Sarah had been in England for five months, which is the same amount of time that she has been broken up with Jack for. If she was being honest, Sarah loved being back home after being away for so long. She spent her time watching her brother's football games, babysitting her nephews and niece, having girl time with Rebecca, her sister in-law, seeing her parents, spending time with her friends from school and enjoying the cooler weather. It gave her time to reflect on her life, now being newly single, which helped her make the decision that she didn't want another relationship.

After being in such a toxic relationship, Sarah felt no need or want to get into anything with anyone. She was happy and content with being a very independent woman without having anyone in her life. Yes, she has her family and friends, but she didn't need a boyfriend or a girlfriend. So, she made a promise to herself that she'd not get into a relationship for her mental well being and so she'd never get hurt again.

"Thanks again for picking me up" Sarah says to her best friend, who she begged to pick her up from the airport at five in the morning. Sarah had thought about getting an uber back to their house, but she didn't want to spend forty dollars on getting home, so she went with the next best option which was Lilith.

"You don't need to thank me you know" Lilith says with a laugh. At first, Lilith had said no to picking Sarah up, but that was mostly because Lilith didn't want to wake up so early. But after Sarah had begged for two minutes straight, Lilith finally gave in and said yes "I would of ended up saying yes either way, and I would rather pick you up than have you waste money on an uber."

"But did you seriously have to come in your pajamas?" Sarah asks, seeing that Lilith was in her red and black plaid pajama pants and plain black t-shirt that she normally wears for bed. Sarah had noticed that Lilith wears them every night, especially since she found out that Lilith has six matching pairs of the pants and the top.

"Don't judge me, okay? As soon as we get into the house, I'm going to sleep" Lilith says "If I fell asleep, I wouldn't of woken up to get you, so I just stayed awake."

"Lily!" Sarah loudly says to her, feeling bad "You should of just gone to sleep and said you couldn't pick me up."

"Again, would rather pick you up than you get an uber" Lilith says as she pulls up to the house. It wasn't a massive house, since it was only for two people, but they were very happy with it.

"Fine, but I owe you" Sarah says with a huff as the two get out of the car while Sarah feels guilty about Lilith not sleeping.

"Yeah, I know" Lilith says as the two walk into the house "Um, just to let you know, I did unpack some of your things but there are still some stuff in boxes 'cause I didn't know where'd you want them all. Just thought I'd let you sort all of that out."

"Thank you, Lils" Sarah says with a smile as she pulls Lilith in for a hug "I love you so much."

"I love you too S" Lilith says "I'm glad you're back. I feel like I haven't seen you in ages."

"Because you haven't, which I'm also sorry about" Sarah says as she pulls away from the hug with tears in her eyes "If I had realised what Jack was like sooner then maybe--"

"Don't you dare apologise for what he did to you" Lilith says in a strong tone "Everything he did was not your fault, okay? He's a dickhead who deserves nothing and I'm so proud of you for getting out of that relationship. So, no, you don't need to apologise for anything."

What Lilith said meant a lot to Sarah. Over the past few months being at home, she felt guilty for what happened while she was in her relationship with Jack. She distanced herself from her best friend and family, and while everyone has told her that Jack manipulated her into doing that, she still felt some responsibility for that. It wasn't Jack that distanced himself, it was her. If she had noticed how toxic Jack was earlier in the relationship, then maybe she wouldn't of done what she did.

"I'm still really sorry" Sarah says as she starts crying "I really shouldn't have shut you out, no matter what Jack was telling me. I'm so sorry, Lils."

"Again, you don't have to be sorry" Lilith says, pulling Sarah in for another hug "You should probably get some sleep, I bet you're tired after that long flight."

"Not as tired as you are right now" Sarah says with a laugh as the two pull away from the hug.

"Me? No, I'm wide awake" Lilith sarcastically says before yawning "Yeah, I'm exhausted. You want to sleep in my room, like old times?"

"I thought you'd never ask" Sarah says with a smile as the two head up to Lilith's room to try and get some sleep.
