The wolf's eyes shone bloodred as he sprinted past the trees. It seemed as if his run was powered by ire. He took fast breaths while moving his legs at a hasty pace. He seemed distressed and lost. It looked as if he was trying to escape something.

The wolf slowed down to a walking pace. His tongue hung out of his mouth while he caught his breath. He walked onto the rocks and sat down on the edge. A gentle breeze stirred the black fur of the wolf. The rays of the sun reflected off his dark-brown highlights. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then shifted in his human form.

Namjoon crossed his legs, eyes locked on the view. The idyllic scene never gets old. Unruffled by the wind, it was vault still and restful. The body of water was glimmering in the sunlight. The lake had a deep cyanic color. The depths were veneer clear. At the bottom smooth-edged stones glowing amber was visible. No sound rang out from the shimmering emptiness of space around it.

The glorious luster of the water provided an oasis of serenity that placated Namjoon. The red color from his orbs faded and they returned to dark yellowish-brown color like raw umber.

The quietude was broken when footsteps could be heard. Namjoon glanced over his shoulder. The footstep became louder. Soon a wolf appeared from the forest. It had black fur with light brown highlights.

Namjoon recognized the scent. He was expecting him. His father knows he comes to this lake when he is upset.

The wolf transformed into his human form, and he then sat down next to Namjoon.

"Your mom told me what happen. I'm sorry Son," said his father making Namjoon sigh.

"You make it sound like it's a tragedy that I met my mate," said Namjoon and smiled sadly.

"It must have been a shock...Are you mad?"

"Of course I was angry when I saw my mate is carrying another alpha's child, but then I saw no mark on his neck. He is not mated. No omega would carry any other child than that of their mate...unless they were forced to."

Namjoon's father slowly nodded. He knew his son would have realized that.

"I'm glad you're not angry with your mate. He really is innocent."

The was a moment of silence. Namjoon was lost in his thoughts before he suddenly spoke again.

"You know what Dad. I am angry."

His father looked at him with frowned brows.

"I'm so angry at the fucking alpha who dare hurt MY mate," said Namjoon making his father's frown disappear. "It is so callous to use an innocent omega like that. Tell me you know who the alpha is!"

"It was Dongseok."

Namjoon clenched his jaw hearing that name. He stood up abruptly.

"It's always him," mumbled Namjoon as he walked towards the forest.

Namjoon's father got up and went after him.

"Namjoon, where are you going?"

"I am going to go kill him."

Namjoon eyes glowed red. His father was quick to stop him by stepping in front of him.

"I understand your anger, but revenge will not take away the pain he has given your mate."

The red faded from Namjoon's eyes at the realization. Killing Dongseok might give him some satisfaction but it's not what's important. His mate doesn't need him to kill his enemy; he needs him to be there for him. To protect him. To love him.

"I'm sorry for my behavior...It was so unlike me. I know I should think things through and not just act on anger."

"I think it's alright this time...Just try to be patient with your mate, " said his father. "Remember he isn't scared of you; he is scared of your rank. Show him how you're different."

Namjoon nodded and also gave a smile. The two alphas shared a hug. A hug of support and empathy.

The omega knocked on the door.

"Jin, it's me. I'm coming in."

Yujun entered the room and approached him. Jin looked up at her, his cheeks wet from the tears. Yujun sat down next to Jin.

"Do you think he hates me?"

"Hate is a very strong emotion. You don't just hate someone...He must just be confused."

Jin shook his head and covered his face with his hands.

"No no- he hates me. Why would an alpha want a mate who is carrying another alpha's child?"

There was a moment of silence. When Jin calmed down a bit, Yujun spoke again.

"Do you think I'm a nice person? Would you trust me?"

"Yes, and I do trust you," said Jin without any hesitation.

"Then trust me. Your mate is my son, Namjoon." Jin looked at her with wide eyes. "And I know my son; he would try his best to understand and accept."

Jin didn't say a word and broke eye connect. He placed his hand on his belly. He knew what Yujun meant; if he trusts her then he should also trust her son. He knew he shouldn't focus on their ranks, but Namjoon still had the ability to harm him and his unborn child.

"Do you know why Namjoon looked at your neck?" asked Yujun which made Jin snap out of his thoughts.

"No, why did he do that?"

"He checked if you were marked."

Jin frowned but then the realization hit him. It must have taken a lot of self-control to not get mad but instead find answers to questions.

"Oh, then he already knows," said Jin, and Yujun gave a nod.

"Jin, remember I'm right here and you are safe. Give Namjoon a chance to show you how he is different."

"Okay...I will try."

Yujun brought Jin in for a hug. A hug of support and empathy.
