Jin and Hoseok's heads simultaneously turned towards the door.

"Who are you?" asked Hoseok when the beta stepped into the room.

"My name is Bon-Hwa. I mean no harm."

"Why were you listening in on our conversation?" asked Hoseok and crossed his arms.

"I completely understand why you're upset. My apologies, but I've been wanting to speak to you two for quite some time."

"About what?" asked Jin and look at the old man with frowned brows.

"I am to blame for everything that has happened to you. Though I speculated that Dongseok had bad intentions, I nevertheless shared my knowledge with him. As a result, you two suffered the consequences... so I wish to make it up to you. Let me tell you about a place where I believe you will be safe."

Even though they were somewhat skeptical of him, they were still intrigued by what the beta had to say.

"Following the river, it will lead you deep into the forest. Where the water falls over a rocky ledge into a plunge pool below, hides a secret entrance. Behind the falling water a cave that leads to a village. Hidden from the rest of the world, lives the Anjeon pack. 'Anjeon' meaning 'safety'...All wolves in the pack live in harmony with each other. They treat all like equals despite their ranks as like it should be."

Hoseok shook his head in disbelief. It sounds way too good to be true, so it is not.

"That place can't be real. It sounds like a fantasy," said Jin as if he read Hoseok's mind.

"I understand why you would think that. I thought the same. Only when I saw the village with my own eyes, I believed it."

"Still, you have no proof," said Hoseok. "How can we trust a word you say?"

"I'm not asking you to believe me. You must believe in the village. You can stay here and suffer in agony, or you can take a risk and claim your freedom. It is your choice."

That was the last thing the beta said before leaving the room.

Jin and Hoseok talked for days about the information the beta gave them. All they ever wanted was a way out of this hell, but now they are not sure if they could do it.
Though after discovering Jin is pregnant once again, their mindset shifted. All the doubt and fear pushed aside. It is not only about them anymore. It's about the future of the innocent life growing inside him.

In secret, they met up with Bon-Hwa. He helped them make a detailed plan so that the escape would be a success.

They tried hiding Jin's pregnancy for as long as possible, but after three months his belly got too noticeable. Word got out and Dongseok threw a big party, celebrating his soon-to-be second heir. This event was the perfect opportunity for them to make their escape.

Dressed in lengthy clothes, they made their way through the hallways. They also had the hoods of their pulled over their head, casting a dark shadow over their faces. None of the guards had any suspicion as they thought Bon-Hwa was showing two of the guests around the building.

"Please be careful," instructed Bon-Hwa before opening the door.

They followed him down the staircase. The tattered rotting wood cracked under their shoes. When Jin took the next step the plank broke in half, causing him to lose his balance. Hoseok grabbed Jin by the arm just in time.

"Are you alright?" asked Hoseok as help Jin lift his leg out of the hole.

"Yes...let's keep going."

Hoseok nodded and the three continued slowly moving down the stairs.
When they reached the end, a long dark tunnel laid ahead. Bon-Hwa took the torch of the wall. He led the way through the tunnels.

Hoseok and Jin glanced at each other as their suspicion increased. They know it was a big risk trusting a stranger with their lives, but they were so desperate to get a taste of freedom. They had no choice but to keep following Bon-Hwa and hope that there are truly people who will help you only from the kindness of their hearts.

They all sighed in relief when they spotted the light coming in from the end of the tunnel. Bon-Hwa took out a key from his pocket and opened the gate.

Jin and Hoseok stepped through the gate, their eyes blinking as they adjusted to the bright sunlight. Jin frowned when he heard the gate close behind him.

"Wait no, what are you doing?" asked Jin seeing Bon-Hwa standing on the other side of the gate.

Jin rushed to the gate. He tried opening it, but Bon-Hwa already locked it.

"Why- I thought you were coming with us."

Bon-Hwa shook his head.

"I'm an old man, I will hold you back. You must go without me. Now go!"

Hoseok took hold of Jin's hand, pulling him away from the gate. Bon-Hwa watched as the two ran towards the forest and then disappeared in between the trees.
