Dheere Dheere se meri zindagi me aana
Dheere dheere se mere dil ko churana

'Fighting Maheen! Fighting! You can do this', she evened out her wavy chocolate brown hair for the last time before entering the building of 'Agha Industries'.

'It's not like I'm here for the first time or I'll be meeting him for the first time.'
'But Hassan Bhai said he's extra arrogant during work hours.'
'No no no, Baba said he had talked with him.'
'Yes, think positive! Be optimistic!', she was continuously biting her nails walking slowly.

'agar unho ne mujhe ghar wali ghoori dali na to paka maine baba ko bata dena hai'
'lekin ye ghar thori hai ma bhi aage se double ghoori dalun gi han!'
(If he gave me a glare like at home I'm surely gonna tell Baba.)
(But this isn't home right, I can give him a double glare, Yes!)

' If he refuses to hire me? Then? Ugh No! He can never reject my CV, yeah I'm sure.', she was still talking in her mind when she bumped into someone but the person balanced himself along with her.

"Who's this beautiful lady?", she looked up to see a man in his late twenties dressed formally grinning at her.
"Oh..I'm so sorry, I was actually thinking about something so I didn't notice..I'm so-", she blabbered moving back a bit when her cut her,

"No need to be sorry, beautiful. I'm Ahad Malik from the HR department. Can I help you? ", Ahad smiled at her.
"um..No. Thank you so much, I can manage.", she returned the smile.

"Pleasures all mine! By the way are you here for the interview for CEO's assistant?", he inquired politely.
"um..Yes", she replied glancing at her watch, she was almost late.

"Well bye I think I'm almost late, see you", she said hurriedly leaving the place and Ahad smiled looking at her petite figure running towards the elevator.

______

"Assalam-u-Alaikum and Good Morning! How may I help you?", the receptionist on his floor greeted her politely. She seemed to around her late twenties wearing a blue shirt and trouser with white dupatta. Maheen peeked at her name tag, it read 'Faria Iqbal'.

"Va Alaikum Asalam I'm Maheen Ali Agha, I had an interview with the CEO today", she said politely clutching the file in her hand.

"Oh Miss Maheen, you're just on time! Sir asked for you a moment ago, you can go straight then turn left, it's his cabin", she smiled affectionately.
"Thank you so much Faria", Maheen said moving towards the told directions.

"Best of Luck! You're really pretty by the way Maheen", she turned hearing Faria's voice behind her.

"You too", she smiled getting comfortable by her good vibes. She was used to such words. She had always been in the spotlight due to her bubbly nature and appealing looks. Her chocolate brown eyes matching her hair were the most captivating feature of her face after the tiny nosepin adoring her nose.

'She's so sweet I wonder how she copes with a boss like him', she huffed staring at his name on the big door,
   CEO Mustafa Wali Agha.

She straightened out her dress before knocking on the door.

"Come in", she gulped lightly hearing his deep voice.

'Here we go', she took a deep breath plastering her fake smile on and pushed open the door.

"Asalam-u-Alaikum Sir!", she said confidently entering his office. She remembered Hassan's rules perfectly,

1.Don't call him by his name or bhai, say Sir, as if you're meeting him for the first time.
2.Answer all his questions honestly otherwise you're dead.
I'll teach you more rules once you get the job.

"Va Alaikum Asalam! Take a seat", he replied in his intimidating voice not sparing her a single glance going through some files.

Wearing a grey Ralph Lauren suit with properly knotted tie and gelled hair he looked extremely professional. His glasses added the final touch to his serious aura. He had been featured in magazines a lot of times because of his good looks and accomplishments. Recently he had grabbed a spot in the influential CEOs of Pakistan column.

Sitting on the chair quietly she took a quick glance of the office.
The walls were painted dark grey with piano paintings on one and a huge book rack on the other. Leather sofas along with a glass table were placed in the corner. Her eyes widened seeing a huge aquarium behind him. Everything seemed to be perfectly organized.
She could smell his strong cologne even from this far.

She moved to look at him biting her lips. His pursed lips caused her to blink nervously.
'Ye to people hi itne gusse me lag rahe hain Allah koi mojaza kr den please', she muttered under her breath.
(Allah, he looks so angry already, please do a miracle.)

"Miss Maheen right?", he asked looking into her big chocolate brown eyes and she squirmed at her place uncomfortably.
"Yes Sir", she answered meekly lowering her long lashes.

'Haye Allah ye ese ku dekh rahe hain mujhe jaise interview ke liye nahi balke rishte ke liye ayi hun'
(Allah why's he looking as if I'm here for a marriage relation and not for an interview.)

"What's your qualification?", he asked placing his hands on the table.
'Do I have to act as if I don't know him? Allah this is so awkward', she sighed.

"um..Sir can I please get a minute?", she said standing up and he looked at her raising his brows.

"Miss-", he started but she cut him off by her hand,
"please Sir, only one minute", she told him hastily moving out of the cabin and he looked at her back blinking his eyes in confusion.

'She hasn't changed even one bit', he muttered rubbing his stubble.

Only a second had passed and he saw his phone flashing with 'Maheen calling'. He furrowed his eyebrows looking at the door then picked up the call.

"Hello?"
"Assalam u Alaikum Mustafa bhai", he heard her whisper on the other side.

"Maheen what is this behaviour?", he asked getting a bit angry.

"um..Bhai maine apko kabhi bataya ke aap kitne ache hain", she said which sounded like a very question.
"What?!", he was hell confused.
(I'm..Bhai have I ever told you how good you are.)

"Aap bohot ache hain bhai, mai aapki cousin hun na is liye please go easy on me, Allah hafiz!", she cut the call without hearing his reply.
(You are really nice, I'm your cousin na, so please go easy on me.)

