Today was the day. Today was the day Harry was going to Hogwarts.
The day had started with his Aunt Petunia waking him up telling him to get ready and finish packing for Hogwarts. The Hogwarts Express left at exactly 11 A.M and he would have to be ready to leave for Kings Cross before then.
Uncle Vernon was at work and Dudley normally slept until 12 in the afternoon anyway so they were safe.
Petunia had told Vernon that she had enrolled Harry in a school for troubled and lost cases that was a boarding school called St. Brutus's Secure Center for Incurably Criminal Boys. Where she got the stupid and long named school, Harry didn't know but Vernon seemed completely pleased with Petunia's choice, especially because she said she was using the money Lily had left for Harry to pay for the school so it wasn't coming out of Vernon's pocket.
Harry had an idea that Vernon didn't know all of the truth about the Wizarding World - like Hogwarts, for instance - but had an idea that Harry, along with Petunias sister and her husband, weren't exactly what one would call normal. Which is probably why Vernon and Dudley always called him freak. Like father like son, Harry thought bitterly.
Petunia couldn't come to see him off because Vernon would be suspicious but told him to go the brick wall between the platforms 9 and 10. Then walk through the wall. He was suspicious because even if it is magic, walking through a wall? The ticket that was given to him along with his letter, said Platform 9 ¾ though so maybe. And she had already done this because of Harry's mother so he guess he'll just have to trust her.
He walked through the wall apprehensively but gladly realized he could walk through it. He saw a family of red heads bustling about and over all, being exceptionally loud, when he recognized two of them. It was those twins. The mischievous ones.
As I'd they felt eyes on them, they turned around. When they saw who it was they smiled at him genuinely.
He smiled back and they looked as if they were going to walk over to him when someone yelled.
"Mum! Mum! It's Harry Potter! He even has the scar! It's Harry Potter Mum!" A red head girl yelled.
The twins turned back to him and stared at him in disbelief.
They were told to board now. Harry gave them his ticket and got on the train. He found an empty compartment at the end of the train and sat down.
Harry felt sad. He had liked the twins, they seemed like fun. But now, because whoever that girl was had yelled out about his fame, they would treat him differently because of that. They either would distance themselves from him or they would become his friend just for his fame. Or the very unlikely scenario, they stay his friend, regardless of his fame.
He was wallowing in his depressing thoughts, staring out the window, when there was a knock on the compartment door.
The door opened and out stepped a boy with freckles, blue eyes, and bright, fiery red hair.
"Are you really Harry Potter?" he asked with a face of awe.
"Maybe. And who are you?"
"Ron. Ron Weasley." he stated proudly, puffing out his chest.
"Well, are you Harry Potter?" He asked eagerly.
"Look, I-"
Harry was cut off by the compartment door opening again.
Fred and George Weasley poked their heads in.
"Ronniekins! Leave the poor guy alone!" Fred said.
"Yeah! Besides, we need to talk to him," George continued.
"Hey! I was here first!"
"Well you see Ronniekins-" Fred started.
"I think you should learn-" George continued.
"To respect your elders," they finished together.
Ron humphed but walked out of the compartment. Well, more like stomped.
"So, Harry was Harry Potter."
Harry sighed and nodded.
"Well, we don't even really-" George began.
"Care about the fame as long as you let us-" Fred added.
"See that famous scar!" They finished in unison.
Harry smiled and laughed while shaking his head but pulled his hair up so they could see the scar more clearly anyway.
They had a bunch of laughs on the way there, halfway through the ride, their friend Lee joined. Then Hermione and while she can off as bossy and annoying at first, she was an amazing person. Harry has his suspicions that even in the short time together, there may be a little attraction between the twins and Hermione.
Harry's favorite memory of the ride was when Harry bought one of everything and shared with the twins, they grovelled at his feet and started bowing saying they weren't worthy of his presence.
When they finally got to Hogwarts, Harry was in a much better mood than when he had boarded the train.
Fred, George, and Lee parted from Harry and Hermione because the first years had to go to the boats for first years.
Harry and Hermione were luckily together but unfortunately, they were also stuck in a boat with Ron and another first year, Theodore Nott he told them.
Harry tried his best to ignore Ron but with him basically laying across Theo and Hermione to get to him, Harry took pity and started to talk to him, just for his friends. They owe him. Then Ron started going off about how amazing Gryffindor was and how slimy and evil Slytherin was. Oh, they owe him a lot.
They finally reached the castle and were lead outside big, brass doors. Harry could hear chatter inside it and he was starting to get nervous.
A Stern looking woman came out and introduced herself as Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress.
She lead us into the Great Hall and placed an old ragged hat on a three-legged stool. Then the hat started to sing.
A thousand years or more ago
When I was newly sewn,
There lived four wizards of renown,
Whose names are still well known:
Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor,
Fair Ravenclaw, from glen,
Sweet Hufflepuff, from valley broad,
Shrewd Slytherin, from fen.
They shared a wish, a hope, a dream,
They hatched a daring plan
To educate young sorcerers
Thus Hogwarts School began.
