Dil kyun yeh mera shor kare
Dil kyun yeh mera shor kare

Idhar nahi
Udhar nahi

Teri Ore Chale

"Ami, ap is liye mujhe wapis aane ko keh rahi thin?", Asfandyar questioned scrunching his brows.
(Ami, is that why you were so persistent in calling me back home?)

"Han toh yeh bhi ek wajeh thi, aur ab to yeh zaroori ho gaya hai, ek dum kharos ho gaye ho Canada jake", Mrs. Baig uttered massaging his head.
(It was also a reason, and It has become compulsory now, you've become so lifeless after going to Canada.)

"Shaadi karke kiya hoga?", he asked raising his brows. His mother and her craziness for his marriage. She would've gotten him hitched six years back If he had approved.
(What will change after marriage?)

"Shaadi karo ge to pata lag jaye ga, aur tum ese kyun bol rahe ho? Abhi bhi na karni hai kiya?", she asserted halting her task.
(You will come to know after getting married, and why are you talking as If you're going to refuse?)

"Na karun to ap man jayen gi?"

"Bilkul bhi nahi!", she declared as soon as he asked. He was turning 28 this year. He needed to get a girl otherwise his snit personality was going to dwell.
(Will you agree If I say no?)
(Not at all!)

"To phir pooch kyun rahin hain? larki bhi dhoond hi li ho gi aapne mujhe yakeen hai"
(Then why are you asking? I'm sure you would've selected my bride till now?)

"Aur nahi toh! Itni pyari larki dhoondhi hai tumhare liye mene", Mrs. Baig chirped as Asfandyar stood to crouch beside her on the sofa.
(Of course! I have selected such a pretty girl for you.)

"Acha to-", before Asfandyar could finish his sentence the shrill noise of his phone cut him off.

"Ami office se call hai, ap khana lagwayen mai ye leke at hun", he stood informing his mother who sighed missing her chance of discussing with him about their decision, not that he would refuse but his willingness was important.
(So-)
(Ami It's a call from office, you ask the helping hand to serve dinner I have to attend this.)

_________

"Did you take medicine?", Inaya looked up through her hooded eyes as Rimsha inquired passing the water bottle to her.

"Yes I did", she whispered taking a sip from the bottle. She had drunk chilled soda last night and caught a cold. She was extremely sensitive to weather shifts and would get sick handily.

"You should've just taken an off Inaya", Mahrukh spoke squatting beside her on the cafeteria chair. She appeared sick, her face had turned ruddy assumably due to the subtle fever.

"I can't miss lectures so casually, It's just a cold wese bhi, pehli bar thori hua hai?", she mumbled slightly rubbing her forehead.
(I cannot miss lectures so casually, It's just a cold, It's not like I've gotten sick for the first time.)

"Had hai Inaya! Apni shaadi pe bhi class lene aa jana tum!", Rimsha explained causing Inaya to stifle a bit as her father's words from the other day rang in her mind,
'Hamari pari ke liye isse behtar khandan koi nahi ho sakta.'

(This family is the best for our angel.)
(Enough Inaya! Will you take class on your wedding too?!)

Although they hadn't talked with her, she knew the conversation was on its way.

"kia hua ab?"

"huh? nahi kuch nahi, class ka time ho gaya hai we should go", she flapped her hand and stood up making Mahrukh and Rimsha share a glance. Something was certainly off with her.
(What happened?)
(huh? Nothing, It's time for class, we should leave already.)

________

"Are you okay?", Rimsha whispered glancing at Inaya who was barely holding up herself. It seemed like she would collapse any moment. The fever wasn't coming down.

"I..I'm okay", she released a whiff trying to pay attention to class. The man in front rendering the mission more troublesome than ever. His serious pretense making her wonder once again. Had she seen his dimples even once after he had returned? Why did he not smile?
She didn't realise she was gaping until Asfandyar stopped perceiving her continuous gaze on him.

