Today was the day. Today was when Harry was going to get his letter. It was July 31 and luckily the Dursley's were out. It was a bit ironic to Harry, that the day he was turning eleven, was the day he got his ticket out of the hellhole. Like an amazing birthday gift.

He opened the letter and read through it.

Dear Mr. Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry. Please find enclosed list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1st. We await your owl no later than July 31st.

He would need to find a way to get to Diagon Alley if his father's diary was any indication bbut he will ask Aunt Petunia about that later, assuming she knew about it.

He looked at the old and worn-down grandfather clock in the kitchen and saw it was 11 A.M. He saw an owl perched outside the window sill and quickly wrote his reply using a random pen he had found and sent the letter on his way.

He spent the rest of his day completing his chores and when he had finished around 3 P.M he settled down for the rest of the time he had left to read his father's journal.

Harry awoke to a soft knocking on the cupboard door and knew instantly it was his Aunt Petunia. She was the only one who bothered to knock, after all. The door was slowly pushed open and Aunt Petunia's face revealed itself.

"Harry, did you get your letter yet?"

It was then Harry realized that he hadn't been able to tell his Aunt about the letter and had completely slipped his mind to tell her.

He nodded, "Yes but I must get my supplies in a place called Diagon Alley?"

"Oh yes," she replied, "We will have to go there, I guess... Well Dudley and Vernon are out on a son-father bonding trip for two days, do you know when you'll get your list of supplies?"

Harry opened his mouth to reply but before he could say anything, there was a light tapping - almost like a pecking - sound coming from the living room. They looked quizzically at each other then went to go investigate the strange noise.

When they got to the living room they saw an owl tapping at the window with it's beak, looking as impatient as an owl could look.

Harry quickly opened the window and took the letter from the owl. He was going to try to find a treat or something to give to the impatient owl but unfortunately, it impatiently flew away.

Harry opened the letter and read what he would need to get.

• One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
• One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
• One winter coat (black with sliver fastenings)

• 1 telescope
• 1 set brass scales
Students may also bring an owl OR a cat OR a toad

His Aunt Petunia was reading over his shoulder and when she had finished she said, "Well, if we have to buy all that, might as well get started as soon as we can."

So, I know this was a pretty long wait and for that I'm sorry. I'm not gonna give you an excuse because it doesn't change the fact that this was late. I won't have a schedule for updates but I will try to update as frequently as I can. I'm actually really proud of this chapter because it took a long time to type out the letter of supplies because I didn't copy and paste it. For the long wait I tried to make this chapter a little longer so I hope you liked it!

Also, I'm not sure I said this in the last chapter but I got the idea of the journal from onyxjay on her book, Eagles Flight - I think it's called that anyway.

I know this is moving a little bit slow so I hope you stayed with me, but I think you'll be happy to know that next chapter, they meet the Weasley Twins! I love the twins so I'm excited to write that. I hope you're excited to read that.

And I feel the need to say, DeathIsAUnicorn made a cover for me and I wanted to thank her for that because it's amazing.
