"You saw WHAT?"
Dongseok stood up abruptly making everyone at the table go quiet.
"Alpha I saw the omega and doctor running towards-"
"I HEARD WHAT YOU SAID!" yelled Dongseok causing the guard to flinch. "Why are you still here? CATCH THAT FUCKING BASTARDS."
The guard bowed and ran out of the room. The other alphas comforted Dongseok, sympathizing with him about how hard it must be that one of your heirs has been taken away from you.
Within seconds, at least a hundred wolves came rushing out of the mansion. When they entered the forest, they split into smaller groups. Each group ran in a different direction, in searching for the omega and beta.
"Wait-" said Jin making Hoseok stop in his tracks. "Did you hear that?"
The two stood still and listened. They only heard the sound of birds chirping until a howl echoed through the forest. Panic set in as they didn't get the long jumpstart they wanted. Jin and Hoseok looked at each other with wide eyes for a second and then immediately started running.
They were well aware that they would be able to run faster in their wolf forms but then their scents with be stronger. They would then be tracked down much faster.
The two ran towards the north, following the sun. They did their best to ignore the howls and focused all their energy on just running as fast as they could.
The young beta leading his group spotted movement in the corner of his eye. He turned his head and realized who the two figures were. He commanded his group to follow him and proceed to lead them in the exact opposite way of where Jin and Hoseok were running.
Jin and Hoseok found the river Bon-Hwa told them about. They carefully stepped on the rocks one by one. Hoseok gulped seeing the strong stream of the river. If he or Jin fell in this water there would be no getting out, at least not unharmed.
Hoseok eyes widened seeing the big gap between the last rock and the ground. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath in. He then took a big leap and landed on the grass.
Jin stepped on the rock and then froze seeing how far he must jump to get to the bank.
"Hoseok, I can't do this!"
Jin started breathing faster, looking at Hoseok with wide eyes.
"Hey don't panic. I have a plan."
Hoseok looked around and spotted what he needed. He picked up the rock and placed it in the water.
"Okay now go. I got you," said Hoseok and extended his hand towards Jin.
Jin carefully stepped on the rock and took hold of his hand. Hoseok helped him over to the other side.
Jin wanted to catch his breath, but Hoseok pulled on his hand as he started running again.
Seconds after they disappeared in between the trees again, a group of wolves came running past the river. They didn't even bother checking on the other side of the river as they believed the two could have never crossed the wide river.
A sharp pain shot through Jin's head making him shut his eyes. When he opened them again, his vision was blurry. Jin told Hoseok to let off his hand, but Hoseok was too focused on running in the correct direction to hear him.
"Stop," whispered Jin just loud enough for Hoseok to hear.
Jin's head started spinning and he heard Hoseok say something, but he couldn't make out what. It felt like his voice came from a distance.
"Jin, can you hear me?"
Hoseok placed his hand on Jin's shoulder. He frowned when Jin lifted his hand to his forehead.
"Are you okay...Jin oh-"
Hoseok gasped when Jin fell. He caught him and placed him on the grass.
"Jin? Hey Jin?"
Hoseok lightly slapped Jin on his cheek a few times, hoping to get a response.
"Shit shit shit."
Jin was completely motionless. After tilting his head back, Hoseok leaned closer and listened for breathing sounds. Jin's breathing was stable making him sigh in relief.
Hoseok lifted Jin up and continued walking towards the hill. But only a few minutes later, Hoseok came to a stop in a tree's shade. He gently laid Jin down on the grass and plunged down next to him. Hoseok wiped the sweat off his forehead.
Hoseok brought Jin into his lap. A tear rolled down his cheek as he looked at his unconscious friend. He wished he could save them. He couldn't keep going, keep fighting, keep trying to act strong. He had no energy left. No power left. All he wanted st that moment was to give up.