"Ms. Salman?", he called out positioning his hand on the rostrum.

"Ms. Salman?!", he reiterated a bit loudly and Inaya shifted on her seat when Mahrukh poked her shoulder.

"Y..yes?", she stumbled standing up, her breath heaving pace with every second.

"Where are you lost?", he stressed in a sharp voice causing Inaya's breath to snag. Her head felt heavy.

"Why are you not paying attention, Ms. Salman?", he affirmed when Inaya didn't answer. She kept standing, keeping her head low, fidgeting with her fingers.

"Excuse me Mr. Alam, I'm sorry to interrupt but Inaya's sick, can you please excuse her for today?", Rimsha stood up resting a hand on Inaya's shoulder. Asfandyar took a glance at her fragile figure. The brown shawl covering her wholly, her hands slightly trembling. Was she sick?

"You can leave the class If you're not feeling well", he spoke making Inaya look up through her lashes.

"There is no need to break my momentum", he added inflicting
Inaya to avert her eye. She felt his icy orbs peering right through her.

"Let's go", Rimsha murmured yanking her arm who blinked nervously letting her take the lead.

"Take her to the dispensary", Rimsha curtailed understanding his lowered voice, her eyes dilating a bit. He had never accosted anyone in the class so politely.

"I will, Mr. Alam", nonetheless she stated slightly turning her head back.

__________

"Va Alaikum Asalam! Alhamdulilah mai theek! Aur tum?", Asfandyar answered sitting on the swivel chair.
(Va Alaikum Asalam! Alhamdulilah, I'm fine! What about you?)

"Han University me hoon, ku?", he scowled hearing Rafay ask about his whereabouts.
(Yes I'm still in University, why?)

"Asfandyar mujhe abhi Inaya ki friend ka call aya, she told me uski tabiyat bohot khrab hai, lekin mujhe office se nikalte bohot der ho jaye gi, driver bhi baba ke sath hai, tum please usse ghar chor dogey?", Rafay asked eliciting an uncertainty to settle in his heart. Was she okay?
(Asfandyar, I just got a call from Inaya's friend , she told me Inaya's sick, but It would get late If I leave the office, will you please drop her home?)

"Han I'll do that, tum fikar nahi karo", Asfandyar stood up jerking his coat from the swivel chair.
(Okay I'll do that, don't worry.)

"Inaya ki dost bhi sath me jaaye gi uske, I'll send you her number", Rafay told and Asfandyar nodded.
(Inaya's friend will also go with her, I'll send you her number.)

_________

"Did you take her to the dispensary?", Asfandyar implored as his car left the University premises. Rimsha and Inaya were seated in the backseat. He had just noticed how pale Inaya's face appeared. She looked extremely sick.

"Mr. Alam, ye ziddi larki nahi mani, kehti hai ese hi theek ho jaye gi", Rimsha grumbled eyeing Inaya who was sitting with her head low, due to embarrassment and tiredness. An embarrassment of the fact that she was seated in his car in such a bizarre situation. Embarrassed of what he might be thinking of her?
(Mr. Alam, this stubborn girl won't listen, she says she'll recover on her own.)

"You don't need to address me formally", Rimsha's mouth formed an 'O' shape as she took in his statement. Did she expect that? No.

"Yeh?-", Rimsha looked around as she heard the car stop. He had stopped by at a nearby infirmary.

"Get her checked, I don't think she's fine", Asfandyar spoke glimpsing Inaya through the rear-view mirror. He didn't know why he stopped there but he just couldn't resist. He felt a need to look after her.

"I..I'm ok..okay", Inaya protested bucking up and Asfandyar averted his gaze when her innocent hazel eyes came in view. They did something to his endurance.

"No you aren't, Rimsha, take her inside", he asserted clearing his throat while Inaya felt her heart jiggle. The fever was presumably getting to her head.

"Jee", Rimsha nodded in astonishment and opened the door pulling Inaya after her.
(Yes.)

