Once they had gotten inside, the sight of Pitou using their healing ability to heal a young girl filled their vision and Valentine's eyes widened slightly at the sight of blood coating the young girl's body.

Turning to face them as they approached, Pitou's eyes widened slightly and Gon's aura darkly radiated off of his body.

'Do you.. remember who I am?',The boy asked and tightly clenched his fists together,'My name is Gon Freecss and I came here for one reason; to make you restore Kite!'

The boys words fell on deaf ears as Pitou stared at the boy with wide eyes and protectively took a stance in front of Komugi, staring at the children intensely with that one thing in mind.

Noticing that something was off, Valentine's eyes narrowed and she carefully examined the situation.

Glancing from Pitou's posture and the young girl behind the ant, a small and barely audible gasp left her cherry lips as her eyes widened slightly; the realization striking her quickly.

The way Pitou was crouching in front of the girl reminded the young blonde of a mother cat defending it's cub with her own body; protecting it's young from a predator.

But Gon could only stare at the girl, thinking of Kite.

'Get away from her. Now'

Hearing the harsh tone as his clenched fist shakes, Valentine glanced between him, the defending Chimera Ant and the injured girl.

They were reading this all wrong.

Pitou wasn't trying to harm the young girl.

They were defending her.

And seeing the way Pitou's eyes widened and Gon's words as they moved themselves in front of the girl more, Valentine knew she was correct.

'I said step away from her'

As the boy began to step forward, the young blonde's body moved on it's own before she could stop it.

Her feet ran quick as she slid in front of Pitou and Gon, a bit of a distance away from the Chimera, her arms spread out as a small cloud of dust rose from below her feet, her eyes narrowed as she stood in front of the boy who stopped; staring at her with a hard gaze as she stood in between him and his target.

Watching as Valentine placed herself in front of Gon, Killua gasped lightly and stepped forward, worry filling his body.

He knew that Gon would never hurt her, but with the current state of mind he was in, he couldn't be to sure of that fact.

'Move. Get out of the way, Valentine'

Watching as the young girl placed herself between them and her companion, Pitou looked up at the girl in surprise and a small breath shock left the ant's lips.

"Hold on, Gon, we have this all wrong! Based on Pitou's body language, they aren't trying to hurt the girl! It looks like they're trying to heal her!"

Hardened eyes stared at her without a care in the world and it caused Valentine's teeth to clench together, her muscles tightening as she stood guard in front of the injured girl and Chimera Ant.

Bending down, Pitou placed their palms upright and Gon's eyes widened slightly, causing Valentine to glance towards the ant, her gaze softening at the display that they didn't want to bring any harm, before she glanced towards the injured girl once more.

This girl..

'Please just.. wait a while'

Aura harshly bursted around Gon's body and Valentine's muscles tightened as her body flinched back slightly as goosebumps lined her arms.

' Are you kidding!? Why the hell should I wait for you!? Move Valentine, now!'

Seeing that she continued to hold her ground, Gon's teeth clenched and he looked towards Pitou.

'Get up! We're going outside!'

Finally realizing what was going on, Killua looked towards Gon and glanced towards Valentine, who held her ground with a narrowed gaze.

It was strange to see Valentine face against Gon like this, but Killua knew that she was trying to protect the life of the young girl behind the ant.

Watching as Gon stepped closer, Pitou glanced between the girl and him.

'I'll do anything!'

Stopping just in front of Valentine, the two sibling-like friends stared at each other with narrowed eyes and the young blonde's hands shook slightly.

She didn't want to be standing against her friend like this, but an innocent life was in danger right now and he had no care in the world about it.

This wasn't the Gon she knew.

So, she's for sure as hell standing her ground to protect this young girl, even if it meant facing against her friend.

'I'll do anything you want me to do! But you have to wait, because I.. I have to save this person no matter the cost!'

'Save? What do you mean by save, huh?'

'Anything? You say that you'll do anything?',Killua asked.

He started stepping closer and hearing Gon's words, he came to a complete stop.

'Killua, I'm asking the questions here'

Seeing how badly Gon's words affected her boyfriend, Valentine tensed up and clenched her jaw.

This definitely wasn't the same kind Gon she knows.

'What do you mean by save? Tell me'

Sweat slowly fell down Pitou's face and they glanced at Valentine, noticing her tense posture.

This girl was putting her friendship with this boy on the line just to protect an innocent life.

'This girl is.. precious to someone I really care about, more than you could possibly know'

And that was the truth.

'Because of her, the King became who he is today. If she ceases to exist, the King will cease to be who he is. She means that much. So, all I want is for her to live. I beg you to let me heal her and then I'll do anything you ask of me. So please, just wait!'

Silence filled the room and Valentine gulped slightly as she watched Gon, noticing that his dark eyes turned towards her.

Noticing how much she wanted to save this innocent life, Gon's jaw clenched.

