into the upside down
After being pulled into the water, and Asher trying to get whatever was holding onto Steve's leg off of him, Asher and Steve get pulled through the gate, into the Upside Down. Asher had thought about what the Upside Down would look like, but he imagined it to look much scarier than it actually was. If he was being honest, he was actually kind of disappointed with that fact.
"What the fuck was that?" Asher says as he tries to get his breath back "Holy shit."
"Come on, get up" Steve says as he stands up before holding out his had to help Asher up, which Asher accepts as they hear a loud noise coming from behind them.
As the two turn around, they see something flying towards them. It looked like a bat, but at the same time, the two both knew it wasn't a bat. As they noticed that it started getting closer to them, they looked around to see them coming from every direction.
"Dude, the boat" Asher points out, seeing two oars in the boat, making them run over to it, picking one up each as they start to hit the bats that got closer to them.
However, when one grabbed Steve by the neck, Asher was caught off guard, making one of the bats grab his arm "Get off of me, you piece of shit!" Asher yells, hitting the bat that had grabbed onto him, but instead of it flying away, it started biting into Asher's arm, making another bat grab Asher by the neck. As Asher was struggling to breath, he felt the tightness around his neck loosen, making him turn around to see Eddie stood with an oar in his hand, hitting the bat that had a hold of him. So, Asher grabs the tail of the bat that is biting into his arm, before pulling the tail away from his arm, making the bat let go before repeatably chucking it on the ground.
"Steve! Ash!" Nancy says as all of the bats had either flown away or are dead "Are you two okay?"
"Well, they took about a pound of flesh. But other than that, yeah, never better" Steve explains before the two look at Asher's arm, seeing it dripping with blood "Dude, your arm."
"Meh, had worse" Asher says with a shrug before looking at his arm, seeing that a lot of the flesh had gone "Oh god, that's disgusting" Asher mumbles as he looks away from it.
"Uh, do you guys think these bats have, like, rabies?" Robin asks, making the group look over at her "It's just that rabies are, like, my number one greatest fear. And I think that we should get you two to a doctor, like, really soon because once the symptoms set in, it's too late. You're already dead."
"Wow, Robin, that's just, uh..." Asher tries to think of what to say "Um, that's fantastic information."
"Thank you" Robin says to Asher as they see more bats flying over to them, but instead of attacking them, they landed in front of the gate.
"All right. There's not that many. We can take them" Steve says to the group before they see a massive group of the bats flying in their direction.
"Can we take that?" Asher asks, pointing to the air.
"The woods, come on" Nancy says, making the five start running into the woods.
As the five kept running through the woods, they ended up at Skull Rock, where they previously were before going into the Upside Down, which coincidentally was the perfect place to hide from the bats. After the loss of blood and all of the running, Asher started to feel a bit light headed, but he wasn't going to bring it up. All that would do would stop them from getting back home, which they kind of needed to do.
"Oh... okay" Robin says as they all start to get up from under the rock, seeing that all of that bats had flown past them "That was close."
"You don't say" Asher sarcastically says as Steve goes to get up, but ends up falling into the side of the rock.
"Oh, shit" Steve mumbles as he looks down at his stomach.
"Steve?" Nancy asks, looking back to see that Steve is struggling to stand, so she goes over to check on him.
"I'm fine, I'm fine" Steve reassures Nancy.
"No, no, no. You're losing blood" Nancy says before turning to glance at Asher's arm "The both of you are.
"I'm all good" Asher says, struggling to keep his eyes open. From the loss of blood and the lack of sleep, Asher felt like he could pass out at any minute.
"You're not good, man" Eddie tells Asher, seeing his eyes trying to close "Sit down."
"Eddie, I'm--" Asher goes to say but gets cut off.
"Sit down, now" Eddie says to Asher, making him sit down "Okay, how am I going to do this?"
"Use this" Asher mentions, ripping the sleeves off of his shirt, turning it into a vest before handing the sleeves to Eddie.
"Well, that's your favourite shirt ruined" Eddie jokes as he wraps the sleeves around Asher's arm, using them as a bandage.
"I can get a new one" Asher jokes back "Oh, I can't... I got no money."
"I'll get you a new one after all of this is over" Eddie says to Asher with a small smile "It'll be the best shirt you ever had."
"That's what I said after you bought me this one" Asher points out with a laugh.