_________

"Here, take the key and go sit, I'll bring the medicine", Asfandyar stood up watching them leave the doctor's cabin. Rimsha just shook her head grabbing the car keys and handed the prescription to him. It was hard acknowledging the fact that their handsome grumpy professor was acting so sweet. His facial expressions had remained the same but his tone felt deliberately warm.

Inaya wasn't in her right mind to discover the change though.

_________

"qasmey?!", Inaya put her hands on her ear as Mahrukh shrieked with excitement.
(For real?!)

"Aur nahi to! Kia bataon mai tumhe, wo bar bar rear mirror se Inaya ko dekh rahe the", Rimsha told with enthusiasm whereas Inaya felt her heartbeat accelerate. Her ears turning crimson with each detail Rimsha provided.
(Yes! He was continuously staring at her through the rear-view mirror.)

"Oye hoye hoye! Aag dono taraf lagi hui hai kiyaa!", Mahrukh settled beside Inaya nudging her shoulder who just shrugged hemming her head low.
(Oye hoye hoye, the fire is on both sides han?)

"Esa kuch bhi nahi hai, tum dono itna shor nahi machao, un..unko bhai ne kaha tha bas", she cleared putting her head against the headboard. After Asfandyar had dropped both of them, Inaya had taken medicine and slept. It was around the night that she woke up by banters of Mahrukh and Rimsha.
(There's nothing like that, you guys are making a fuss for nothing, R..Rafay bhae asked him to do that.)

"Rafay bhai ne ghar chorne ko bola tha doctor pe le kar janey ko nahi", Rimsha spoke with a smirk.
(Rafay bhai asked to drop you home, not to take you to the doctor.)

"Aur nahi to! tumne nahi dekha class me bhi Inaya ki ankhein kahan hoti hain?", Mahrukh added naively.
(Exactly! Didn't you see where are Inaya's eyes fixed during class?)

"Mujhe neend ayi tum log jao ab", she turned away her head, concealing her face from them when Mahrukh and Rimsha sat beside her laughing.
(I'm sleepy, you guys should leave.)

___________

"Rafay ki behen?", Asfandyar glanced at his mother with widened eyes who grinned nodding her head.
(Rafay's sister?)

"Han Inaya, MashAllah bohot pyari bachi hai, tumharey Baba ko bhi bohot pasand hai, Salman bhai aur Saima bhabhi se hamne baat karli hai, mujhe yakeen hai wo na nahi karen ge", she notified jumbling his brain.
(Yes Inaya, MashAllah she's a beautiful girl, your Baba likes her too, we've talked with Salman bhae and Saima bhabhi, I'm sure they won't refuse.)

"She isn't done with her studies yet", he said. What was his mother up to?

"We'll do Nikkah for now", Mrs. Baig smiled.

"Lekin Ami-"

"Tumhe koi aur pasand hai?", she crinkled her brows at Asfandyar's brawl.
(But-)
(Do you like someone else?)

"No, It's not like that", he answered brushing the tip of his nose. He didn't have an issue with this marriage, he just felt strange, she was his student.

"To phir? Inaya bohot achi larki hai Asfandyar", Asfandyar blinked as her hazel orbs came in front of his eyes at the mention of her name. The angelic eyes wandering in unrest, carving an apprehension before him.
(Them what? She's a beautiful person, Asfandyar.)

He sought to reflect on a new dilemma his mother had put him in.

___________

"Ianya?!", Inaya looked around as she heard her name being yelled. She had come to University after taking two days off.

"Inaya?", she slumped as Zain came around from behind a car. She was currently in the parking lot.

"Tum?", Rimsha implored coming behind Inaya after she had locked the car.
(You?)

"How are you feeling now, Inaya?", he asked peeking at her dressed in a yellow shirt with a black shawl covering her head. Her mesmerizing hazel eyes on the ground.