Opening the door again she entered acting calm.

"Thank you so much Sir", she said sitting on the chair with a smile on her face.

"Who told you to sit?", he said casually and her mouth hung open.
"Sorry Sir", she stood up quickly getting embarrassed.

'batameez, jahal ese karta hai koi ek haseen larki ke sath, abhi bola go easy on me aur ye to ulta hi kar rahe', she pressed together her lips controlling her anger.
(Mannerless idiot, Is this how you treat a pretty girl, I just said go easy on me and he's doing the opposite.)

"Maheen do you not know where this non serious behaviour of yours will take you?", he asked her in a serious tone.

'Weren't we supposed to act as stangers?, Shit!', she looked up slowly to find him staring at her already.

"Sorry Bhai", she said defeated.
"You aren't the same little Maheen who'll run after breaking my glasses, grow up already", he said leaning back on his chair and she yelped inaudibly.

"Bhai! You said you'd forgiven me for that", she spoke a little loudly.
"I have, I'm just saying", he said biting his inner cheek to stop a smile.
Only she was capable of breaking his serious facade.

She looked cute wearing a yellow short shirt and white plazo with white organza dupatta on her shoulders. Her mid length chocolate brown hair open.

"You always keep grudges bhai", she mumbled getting annoyed.

"Okay, get seated, let's start with your interview", he cleared his throat getting back to his professional tone.

______

"Aap abhi tak soyi nahi Ami", he asked as he saw his mother Nazia Sikander Agha enter his study.
"Nahi Mustafa beta wo ek baat krni thi tumse", she said reaching his table and he stood up from his chair.
(Ami you aren't asleep yet?)
(No son I wanted to talk to you about something.)

"Chalein room mein chal ke karte hain", he said moving towards the door but his mother stopped him,
"Nahi Mustafa yahan hi theek hai tum idhar aao", she called him sitting on the sofa.
(Come let's talk inside the room.)
(No it's okay, come here.)

"Abu ki tabiyat to theek hai?", he asked getting worried. His father Sikander Agha had heart problem, therefore he had retired early from business passing it to his son Mustafa.
(Is Abu alright?)

"Han wo theek hain mujhe Maheen ke bare me baat karni hai", she said smiling.
(Yes he's alright, I want to talk to you an Maheen.)

"Not again Ami", he said frowning.
"What not again? Do you want me to die before seeing my grandchildren", she narrowed her eyes at him.

"Ami she's 10 years younger than me", he said looking at her mother in disbelief.

"So what? I'm 8 years younger than your father!", Mrs.Sikander told him.
"They were old times Ami", he reasoned.

"Are you calling me old?", Mrs.Sikander said in shock.
"I'm not saying you're old, I'm saying the times in which you got married were old", he clearified.

"Bas! 32 saal ke ho gaye ho, kab shaadi krni hai tumne? pehle kehte the ke Maheen ki parhai khatam ho le , uski parhai khatam hui hai to ab kehte ho ke 10 saal choti hai! chahte kia ho tum?", she said getting angry at his stupid son.
(Stop it! You're 32 already, when do you want to marry? First you used to say let Maheen complete her studies and now when she has completed her studies you say she's 10 years younger than you! What do you really want?)

"Ami abhi mujhe shaadi nahi krni, aur karni bhi hui to Maheen se bilkul bhi nahi! wo mere liye Shiza jaise hai", he stated mentioning his sister Shiza Agha.
(Ami I don't want to get married right now, and even if I want to I will never marry Majeen, she's just like Shiza to me.)

"Wallah! had hai tumhari Mustafa mai Maheen ko tumhari biwi banana chahti hun aur tumne to usko pehle hi behan bana diya!", Mrs.Sikander huffed at his son's behaviour.
(Wallah! It's too much, Mustafa I want Maheen to become your wife and you're  declaring her as your sister even before that happens!)

"Ami mene use kabhi us nazar se nahi dekha aap samajh ku nahi rahin", he tried to convince his mother.
(Ami you are not understanding, I have never seen her like that before.)

"Mai sab samajhti hun isi liye keh rahi hun Maheen hi tumhare liye best hai, aur agar pehle us nazar se nahi dekha to ab dekh lo!", Mrs.Sikander said clearly.
(I understand everything this is why I'm saying Maheen is best for you and If you haven't seen her like that before then see now!)

"Ami aap-", he said but she cut him off,
"Chup! Meri baat sun lo ek Mustafa, meri bahu to Maheen hi bane gi! tumhare pas ek mahina hai, Shiza aur Hassan ki rukhsati ke sath tumhara nikkah krwa dena hai mene tum apne dimaag ko ready krlo", she said standing up and he looked at his mother dumbfounded. She surely loved Maheen more than him.
(Quite! Listen one thing Mustafa, only Maheen will become my daughter-in-law! You have one month to get your mind ready, I will get your nikkah done along with Hassan and Shiza's rukhsati.)

"Ami ye kia baat hui bhala! aap zabardasti karen gi ab", he said seriously.
(What is this Ami! Will you force me now?)

"Zabardasti karni pari wo bhi krlun gi Mustafa mian! ab tum apna kam karo aur han Maheen ko job to de di na tumne?", she asked turning back.
(I will force If I have to Mr.Mustafa! Now do your work and yes did you gave Maheen the job?)

"Ji de di thi apki chahiyi Maheen ko job", he said annoyingly and she smiled at his reaction.
(Yes, I gave your dear Maheen the job.)

"pagal! Shaadi ke baad mujhe hi shukria karo ge dekh lena", she chuckled thinking about the future.
(Stupid! You'll thank me after marriage, I guarantee that.)

She had to make his stupid son realise what a jem Maheen was. And that the was for him.