'You want.. to save her life? You're telling me that you really.. want to save this girls life? And you even convinced... my best friend.. to protect you from me..'

Shaky breaths filled the air as Gon's body shook and Valentine took a step back, sweat falling down the side of her face.

"Gon.. that's not what's-"

'Quiet.'

Body tensing, Valentine stared at Gon with wide eyes.

'You say that you're trying to protect an innocent life.. but haven't you.. taken many innocent lives yourself? Your own friend was killed because of you..'

Hearing his harsh words and the way he mentioned Hatsumi's death and sacrifice, tears filled Valentine's eyes and a shadow casted over her face as she looked at the ground, her body shaking.

The atmosphere in the room tightened more and the others felt like they couldn't breath as Killua's body shook, his eyes wide as he watched his friends face off against one another.

This wasn't right.

They weren't like this.

They were like siblings.

They wouldn't actually fight each other, right?

No way.

They just wouldn't.

'Don't tell me what's not right.. when you've done it yourself'

Hearing the harsh words directed at his girlfriend, Killua angrily stepped forward and his jaw clenched tightly, his body seething with rage.

'Gon, what the hell!? You can't talk to her like—'

"How dare you.."

Hearing his girlfriend's words and monotoned voice, Killua stopped and his eyes widened, watching as she looked up with tears leaving her darkened eyes, causing Jaxon to tense up as he clenched his fists.

"How dare you speak to me like that? Bringing up my dead friend.. who sacrificed herself for me! As if it's my fault.. You have no right! So what if I've killed!? I never wanted to! It was against my will, I did it for my family, so that we could live happily together without having to separate because of money issues!", Valentine yelled as she seethed in rage,"You're right, we're not the same, you're prepared to take an innocent life just because it benefits you to take your rage out on something! I know you're hurting Gon, but I won't let you go down the path that I once walked upon!"

Aura harshly bursted around Valentine's body and she stared at Gon with one of her eyes glowing brightly, her fists clenching as she tried to reason with her friend.

"You once saved me from myself and so, I'm trying to save you from becoming this. I won't let you become like me, no matter the cost! Even if it means I lose you!"

Watching the scene with wide eyes, Jaxon stared at his sister's dark expression and he knew that she meant every word.

But would she really go through with it.

Would she fight her own best friend to save an innocent life?

Of course she would, that's how his sister was. She'd sacrifice everything she had for the greater good.

The room was glowing brightly from the intense aura coming off the two and they stared at one another with hardened eyes.

It wasn't supposed to happen like this.

It was supposed to be an easy fight, but now, the fight was against each other.

'Wait, stop! Look Gon, that girl's really hurt',Killua spoke up and stepped closer, the feeling to protect his girl growing by the second,'Probably because of us and grandpa's Dragon Dive. Valentine's right, we have to wait because this is our fault'

'And?'

'And?! Pitou's likely healing her just like Valentine said'

'So?'

'Hold off, wait until it's done'

Fists tightened and teeth clenched.

'Likely? Probably? You want me to wait because of that!',Gon yelled, his body shaking,'Even if we did wait, there's no way we can guarantee that Pitou will follow through on that promise. Probably? Likely? For real! The hell with that, quite messing around! What the hell's the matter with you two!? You want.. you want me to trust this thing!? Seriously, because there's no way in hell—!'

Hearing bones snap, they all turned towards Pitou and Valentine gasped in shock, her eyes widening.

The Chimera Ant had broken their arm and their body shook in pain, before they pushed down more, the pressure causing a harsh snap to fill the air, their head bowed.

'If you'd like.. I'll break my right arm as well. And if that's not enough, then I'll break my legs!'

Whimpers of pain left the Ant's lips and the teenagers stared at the Chimera in shock.

'If you truly think that I won't keep my promise after I heal her, you can mangle my body all you want. As long as it doesn't hinder my ability to treat her, just let me do that! Please I'm begging you.. please let me save her!'

Gon's body shook and trembles in rage as he clenches his fists together tightly, his face twitching in anger.

Backing away, Gon held his hands to his head and his body kept trembling as he punched the ground, the stone cracking from his strength, his veins popping out of his skin.

'No fair.. it's not fair, damnit!',Gon screamed and punched the tile once more,'Why are you helping her anyway? After all of the things.. that you did to my friend Kite!'

'Gon!'

'Why?! I want you to tell me!'

The dark aura around the green-haired boys body exploded into a dark wave of light and Valentine stepped back, covering the injured girl and Chimers more with her body shielding them, her body shaking from the power being emitted from her friend.

The wind from his aura pushed back everyone's hair and Valentine clenched her fists, worry filling her as she stared at her friend as his aura came to a stop, falling to his knees.

His shaky and rage-filled breaths were all that could be heard within the small space and Valentine frowned deeply, staring at him with a hurt look on her face.

Even though his words hurt, she was still worried about him.

He was her friend.