"I'm fine, Alhamdulilah", she whispered attempting to walk past him but he clasped her hand causing her head to whip in his direction.

"What are you doing, Zain?", Rimsha intervened pulling back Inaya.

"I'm sorry, I need to talk to you, Inaya", he brushed away the hair from his head and gaped at Inaya with pleading eyes.

"It's important", Rimsha glanced back at Inaya who was just as perplexed as her. What did he need to talk about?

"We can talk at a nearby cafe, there's time before our class starts.", he said politely.

"I..um-", before Inaya could say something he cut her off,

"Please, It's really important."

__________

"What do you want to talk about?", Rimsha interrogated after they had seated down at the cafe. Zain took a brief look at Inaya's beautiful face, devoid of any makeup.

"Mujhe ap bohot pasand hain", Inaya's head scaled hearing his words. His dark eyes on her. She shifted in her seat uncomfortably.
(I like you.)

"Mai apne parents ko apke ghar bhejna chahta hoon", her eyes widened with surprise hearing his next words. She took a peek at Rimsha who was settled casually, savoring her coffee.
(I want to send my parents to your house.)

"Rim..Rimsha?", she mumbled making Rimsha swerve her head towards her. Inaya gave her helpless look to Rimsha who sighed audibly. When was Inaya going to grow up?

"Inaya, I've liked you for a long time, I want to make you mine as soon as possible."

"Please say something?", he said firmly, making his tone polite at the end. Inaya cringed catching sight of his raven eyes boring holes. He felt unusual today. He didn't seem like the same playboy who roamed around her.

"Her answer is no", Zain whirled his head to look at Rimsha who came off indifferent to talks. She fixed her hair, took a sip of her coffee then perked up, dead into his raven orbs, her brown eyes clashing with his tough ones.

"Her. Answer. Is. A. No", Zain clenched his jaw at her statement.

"I'm not talking to you", he said turning back to gawk at Inaya.

"Please Inaya, think about it, I can give you time If-"

"She doesn't need any time, her answer is going to remain the same Mr. Zain", Rimsha cut him off once again, making his eyes turn a shade darker.

"And I think I just said I'm not talking to you!", he said harshly causing Inaya to flinch. She scraped her lower lip sensing the mood. She knew Rimsha wasn't going to stop If she began so decided to speak,

"Rim..Rimsha is right, Zain", she whispered smashing something in him. Did she just reject him? That easily?

"Understood?", Rimsha snapped her fingers with a smirk compelling Zain's blood boil.

"I'll pay", she added putting a thousand rupees note on the table and stood tugging Inaya's hand.

"See you around", Zain clutched his fist in anger eyeing her sway her dark blonde hair.

'Stupid wench', he muttered jerking his head.

__________

"Inaya larki! tumne us bechare ka dil tor diya", she chuckled as soon as they left the cafeteria. Inaya rolled her eyes on Rimsha's statement,

"Itna bechara hai to tum rakh lo", she spoke reaching towards their car but her steps halted as her eyes fell on him.
Dressed in his grey suit, a hand tucked in his pants, as usual, the other clutching the phone to his ears. Her heart throbbed when she saw him look up, his intense brisk eyes noticing her, his cold stare making her fumble.
Why was she coming across him so much?
(Inaya girl! You broke that helpless person's heart.)
(You keep him If he's that helpless.)

"Yes, I'm-", Asfandyar was just going to enter the cafe when he discerned someone peering at him. A similar sensation caused his head to glint towards the left. The hypotonic hazel eyes staring at him. He felt eerie as his mother's words rang in his brain. A sudden attraction developing for the little girl in yellow. Her inquisitive eyes on him, like always.

"Inaya?", before he could even react the sharp noise reaching his ears made him avert his gaze. He felt a sudden pang of uneasiness seeing Zain rush outside. Zain halted for a second staring at Asfandyar who was standing in his way.

