Jonah POV
I couldn't believe it. She left me there. In the cold rain. Yes, I was crying but my tears were mixed with raindrops. I was too heartbroken so I sat on a random bench under the rain so that the water could wash my pain away... I guess.

Tate POV
I was walking home after spending the whole evening at Gabbie's place. It wasn't raining that much so I opened the umbrella and began to walk home. I connected my earphones and -talk is overrated- by Jeremy Zucker played. I was walking enjoying the rain when I saw someone sitting in the rain alone. I decided to approach him.

"hey" I got closer slowly. He looked at me with two big eyes that reflected a heartbroken soul. I got him under my umbrella.
"mmm... I'm Tate and you?"
"Jonah. My name is Jonah"
"ok, and why are you here alone in the street with this weather?"
He didn't answer my question.
"well maybe you can come with me so you won't get wetter" he looked at me and nodded. We walked side by side.

Jonah POV
That girl... Tate, she was nice. At that moment I wanted to be alone but her company doesn't bother me at all. She let me stay in her house and it was a nice and cozy place.

"you can sit on the couch. I'll be back" she said.

I did exactly what she ordered and I waited. To be honest, I was really tired but I couldn't sleep.

"I'm back" she had a big smile and 2 hot chocolates.
"well, now you have to tell me what happened" then she set up some candles and put on some chill music.

I didn't want to tell the whole story but I needed comfort so I started...

STORYTIME:
Jonah was on holiday with his friends and there he met the most beautiful girl. He's a very social guy so the girl came to him right away. They got to know each other and fortunately, she was from LA, where Jonah lives. They hanged out and did everything together, the trip was but a holiday with friends anymore, but a holiday with a girlfriend. The boys did their own stuff while Jonah was falling in love more and more. When they all had to go back to LA the situation didn't change...Jonah neglected his friends cuz of the girl he met. The boys got into an argument and now his only friend was his girlfriend. Two weeks after the trip he found out that she cheated on him the whole time, but that's not that broke Jonah's heart. It's the way she told him. They were going on a date and she was driving. A text message came through and Jonah looked at it
~got a surprise for you tonight x~
Jonah asked for an explanation. They both got mad and he ended up in the street under the rain. He didn't get any explanation and mainly he lost everything.

Tate POV
"wow that's deep..." was all I could say.

I felt so bad for him, I mean who is that evil todo that. It's horrible and no one should be treated like that. After a few minutes of silence, I spoke again.

"Listen I know it sucks. I've been played a few times so I understand. Now the only thing you need is someone to rely on..."
"that's the problem... I don't have anyone. I've lost everything" he looked at me right in the eyes and cried. I hugged him and we cuddled on the sofa.
"you have me now" then we both fell asleep there.

Jonah POV
~ I don't know love, no more... I don't know love, no more... The only words in my head. My mind was dark, empty, confused... I was lost and alone. A few girls we're around me but by looking at the felt pain. A lot of pain. My heart was aching and my head too. ~

I woke up due to the pain and it was horrible. That nightmare was horrible.

"Hey you woke up" I heard Tate soft voice. I felt dizzy.
"last night we fell asleep on the couch..." she said with a plate full of food. She looked at me.
"oh but you look terrible" I was confused...what?
"no not that you're ugly... I mean that you look sick. are you feeling well?" she asked me.
"Actually no... I feel pain everywhere"
"mmm, you look pale. Let me check your temperature" she checked and as she thought I have a fever.
"well you look like a mess and you need medication so I'll go and get you something. If you need new clothes in the room upstairs there are some" she smiled at me and left.

It's been hours since Tate left... I was worried. Outside was already dark cuz its winter now and days are shorter but still no sight of her. I don't have any phone number so the only thing I could do was wait. I decided to drink some coffee and I ended up drinking a lot of it, cuz j was nervous but mainly cuz in addicted to it.

It was 7 pm and still nothing. I was literally scared then, someone rang at the door. I looked at the monitor and it was Tate, I was relieved. Thank God she's ok but something was wrong.

"Jonah please open the door! Quick!" she looked scared.
I opened the door but it was too late, someone else was there.

Tate POV
When I left I took the car and did every single chore but when I had to go back home my car broke down midway. I mean what are the odds, so I had to walk back home. It was a long way on a dark and creepy road. I started to walk fast and when I was a block away from home, some gangster looked at me in a really creepy way. I started to run... I was terrified cuz he was chasing me. Finally, I arrived at home and rang the door. Jonah answered the door but the gangster got closer and when the door opened it was too late. He grabbed me and tried to steal my bag. He was too strong so I decided to kick him in 'that spot' so I could run away but it didn't work as I expected. Then without realizing I was in Jonah's arms.

"Shhh, it's ok now. He won't get you" he held me tight but I was too tired to stand up so I just fell into his arms.

Jonah POV
She looked tired and exhausted and she did it all for me. Her face was cute even with that bruise near her eye. I carried her inside and put her on the sofa. I covered her with a blanket and then took some ice for the bruise. She woke up due to the cold.

"what-?"
"no don't move you have to rest" I got closer.
"but you have too" she said.
She was right so we ended both on the sofa cuddling.
"We are such a mess" I laughed.
"well feeling ordinary is boring" she replied laughing.

No one POV
From that day nothing changed...Tate and Jonah stayed friends and now they live together. Jonah now is talking again with his friends and both groups hang out together and do game nights. Between Tate and Jonah, something settled... There was a special connection. After their complicated start, they both understand that they needed each other to go on.
Jonah promised that no girl would ruin his friendship again but you can clearly see that his heart is still broken and thank God Tate was there for him. She built him up again piece by piece and just important she taught him how to love again. He lost hope and continued to say that he 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲...𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲, but now it's different.
We don't know what will happen to Tate and Jonah in the future, maybe they will stay friends or maybe they will become a couple (Jatum shippers🥰).
But we know one thing for sure, they will be there for each other. So if you are losing hope with love don't worry, someone out there will help you to be on track again.