"Well, you're gonna say it about the next one you get" Eddie tells Asher "And your arm is now fixed!" Eddie happily says, making Asher look down at his poorly wrapped up arm. Not that he was complaining about it; it was better than Asher could of done and it was better than his arm not being bandaged up at all... even if it was by his favourite shirt.
"Fucking finally" Asher says with a sigh as he stands up, stumbling a bit.
"No, no" Robin says as she runs over, stopping Asher from falling over "Sit back down. You lost a lot of blood."
"Robin, I'll be fine" Asher reassures the girl "Calm down."
"You lost a lot of blood" Robin repeats herself "You're arm was basically ripped open and you have a chance of getting rabies. Rabies are no joking matter. You could die and--"
"Robin" Asher says, cutting Robin off.
"Yeah" Robin says as she looks at Asher.
"I'll pass these rabies onto you if you don't stop saying I'm gonna die" Asher bluntly says to Robin "Honestly, I'm all good. It's just a little scratch."
"A little scratch? We could nearly see your bone in your arm!" Robin says, making Asher sigh "That's a lot of flesh."
"I'll be okay" Asher reassures Robin again "You don't need to worry."
"So, uh, this place is like Hawkins, but with monsters and nasty shit?" Eddie asks, now suddenly being on top of one of the rocks.
"When the fuck did he get up there?" Asher asks Robin, who just shrugs in reply.
"Pretty much" Nancy answers Eddie's question as she helps Steve stand up as Eddie goes to climb down from the rock "Wait, watch out for the vines. It's all a hive mind."
"It's all a what?" Eddie asks, still standing at the top of the rock.
"All the creepy crawlies around here, dude" Steve explains "They're, like, one or something. You step on a vine, you're stepping on a bat, you're stepping on Vecna."
"Shit" Eddie mutters before carefully climbing down from the rock.
"But everything from our world is still here, right? Expect people, obviously?" Robin asks.
"As far as I understand, yes it is" Nancy says with a nod.
"So, theoretically, we could go to the police station and steal guns and grenades and whatever we need to blow up those bat things that are guarding the gate" Robin explains to the group.
"I want a grenade!" Asher says happily, making Robin give him a weird look "I like blowing shit up. Don't judge me."
"I highly doubt the Hawkins PD has grenades" Steve says to the two "But guns, I mean, yeah, sure."
"Well, we don't have to go all the way downtown for guns" Nancy tells them "I have guns in my bedroom."
"You, Nancy Wheeler, have guns, plural, in your bedroom?" Eddie asks in shock.
"Full of surprises, isn't she?" Robin asks Eddie.
"She's just that badass" Asher says, giving Nancy a nod of approval.
"A Russian Makarov and a revolver" Nancy says to Eddie.
"Yeah, you almost shot me with that one" Steve tells Nancy.
"You almost deserved it" Nancy says to Steve with a smile.
"God, can you two stop with the flirting please?" Asher asks, making a gagging noise "I'm very lonely right now and I don't need to be hearing or seeing this shit."
"What are--" Steve goes to ask, but gets cut off by Eddie's denim jacket being thrown at him.
"For your modesty, dude" Eddie tells Steve, right before the ground starts shaking, making both Eddie and Robin fall on top of Asher.
"Ow" Asher groans in pain after the ground stops shaking "Can you two please get off of me?"
"Sorry" Eddie and Robin both mutter out an apology as they get off of Asher.
TIME SKIP BY ASHER JUST BEING ASHER
The group had made it to the Wheeler house, going straight to Nancy's room to look for her guns, but instead of finding them, they found shoes. And since Nancy was so sure that the guns where in her room, they looked around, but instead of finding guns, they realised that the Upside Down is stuck in the 6th November 1983, the day that Will went missing. So, the group had to try and think of a different way to make it back home.
"Dustin! Dustin!" Eddie, Nancy, Asher and Robin hear Steve yelling from downstairs, making them all run down to see Steve yelling to thin air "Can you hear me? Dustin! Dus--- Hello! Hel-- Hello!"
"Is he okay in the head?" Asher asks the group as they watch Steve yelling "Does he have rabies? Am I going to get rabies?"
"Maybe he really does have rabies" Robin whispers before looking at Asher "You're next."
"I'm next?" Asher asks Robin, looking down at his arm.
"Steve, what are you doing?" Nancy asks, making Steve turn to look at the four.