Now each of these four founders
Formed their own house, for each
Did value different virtues
In the ones they had to teach.
By Gryffindor, the bravest were
Prized far beyond the rest;
For Ravenclaw, the cleverest
Would always be the best;
For Hufflepuff, hard workers were
Most worthy of admission;
And power-hungry Slytherin
Loved those of great ambition.
While still alive they did divide
Their favourites from the throng,
Yet how to pick the worthy ones
When they were dead and gone?
Twas Gryffindor who found the way,
He whipped me off his head
The founders put some brains in me
So I could choose instead!
Now slip me snug about your ears,
I've never yet been wrong,
I'll have a look inside your mind
And tell where you belong!
McGonagall started to call names.
"Abbot, Hanna"
She kept calling when she got to the P's.
"Parkinson, Pansy"
I knew my name was near and I waited apprehensively.
"Potter, Harry"
Whispers broke out all along the Great Hall.
Harry slowly made his way over to the stool and Professor McGonagall place the Sorting Hat on his head.
"Hmm... Brave, you would do amazing in Gryffindor. But also very cunning and ambitious. You could become the greatest wizard of all in Slytherin. But you are very loyal too... Loyal to a fault. You could make lifelong friends in Hufflepuff. You are wise beyond your years too, you would be an asset to Ravenclaw...
"I have come to my decision."
"HOGWARTS HEIR!"
H
arry was confused. What did that mean? Wasn't their only 4 houses?
Albus Dumbledore (*cough* Dumble-Whore *cough*) decided to voice his thoughts.
"What did you mean by that Sorting Hat?"
"He has a name you know?" Harry reprimanded.
"Excuse me?" Asked the esteemed Professor.
"Alastor," Answered... Well, Alastor.
"Well, Alastor," said the Professor with barely contained disgust, "What do you mean, old friend, by 'Hogwargs Heir'?"
"I mean, Albus, that young Harry Potter here fits into all the houses. And my founder, Helga, Rowena, Godric, and Salazar, told me that if I ever am to come across someone like that, I am to announce then the Hogwarts Heir and they will take it from there."
"Well, they aren't here and they haven't done anything, so I think it's best to just put him in Gryffindor because he will do best there, don't you agree my boy?" Directing the last part at Harry with a disgusting twinkle in his eye.
Harry barely stopped himself from sneering.
"Well, I will have you kno-"
"Thank you, for this Alastor but don't fret. We are here now."
Harry, still had the Sorting Hat on his head so he had the flaps whipping him in the face everytime he turned his head.
He turned around to see four people, respectively dressed in yellow, blue, green, and red in a painting.
"Do not worry, and most definitely do not interfere," the woman in blue said darkly, "for we are here now Albus."
The man in green said, "You can sit at any table you want for now, Minerva will guide you to us when the feast is over."
Harry nodded in a daze of sorts and took the hat off and put it back on the stool. He sat at what he assumed was the Gryffindor table because he saw Hermione, Fred, George, Lee, and other red heads there. He sat in between Fred and George, across from Hermione.
They talked, asking him if he was okay and everything and overall, made him feel better even with this whole ordeal.
The feast finished, and even if Harry was happy to be here rather than at 'home' or whatever school Vernon was planning on sending him to, he still cod do without the looks being sent his way.
Professor McGonagall led him out to the halls, making random twists and turns, and stopped in front of a painting with two chairs but no people in it.
"House Unity."
Harry was thinking the woman was off her rocker, talking to a painting, when said painting, flew open.
She walked through and Harry followed her.
Inside was an amazing and cozy place, with a fireplace and comfortable chairs in front of it. It had a staircase that looked like it would lead to a bedroom or something. It was so comfortable feeling. Harry felt at home.
"Do you like it, youngling?"
Harry turned around so fast he thought he might get whiplash.
"Yes, yes I do. Who are you?" Harry questioned as politely as he could.
"Well, youngling, I am Helga Hufflepuff, this is Rowena Ravenclaw, this is Godric Gryffindor, and this is Salazar Slytherin," pointing to each person respectively.
"The founders of Hogwarts?" Harry asked in awe.
"Yes," answered Salazar, "and we have always been here, but we don't like to come out often. We have been waiting for our heir. We will guide you as we see fit, and you feel most comfortable with."
McGonagall gave him a soft smile and walked out of the room gracefully.
"So, as our heir, we have discussed that you will rotate between the houses. You can choose the order of which you would like to rotate, but it has to be done by tonight, because tomorrow you start classes," said Godric.
"Okay... I'd like to start with Gryffindor. Next Hufflepuff... Then Slytherin... Then Ravenclaw." Harry responded.
"Alright, so the way this will work, is you will spend one quarter with each house. If you wish it so, you can spend no time with certain houses next year, you can stay in only one house, or you can change the order of which you visit the houses, next year. But that is next year," Rowena informed me.
"I shall go inform the Deputy Headmistress of this," said Salazar.
"Goodnight," responded Harry.

Okay so! Super long chapter. Over 2000 words. I'm proud of myself for this. I actually really like this chapter.
