua sat behind her on the windowsill.

The two had pulled up Uoogre on the computer and Leorio leaned forward, explaining that they needed to find ways to make some quick cash.

'Let's search for ways that we can make quick cash in Yorknew!'

Nodding in agreement, Gon scooted the chair forward and his fingers began to type along the keyboard, while Valentine and Killua watched them; the blondes eyes glistening in amusement as she watched them.

With the bunny lollipop still between his lips, Killua's expression deadpanned and he turned to the side, his gaze looking towards Leorio.

Simple and stupid.

Just by observing this, Killua quickly determined that Leorio must've been an enhancer as well and rolled his eyes at the scene playing out in front of him.

'Huh? Swap?'

Getting up from her spot, Valentine rushed towards her friends and stood beside Gon, leaning forward to gaze at the screen, while Killua stood a bit behind them; staring at the screen with his arms crossed over his chest.

Dragging the mouse, Gon quickly clicked on the link and a tab opened as a page of information filled the screen.

"Swap meet: A gathering for the auction and barter of objects. See also: Conditional Auction"

Confused by what that was, Leorio's eyebrows furrowed together and Gon clicked on the highlighted word, causing another page to appear.

"Conditional auction: An exchange in which the seller specifies a non-monetary condition and hands the item over to the first buyer who satisfies that condition"

Hearing about conditions, a confused look formed on Gon's face and he tilted his head to the side, his eyes sparkling with confusion.

With her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, Valentine tilted her head to the side and her teeth bit into lower lip for a moment as she began to think about what that meant.

Closing his eyes, Killua turned his head to the side and hummed slightly.

'What does that mean?',Killua questioned.

Arching his eyebrows, a small smile formed on Leorio's face and his peanut brown eyes glistening in understanding.

'Alright.. I think I get it',Leorio stated and leaned up, placing two fingers under his chin,'So, there's another kind of auctioning'

A large, mischievous grin spread across Leorio's face and he cackled softly.

Staring at the man in front of her with wide eyes, Valentine leaned back slightly and looked at his expression with a look of suspicion in her gaze.

She never wanted to see that expression again; it was absolutely terrifying.

Sitting in the middle of town square, the older teen had decided to set up an arm-wrestling match against the public and Gon was the one who drawn the short straw.

Which meant that he was sitting at the table, one of his arms propped up in order to wrestle and the other resting there.

Meanwhile, Killua stood off to the side and was holding a large ring box which contained an opulent diamond ring.

The plan that Leorio had; in Killua's words "surprisingly", come up with was extremely simple and all they had to do was have Gon arm-wrestle with the public and in exchange, they had to pay a total of 10,000 Jenny in order to participate.

Which Valentine found absurd.

Seeing that he was only a young boy, everyone standing in the crowd was incredibly intrigued and immediately began to call out in interest, waving their money in the air.

Sooner or later, the sky was black tranquility married to a poetry of stars. It was the softness that called body and brain to rest and let the heart go to it's steady rhythm.

In the serenade of the black, the stars were similar to a choir; they were the lights that sung in infinite patterns.

The night was a special kind of inky darkness, the kind that wants only to hold the stars and help them to shine all the brighter; as if they were an explosion of tranquility. It was a warm black that hugged the soul no matter what, that innocent inborn spark.

It was the pure blanket that made the moon oh so beautiful.

The streets and stalls along the streets were all lit up with lanterns that burned with a blazing flame, everyone was still crowded around, circling Gon's match as if it were the best thing to ever happen in this city.

Person after person, bid after bid, many contenders continued to lose against Gon and it was clear to the silverette and the blonde that he felt guilty for tricking these people.

He had beaten over 150 people.

Even though Gon was sweating, he wasn't running out of steam and the actual reason for that was because he was breaking out in a cold sweat just thinking about tricking all of these people.

Suddenly, a young woman with petite young woman, short-layered black hair and brown eyes walked forward; she was wearing a black turtleneck and jeans, accessorized with black-framed glasses and a necklace bearing St. Peter's Cross.

Tilting her head to the side, Valentine furrowed her eyebrows together and was confused by the tightening feeling that spread throughout her chest, an old sound flashed through her head; her throat tightening and as a short intake of breath filled the air.

Screams of a young girl echoed through her mind as she stiffened up and her eyes slowly turned into a shade of rust, her gaze going blank as she was pulled into her own mind.

Why was she remembering this?

Why was she feeling this way and what did it have to do with the woman in front of her?

Feeling as the girl beside him stiffened up, eyes of ice turned Valentine's way and Killua's gaze filled with confusion and concern at the look on her face, seeing the way her eyes were darker than usual.

'Look at that, we have our first female challenger!',Leorio exclaimed, riling up the crowd as they watched her make her way towards the stand,'What's your name and where are you from?'

As the woman ignored his words, Leorio frowned and ignored the feeling of anger that filled his chest, before feeling a drop of sweat fall down his temple.

With a look of concern, Killua gently placed his hand on Valentine's shoulder and watched as she snapped out of whatever her mind had pulled her into, her gaze turning towards him.

