sinai woke up to the sunlight beaming into the room. her head was pounding and her joints were aching. she sat up in the bed she woke up in and rubbed her eyes, trying to adjust to the bright lighting. once she opened her eyes, she looked around the room, quickly realizing that she was in elaina's bedroom.

sinai swings her legs over the edge of the bed and stands up. she leaves the room and walks into the hallway that leads into the living room. "there she is!" jace announces with a big smile on his face. "fuck off." sinai responds, making her way over to the couch where elaina and claudia are sitting. "someone's cranky." jace mutters.

"how do you feel?" elaina asks. "fucking horrible. my head feels like it's about to explode and i have no idea why." sinai answers, sitting next to elaina, laying her head on her shoulder.

"you seriously don't remember what happened?"

sinai turns around and peers over the couch. "all i remember is going to a party last night." she shrugs. everyone just looks at her. sinai furrows her eyebrows. "did i do something wrong -- why are you all looking at me like that?"

"you seriously don't remember anything from the party last night?" malachi asks.

"no, i'm being so for real. i remember nothing."

amari sighs. "well, we saw pluto like not even ten minutes into the party, you got-"

"what." sinai sits up, deadpanning amari. "i'm literally not even kidding." amari says, throwing her hands up in defense.

"but anyways," she disregards. "you got drunk as shit because you tried to get your mind off of him, you kept wandering around, and when we were about to leave we found you on the stairs latched onto pluto."

sinai just blinks. she was trying to picture herself latched onto chris at a halloween party at someone's house. that made absolutely no sense to her. how in the world could she hate him one day, and then next be latched onto him?

"don't bullshit me."

amari's jaw drops slightly, along with her eyebrows furrowing. "i'm literally not! i have proof, i'll show you," amari says, pulling out her phone and pulling something up.

"here," she walks over to sinai and hands her the phone. sinai takes the phone out of amari's hands and looks at the picture displayed on the screen. elaina and claudia peer over her to look at the screen as well. it takes sinai a while to process what's going on in the picture. it was her and chris on the steps. her arms were laced around one of chris' arms and she was looking at him with a bright smile on her face.

sinai looks up from the phone and hands it back to amari. "how did you even get this?" she asks.

being the instigator he is, bralo speaks up. "she deadass pretended she was doing something on her phone and took the picture."

"mar-"

"first of all! i wasn't pretending, i actually was doing something on my phone and something just told me to take a picture of you two." amari explains.

"that is so embarrassing. why didn't any of you say anything?"

"we couldn't! you kept wandering around like a fucking toddler and you were too drunk to remember." jace chimes in.

"it's not my fault you guys told me to 'have a few drinks and you'll be fine' like what?"