"He's here. Henderson. That little shit, he's here" Steve says to them "He's like... he's in the walls or something. Listen. Dustin. Dustin! Dustin! Can you hear me?" Steve says as the four listen, able to hear Dustin talking, which makes them all walk around the room, screaming Dustin's name.
"All right, either this kid can't hear us or he's being a total douchebag" Steve points out, realising they're not going to get an answer from him.
"Maybe it's like when Will went missing" Asher suggests "Like, no one could hear Will, so he talked through the lights."
"You're onto something" Nancy says to Asher, as she tries to turn on all of the lights in the room.
"Guys?" Steve says, pointing his flashlight to the main light, showing it to have an orange sparkle "You seeing this?" He asks, making Nancy walk over to it, waving her hand across the sparkles, seeing it go lighter while the rest of the group joined in.
"It... tickles" Steve points out as Asher hears the chiming of a clock, making him turn around, seeing the grandfather clock from the Creel house in the corner of the room.
"Asher" He hears a deep voice say as the clock chimed again.
"Ash! Ash!" Nancy yells at Asher, making him turn to face her "Are you okay? You kind of zoned out for a minute."
"Y-yeah, I'm good" Asher stutters out before turning back around to see that the clock is now gone "I just thought I saw something."
While Asher knew that he should of brought up that he saw the exact same clock that Max saw when she knew that Vecna was going to come after her, he also knew that getting home was the main priority. So, Asher had decided to leave it until they got back home to bring up the fact that there is a slight chance that he could be cursed too... or that he might have rabies. Both situations were logical at this point in time. But, as for right now, getting home was the main priority.
"We found a way to talk to Dustin, come on" Nancy says before Asher follows her back to Nancy's room, seeing that there was the a sparkly orange light on Nancy's bed.
"Okay, you guys seeing this?" They hear Dustin say, making Nancy wave her hand by the sparkles, making it brighter.
"Holy shit!" They hear Erica say.
"They dragged Erica into this again?" Asher asks the group "What did that poor kid do to deserve that?"
"You dragged me into this" Eddie points out to Asher.
"You're in your twenties... she's a child" Asher tells Eddie, making Eddie shrug in response.
"We're not moving it, but we're gonna unplug it. Stand by" They hear Dustin say to them, making the sparkles disappear "Okay, try it now" He says, making Asher now wave his hand to write 'hi' where the sparkles once where, making some sparkles appear again.
"Hey" They hear Lucas say.
"That worked!" They hear Dustin yell.
"Yes! Yes! Hi!" Eddie yells.
"Okay, um..." Nancy says before writing out 'stuck'.
"Stuck?" They hear Dustin say.
"We are" Robin says.
"They're stuck in the Upside Down" They hear Lucas suggest to Erica and Dustin.
"Uh, you can't get back through Watergate?" Dustin asks the group.
"What the hell is Watergate?" Steve asks.
"'Cause it's in water and it's a gate" Robin suggests, thinking of the most logical thing.
"That's cute" Eddie points out before Nancy writes out 'guarded'.
"Okay, Watergate's guarded" They hear Dustin say, making Eddie and Asher clap.
"We think we have a theory that can help with that" They hear Dustin tell them.
"That's my brother!" Asher happily shouts "My little genius brother!"
"We think Watergate isn't the only gate" Dustin tells them "That there's a gate at every murder site."
"Does anyone understand what he's talking about?" Nancy asks the group, being very confused.
"No idea" Eddie and Steve say at the same time, making the group look at Asher.
"Don't look at me, I'm normally the confused one here" Asher says, making Steve roll his eyes as Nancy draws out a question mark.
"Okay. Seriously?" They hear Dustin yell "How many times do I have to be right on the money before you guys just trust me?"
"That little dickhead" Asher says with a scoff.
"Yeah, he needs to get his ego in check" Steve agrees with Asher.
"It's his tone, right?" Eddie asks, also joining in on the conversation.
"His tone and his ego" Asher tells Eddie "I think I've told him he's a genius too many times."
"Then stop asking him to help you with your homework" Steve suggest to Asher as he rolls his eyes.
"It's confusing and he's the smartest person I can ask for help" Asher tells Steve.
"Okay" Nancy says, stopping their conversation as she looks at Eddie "So, how far is your trailer?"
"Seven miles" Eddie answers.
"Nancy? I know your house here, is like, weirdly, creepily frozen in time and shit, but haven't you always had bikes?" Robin asks.