What he saw caused his eyes to widen and worry crashed through his body like a tsunami.

Her beautiful eyes that were once a magnificent shade of golden; that reminds him of a goddess, were now a rusted color and her eyes glistened with unshed tears that threatened to spill over.

Slowly reaching his hand down, the silverette gently grabbed her hand; reaching across her hand to where their palms were centered, making an X; and closed his hand around hers. Steadily, he gently rubbed his thumb across the back of her hand and tried to calm her the best that he could, still concerned for what had caused her to suddenly tear up.

But then, he immediately realized when she had begun to act this way and glanced at the woman who was challenging Gon, understanding what was going on.

It was clear that Valentine might've known this woman and quite possibly, their history wasn't a good one.

This woman, unlike all of the other contestants, caused an vigorous pressure to fall over Gon and he struggled to overpower the young woman, no longer acting to struggle.

As the two struggled, the green-haired boy was actually beginning to sweat and he clenched his teeth, his muscles straining as he continued to try and win.

Even though it was a very close match, the boy had eventually won and he leaned back, letting out a small sigh of relief; huffs of exhaustion leaving his lips.

Bowing her hand, the woman thanked Gon for the opportunity to wrestle him and this caused the young boy to bow as well.

Standing to her feet, the woman slowly began to walk away and turned her head, longingly staring at the diamond.

Gently tugging her hand, Killua had the girl stick by his side as he went towards Gon and he leaned down, his eyes narrowed as he watched the woman walk away.

'Was that.. full power?',Killua muttered.

Nodding in response, Gon gently rubbed his hand and nodded, glancing towards the two.

Just as he was about to look away, he did a double-take and looked towards Valentine, seeing her expression which caused a look of concern to fill his eyes.

Slowly, he tore his gaze from his friend and looked back towards the woman who walked off, caressing his wrist.

'Yeah.. I wonder who she is',Gon remarked, relaxing his muscles and gently rubbed his aching hand; which ached from the pressure of her grip.

Continuing their scam up until the shade of night, the group of four had called it a night and decided to head back to the hotel.

Running by the river, a small child with blonde hair and eyes of that of a goddesses flower, was smiling brightly as she run as fast as she could, small giggles breaking past her lips.

'I'm going to get you, Val!'

Giggles and a small scream of excitement left the child's lips as she ran as quickly as her little legs could carry her, her eyes glistening with playfulness; the thought of her friend catching her caused a burst of nervousness and happiness to spread through her body.

A young girl with raven hair, black and straight, moves as soft prairie grass in summer wind. It gives contrast to her face, sweetly dark upon soft brown skin and her eyes were the softest brown infused with green, as if he held the new spring growth inside. They were the forest floor and the gentle flowers, somewhere to rest and breathe.

It was easy to tell that the two children were around ten years of age.

The young girl tried to keep up with her friend as she ran away, but as soon as she had gotten into the tall grass, she lost sight of her and stopped in puzzlement, her innocent eyes blinking as she gently moved a piece of tall wheat out of the way, her chubby cheeks pouting out as she pouted.

Still running through the field of wheat, small giggles filled the air before she eventually came to a stop and crouched down in the field, a small hand covering the girl's mouth as she contained her laughs, her eyes crinkling as she smiled.

The young girl didn't realize how far out she had went and the scream that echoed throughout the air, never reached her ears.

It seemed as if hours had flown by; but in reality it had only been around five minutes, causing the young girl to slowly stand to her feet and pout, thinking that her friend had forgotten about her.

Either that or she quit because she couldn't find her.

Slowly walking back the way she had come, the young girl let out a small sputter as a grain of wheat went into her mouth and she hurriedly wiped it off of her lips, before continuing on.

As she got closer and closer to the end of the field, the young girl began to grow worried as she looked up at the sky.

It wasn't dark, so her friend should've been able to find her by now.

Hearing muffled voices, the young girl slowly came to a slow walk and her footsteps grew silent as she cautiously approached the few rows of wheat that were close to the end.

Suddenly, a feeling of nausea spread through the girl and she held her hand to her mouth, eyes filling with tears as she tried to remain as quiet as possible as she took in the scene in front of her.

There, her friend laid in a puddle of her own blood and soul-less grey eyes stared up at the sky, a group of people surrounding her body.

'Damnit, this is the wrong kid, she doesn't fit the description at all'

Even though she was on the brink of vomiting, the young girl listened closely to what they were saying and her eyes trailed up towards the figures.

'Wait.. so you're telling me that this isn't the contract killers daughter?'

Wondering who they were talking about, tears streamed down the young child's face and she contained the small hiccupy-sob that she so desperately wanted to release.

'No, this isn't the girl on the boss's list. This isn't Valentine Nitsune'

Feeling her eyes widen, the young child's face scrunched up as a waterfall of tears poured down her face and a feeling of terror washed over her body.

She had to get home.

She had to get to her sister, to her mother, her brother and her father.

She had to run and go home, before these people found her.