"Inaya rukein!", he shouted loudly making Inaya tinge nervously when Asfandyar looked between them. His eyes stiffening taking in Zain's apparel. Ripped jeans with a baggy sweater, his thick locks falling on his forehead.
(Inaya stop!)

"Hey! What is your problem? Didn't you understand for-", Rimsha's words died down as her eyes fell on a serious Asfandyar. She had waited for Inaya to sit down in the car but thought of checking when she didn't come. Asfandyar's head darted towards her and she waved her hand in hello but cut her upper lip when Asfandyar didn't concede.
Weren't they now on friendly terms? Maybe no! Her bad.

"What's funny huh?!", she urged noticing Zain chuckle humourlessly watching her slight embarrassing moment.

"Inaya, can you please listen to me for a minute?", he ignored Rimsha glancing at Inaya who hadn't spoken a single word in his menacing presence.

"Tumhe ek baar smjh me nahi ata! usne na bol to diya hai!", Rimsha exclaimed grabbing Inaya's shoulder who peeped up for a second but tucked her head low when she saw his impassive frosty eyes on her.
(Do you not understand for once She has said a no the what's your problem?)

"Is there a problem?", Asfandyar asked clamping his fists, his eyes on Zain.

"There's not, don't interfere", he waved his hand trying to waddle past him but curtailed when Asfandyar grabbed his shoulder,

"I asked is there a problem?", he repeated slowly, this time his eyes on Inaya. Inaya opened her mouth to speak something but before she could do that a low gasp escaped her mouth as Zain shrugged Asfandyar's hand from his shoulder harshly,

"Hey Mister, get going with your work, don't you see It's personal-"

"Asfandyar bhai ye larka kabse Inaya ko tang kar raha hai!", Inaya glared at Rimsha with dilated eyes as she shouted over her lungs making Zain stare at her with astonishment,

"bhai?"

"Inaya ko bohot pareyshan bhi karta hai", she added seeing Zain's confused face.
(Asfandyar brother, this guy is disturbing Inaya from so long.)
(brother?)
(He annoys her so much>)

"Bhai is cheap ko bolen Inaya se durr rahe nahi..BHAI?!", Rimsha wheezed putting her hands over her mouth when Asfandyar hit Zain under his jaw making him stumble back, blood rushing from his nose.
(Bhai ask this cheap to stay away from Inaya otherwise..BHAI?!)

"Shit!", she exclaimed giving an apologetic look to a stunned Inaya.

"Fuck!", Zain cursed holding his nose.

"What the hell-", Inaya shrieked clasping Rimsha's shoulder, her heart racing as she noticed Asfandyar's deep blue eyes darken when he looked at her then turned to land another punch on his already bruised face.

"R..Rimsha! Do something", she pleaded feeling guilty, there was no need to hurt him.

"Mr. Alam stop!", Rimsha screamed coming in front of Zain before the situation exacerbated.

"There is no need for violence! H..he isn't that bad?", she fumbled not knowing what to say. Asfandyar looked furious, she had never seen him like this before. She had taken him for a composed person but he turned out to be violent.

"Get aside stupid wench!", Zain cried out cleaning the blood from his nose.

"Shut up! Don't you see I'm helping you?", she muttered turning around.

"I don't need your help", he tried to
push away Rimsha when Asfandyar held his hand, telling Rimsha to move away with his other hand who did that without another word.

"If I ever see you again around them, I'm not going to end this here, Mr. Ahmed", he spoke grimly, tightening his hold on Zain's arm who winced after he had left him.
He didn't know what the fuck he was doing but It felt right. He couldn't control after listening to Rimsha. He just couldn't. He had stopped getting into fights long ago but today looked like necessary.

"You're going to pay for this", an inaudible chuckle escaped his mouth hearing the kid in the front challenge, while his nose bled.

"I'll be anticipating that", he seethed glaring at him for the last time then staved off to look at her. Her shivering hazel eyes in turmoil.
If she was meant to be his, then she only belonged to him.
