Jin couldn't help but smile while Hoseok jabbered about his mate. He can't believe this is the same one who cried in his arms yesterday, scared of rejection and judgment. Now Hoseok is dragging him outside wanting him to meet his mate.

"Yoongi!"

The beta's head wiped to the side, immediately recognizing the voice. He saw his mate waving and the stranger next to him. Yoongi walked over the field to them.

"Yoongi, this is my friend I told you about," said Hoseok with a smile.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you Yoongi," said Jin and extended his hand for a handshake.

"Likewise," said Yoongi and shook his head.

Jin gazed over the field where the alphas and betas were focused on training and exercising.

"Are you a trainer?" asked Jin out of curiosity.

"Yes, that'll be correct."

The three continued a pleasant conversion while they looked at the field. Yoongi frowned when he saw the familiar figure. A little girl with bangs hiding behind the box of weapons.

"Will you two excuse me for a second," said Yoongi and turned to the field.

"You know I can see you."

The little girl gasped hearing Yoongi's voice.

"Lisa, we have already talked about this," said Yoongi as he approached her.

"But I did not touch anything. I just wanna watch."

"No, you're supposed to be in class right now. You can't keep skipping class like this."

"But I don't care about school. I want to train and be strong alpha," whined Lisa and stomped her feet.

"You're too young. When you are a little older, I promise I will train you and make sure you become a strong alpha."

"Pinky promise?"

Lisa extended her hand, pinky up. Yoongi locked pinkies with her.

"Pinky promise. Now off to class you go."

Lisa pouted and glanced at the alphas that were busy training. They looked so cool in her eyes.

"Do you need me to walk you to class?" asked Yoongi.

"No! I can do it myself," said Lisa and stormed off.

Yoongi just shook his head and walked back to Jin and Hoseok.

"What was that all about?" asked Hoseok.

"That was Lisa. I've lost count of how many times I have found her snooping around here instead of being in class. She is only nine but wants to start training so she can be a strong alpha."

"A female alpha. Aren't they rare?" asked Jin.

"Yes, they are. Lisa, her cousin, and her mother are the only female alphas in the Anjeon pack," said Yoongi.

"So cool. I bet she is going to be a great warrior someday," said Hoseok.

Yoongi nodded in agreement as he can already see the potential in Lisa.

Yoongi continued training and Hoseok stayed with him. Jin headed inside to Yujun. He quite like the company of the omega.

Jin and Yujun were having a lovely conversion until a howl echoed through the village.

"It's alright. Don't worry," said Yujun seeing that Jin started panicking.

"The howl was just an announcement. The hunting team must have returned. More than one howl is a warning of danger."

Jin gave a nod. They continued their conversation, but Jin was soon distracted again.

"Luna, do you smell that?"

Jin frowned when Yujun shook her head. He took another deep inhale. Yeah, he is definitely smelling something she isn't.

The scent was like a captivating floral gourmand with an added edge. The intoxicating fragrance pairs a black coffee accord with sensual vanilla and the softness of jasmine and orange blossom.

Jin looked over his shoulder when he heard the front door open. When the male stepped inside the scent got stronger. Jin unconsciously stood up as the male approached him.

The male's enticing scent oozes sensual, spicy notes like saffron, jasmine, cedarwood, and fir resin, set on a landscape of toasty amber. It's an Alpha. But Jin didn't feel scared, he was rather hypnotized by the scent. The scent of his mate.

Reality hit when the alpha's eyes land on Jin's baby bump. The alpha looked up again. Through eye contact, Jin could see the confusion and hurt.

The alpha stepped forward and lifted his hand to Jin's face. Jin closed his eyes, expecting the worst, but Jin only felt a hand lightly touching his chin. The alpha turned Jin's head to the side and inspected his neck. Finding no mark, he got a few of his questions answered.

Jin opened his eyes when the alpha let go of his chin. Jin then backed away from him, not trusting him to not hurt him. The alpha looked into the eyes of his mate. They were filled with fear and trepidation. A tear dropped on Jin's cheeks. He then turned around and ran down the hallway.

"Hey wait-"

The alpha tried running after his mate, but someone pulled him back.

"Namjoon don't. Give him some space," said Yujun who had watched the entire scene.

"But mom I need to talk to him," said Namjoon and walking towards the hallway.

"He is not going to talk. He is scared."

Namjoon stopped walking and sighed. Yujun walked up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"How about you go for a run while I talk to him," suggested Yujun.

Namjoon nodded in agreement and went outside. He morphed into his wolf form and ran to the cave. He exited the village and disappeared into the forest.
