Lav POV
The first 2 hours went slow but now I can go practice with Ben. I brought my ukulele, the one that my dad gave me when I was 4 and met Ben under the blossom tree in the schoolyard.
"hey Ben"  "hey Lav how it's going?"  "normal, Neveah is still annoying me but I'm not surprised anymore" he laughed at my response. "well I'm sorry for that but I have good news. I did some progress with the song" he let me listen to what he did and it was amazing. "how are you so talented?" I asked and he blushed. "we will definitely win." I said confidently. The day went by and it was funny with Ben then my dad came to pick us up.

Once we got home I dragged Ben to my room and we started playing some music. He saw my ukulele so he started to play a soft melody that reminded me of the beach. "that melody is beautiful" I said low trying not to ruin the moment. "my dad used to play it for me before he passed away" he smiled at the ukulele then to me. "I'm so sorry"  " it's fine. I know he's in a better place now".
I went over to my desk and took a piece of paper from a drawer. I handed it to Ben, who looked confused but also curious. "it's a part of a song I started years ago when my dad was always away. I think it would be perfect for the song" I sat next to him on my bed and he started to read the paper. "can we go to the studio? I think we can finish the song today" I nodded and went downstairs in the basement where the huge studio was. Ben's eyes were wide open at the sight as a baby in a candy store. We quickly recorded some bits of the song and it was really good.
After 1-2 hours of work, we took a break. We chat a bit and the fact that he was my secret crush, doesn't make anything awkward. We talked about everything and I wanted to go on forever until we reached the topic of prom. I want to know who is he going with. "so what are you doing for prom?" I asked trying to be confident. He was about to answer but my dad interrupted us. "sorry guys but I wanted to know how's going and if you need any help"  "the song is really good and we are almost finished" I replied to him. "well then me and mum are going out for dinner. Madison is cooking for dinner and Ben you can stay if you want" he ended with a soft smile towards Ben. Wow, he's not being the overprotective father, I'm impressed.
We continued a bit with the song and then we went upstairs for dinner. When we finished eating I had the idea to go to the conservatory, my chill spot. I grabbed some fluffy blankets, snacks and started the fire in the fireplace. It was cozy and magical.

Ben POV
The atmosphere ant the place was perfect. I want to ask her for prom but I have to make it special. I got up and went to take her ukulele. When I got it, I walked in the room playing -can't help falling in love- and her big brown eyes locked with mine. When I finished the song I took her hands and asked her the question "Lav... Would you go to prom with me?" she looked at me happily and said yes with a big hug.

Jack POV -time skip-
It was the day of prom and u didn't know anything from Lav about Ben or other news and when I was about to ask Gabbie she told me that it was a girl thing. They are weird. I just want to know the news. The time to leave came quick and I offered to drive her there with one of our luxuries cars, only the best for her. I was waiting for her at the end of the stairs when she appeared at the top. My can't us a princess... Her dress was long and shiny, it was lavender and that color really suits her. Her high heels made her seem so tall and they fit perfectly with the dress. Her make up was simple but cute but she actually doesn't need any makeup to look gorgeous. Her hair in place and in a long braid with some purple flowers and lavender. When she went down the stairs, Gabbie took some pics of her and j just looked proudly at my daughter. "you look more than perfect" I said to her. "thanks dad" and she higher me. Fannie took more photos and after an hour we left to pick up Ben. I saw that she was nervous but I smiled at her through the rearview mirror.
Now Ben was in the car with us and we all chatted about random stuff. I parked in from of the entrance and I noticed that a lot of people we're there. Pls, tell me they are not paparazzi. I got out of the car and a bunch of people screamed, Jack here... Jack there... I didn't know there were so many fans here. Lav got out of the car and all the girls looked at her with jealousy... Honestly, I'd be jealous too. She was still nervous so I talked to her. "Lav... I know you are nervous. It is your first prom and first song but it's a special moment for you but you have to have fun or otherwise your gonna regret it. You look like a princess and I'm sure Ben will treat you like one. I'm proud of your song and I know you're gonna win. You'll always be my baby and I couldn't be happier" tears were in her eyes but I said to not cry or her makeup will be ruined. I embrace her as she rested her head on my chest. I don't want her to grow up but it's too late.
Ben took her hand and went inside. I left and I can't wait for the surprise.

Lav POV
What my father told me made me cry. I have the best dad in the world and j can bet all my money on that. But now I have to focus and spend the best night with Ben.
We are some snacks, drank a but and danced together. He makes me feel on could 9 and I'm just happy about everything. A bunch of girls came to me just to say "I like your dress" or "you look stunning". A bunch of guys also asked me if I wanted yo dance with them but I said that I'm happy with Ben, smiling at him. I saw that he was nervous when the guys came but he doesn't have to worry, I only like him. The night was fun and I had the best time of my life but now it's time for the announcement.

"I'm honored to announce the winner of the music competition so, the winner is... Lavender Avery and Ben Smith with the song -love, dad-!!". Everyone cheered and both of us were shocked. I couldn't believe that we won! We went on the stage, hand in hand and I was too happy. They gave us a trophy and Mr. Hudson came next to us. "now since you guys are the winners we have a surprise" and as he said that, behind us was standing a band. My dad's band. What was happening?! I looked at Ben confused but he only dragged me down the stage and we started to dance when the band played our song. I looked at my sad and I saw how proud he was then I looked at Ben and rested my head in his shoulder while we were dancing. The girls of my school were fangirling over the band on the stage but I was in my own world with only Ben and the song. Then it happened, at the end of the song, we kissed. It was an explosion of emotions and everything around us exploded all I saw in his eyes was love and I've never been that happy. After that magical moment, he asked me "do you want to be mine?" and I replied without thinking "I've always been yours" and we kept dancing slowly at the notes of 8 Letters now.

No one POV
After that night Lavender learned that no matter how hard or bad it is, love is the only solution, the only cure and the only love that Lavender knew will last forever is her dad's love.
